This is a community who enjoys realistic/semi-realistic military simulation.

Exactly.

If I did want a sex, nude, slavery and whatever game/content .... if I did  ... it wouldn't be trying to do it in this game because it lacks some *fiesse* when it come to avatar animated movement.

Of the 90 odd people who voted Yes, I'd love to know the average age LOL

I'd take a guess and say in the range 14-20 ;)

But thats ok, I'm sure the average male, along with thinking about sex about 50 times a day, would love to see nakiness and the likes as many times in his favourite game lol. Probably get shot a lot with all the distractions.

I don't think this sort of game is a suitable platform for what you want.

In general I'm having it a bit difficult to understand why people want to transform OFP/ArmA/ArmA2 into some other game. If you want so different game then perhaps you need to get some other game which is closer to what you want - wouldn't it be easier - consider that most modding projects around here never get nowhere near completed, do you want to add one more.

I don't oppose adult content - I can ignore it if I want or use it if I want. I just think it would be better to keep a military simulation game as a military simulation game.

Heck, the game already includes direct references to sexual abuse, actual mass-graves, references to hanging and other civil violence, and the whole game is based around SHOOTING PEOPLE. How the hell can some nude content be worse than that?

i have no issues with explicit content, whatever the nature is. If it's of quality, it will find home in my addon directory.

guys like you should be in an asylum.

Coming from a guy that probably plays much more then just Arma 2 I don't think your in any position to say that to him.

You have I'm sure played other violent games, example GTA 4 or something like it that grants you reward for killing, assaulting, using hookers, going to strip joints, shooting up innocent people.

So don't go there thinking your all noble and your sane because you play a military sim so that makes you some kind of proud American serving his country in preparation or something..

All he was asking is if he could make adult content which would be considered partial nudity or full along with mature themes. Don't kid yourself this stuff isn't exactly kid proof gaming yet there buying and playing very violent things out there. You just think it's acceptable so that makes it okay?

Your a dumb ass for saying something like that, just because someone wants to maybe make a mod that supports mature campaigns and more realistic stories that happen out there in the real world, within wars reach.

Like......nudity?

You got playboy for that bro.

Games don't need nudity, unless its that Wii porn game I've been hearing about.

I'm all for realisistic gore though, nothing overdone, but an RPG to the chest should do something, right?

Doubt i would bother with the nudity, more realistic gore i would be interested in though (not that it is really needed either)

Sex and Slavery in a Military Simulator....doesn't really add up, even having the option to enslave or make love with people in games like "Sahrani life" would be too far.

Yes it does, what about soldiers raping? Vietnam, WW2....

Slavery and rape shouldn't be part of any game. If you ever talked to men who spent 15 years as slave laborers or women who "stopped counting at the 40th guy" you'd share this belief. Trust me.

If you think about it, it's sad enough that we enjoy "killing" each other.

How is that worse than shooting someone?

So basically hide all the bad things in history such as swastika, slavery, and rape so future generations can repeat it?

What the hell does that have to do with anything? This is a game about infantry combat not rape, slavery, and Nazis. Realistic gore has its place in this game, but thats about it. Watch a documentary about those things if you want to learn about them.

I think that Arma and Arma2 are fun games because they are tactically challenging and I like blowing stuff up. There are a few things that BIS has introduced in Arma2 such as wartime attrocities, visible in the first mission. Mass graves, hanged bodies, tortured civilians who you can deliver to safety. But the mass graves look fake, which is good. And the tortured civilians are more representative than anything else. And when I deliver them to safety, that feels good. And if I ignore the civilians and continue on with my mission, I have to live with that choice. Even if delivering a civilian to safety results in further intel from that civilian which helps my main mission, I'd still want to help that man.

In the end, I think adding child soldiers, nudity and other horrors of war will make the simulator more realistic. To me, it's the same as adding an insurgency to the game so that you have to decide if that armed civilian is a hunter or an armed insurgent. These are decisions which face real soldiers. However, what the OP is talking about sounds a bit different. Changing the focus of the game away from military strategy and fighting and toward RPG is interesting. Half of what Rangers do in the RW is negotiate with foreign guerillas, train them to destabilize a government, and sometimes Rangers are faced with the possibility that those same guerillas are involved in drug trade, prostitution, murder and other bad stuff. Part of Ranger training involves having to make tough decisions like what to do if the guerilla wants to kill a woman who they say has betrayed their cause (for example). Sometimes, there's no easy answer or clear correct choice. Anyone play Splinter Cell: Double Agent?

Sounds like it could be interesting with a variation like that. I'm not down with what the OP envisions, a whole RPG game. But I do like the idea of having to make moral choices which will effect the campaign.

My personal opinion would be that war is ugly and horrid, so I don't see why we should be idealizing it by not showing the consequences, no matter how much they upset our sensibilities. That, I guess, would be the bigger crime.

this reminds me of duke nuke em with the dancers

*shake it baby*

To be fair why would you play a military simulation to have naked women in it?

Every one to their own

well there is a rape victim in arma 2 already so thats rules the need for that out, then there is many Civis ingame that you could use slaves as so no need to make them, and just create a death camp in the editor and add the civis to it. done.

For the same reason i wan't to see russian campaigns for this game.Variation!I hate to always play as yankee.I think it would be fun to "pump out" info from hooker,or in more civilian based missions to take part in nude party etc.:D

Heck, I say "Why not?". ArmA2 is a sandbox. If we can have Terminator mods, Zombie mods, heck they even tried to make a dinosaur mod before switching game for that one, we have missions like Chernarus Life that don't have anything to do with the original concept of the game, not to mention police-mods, then why can't we have this?

The whole charm about ArmA2 is the moddability! The whole series would have died long ago if it wasn't for the mods that make people keep playing and keep buying the game, and with the freedom of content created even more tastes can get what they want.

If someone would want to make a campaign focused on atrocities, child soldiers, prostitutes and drugs, why not? Sure, those things are BAD! But invading a country kill off the only force having control of the country in exchange for mass-death and anarchy like in Iraq where forcing western control structures on a country that isn't ready for it isn't 'good' either, no matter what your country's government says about it.

How are IEDs (haven't seen ANYONE complain about the morals of the existance of IEDs in missions) less bad than prostitution for example? I just think that some people here really need to come down from their high and mighty moral thrones and start to look at the world as it actually is, and not look at it like their government want them to or with the moral values given by their local priest.

I can understand those saying that they don't think it fits in the scope of ArmA, but please keep moral preaching away from this unless you have exact values that everyone agrees on as of how bad the things are in comparison to eachother, including shooting another uniformed soldier.'

Still for those thinking it doesn't fit into the game I point to the top of my post. Freedom of choice is bliss, and variety is what keeps ArmA alive!

I think most people's arguements in this thread about violence is that they don't want to see something like the second half of this video, starting at 2:03

. And in that sense I agree.

Strange question.

And I did miss the voting possibility "There is so much adult content in it right now, it can't be more."

If war isn't an "adult content" and only sex & crime is - how perverse are we?

But I know it's a question of language - but also of culture and ethics.

We are so used to killing and murder in every kind of media. Even children are allowed to watch it on TV.

But two thoughts on it:

1. You may implement it as much as you want. That's the specialty of OF and AA: It's a kind of Web 2.0 - culture: Users create content. But you have to find sexually surpressed (my opinion) or otherwise surpressed gamers that are eager to join those missions.

2. And a thesis: The more a culture surpresses "adult contents" ("sexuality") the more violent it is in real life.

Head on the nail there, Herbal. We are so 'dulled' against some stuff while others are so bad, so bad!

Just because I like picking on USA I'll take another example: Violent games aren't an issue. But if you show as much as a lady's nipple in a game and the PEGI rating will instantly jump up a couple of years. Talk about messed up morals!

I do agree that the whole topic about nudity, slavery, etc is pretty niched. But I bet there are some players that will enjoy it, and if so I can't see why people should frown on 'em for doing so, while the rest of us commit genocide.
