Somewhat odd is that the texture from the air looks different than when you land.

Hopefully that's different too. Ideally a more or less realistic procedural variation of surface texture.

While driving people around in a truck in multiplayer I noticed that quite a few ground textures are very noticeably different from the air (truck 3rd person view) than if I look at them on the ground.

Not really a big thing, but weird anyway.

maybe its a optimzation thingy so the game won't be to heavy on the system like LOD's are used for 3d models in the game? Textures are also Loded somehow? :)

Yeah, I thought the same. It's on the bottom.

From BI's website:

Honestly, I love this company. This stuff is all that we've been talking on the forums lately.

Just want to say thank you to BIS for the effort in getting out this patch.

It was posted 1:16am here, so thats 2:16am in Czech republic, thats alot of overtime for somebody.
