HiFi Novus Aevum - modular sound conversion

Hey, firstly i gotta say what a fantastic job you have done on this. Definatly the best sound pack i have tried.

Secondly :)

Are there any plans to allow the new ACE weapons to use this soundpack?

All the default weapons that are within ACE use the sound pack, but for example the 416's even loaded with default ammo, still use the ACE sounds (which is nice, but doesnt have the feel of yours).

But like i said, brill job on this. Lets just hope the new sound stuff in arma 2 will allow you sound editing guys even more room to play.

I has already been said that there will be a replacement pack for ACE and some other mods.

WOW!! I've been using this for a week or so now and it is definitely the best sound mod I've heard (and I've tried all of them).

Would there be a chance to establish a sort of module in order to make HIFI CWR compatible please?

Did that for a personnal use but it's kind of limited as it does only replace the weapon sounds and not the rest.

Wow its been a crazy few weeks for us guys @ HiFi..I mean personally I thought NA would do quite well considering how well HiFi 1.5 did. But WOW this is fantastic, such good comments & feedback. Also, the upshot of this is we're now very busy! I like busy :)

Nice to see you over here TB, I had a chat with andersson about such a thing. He suggested we make a sound replacement using NA as a base. I think if andersson has the spare time he's eager to make something work for CWR. So, yes I believe HiFi CWR modules are going to happen.

We have not been approached to make anything specific for CWR, but its such a good addon how can we not make something for it :)

Today at some point I shall upload a new vid for my latest wip sounds for Robert Hammers AK's, an if we get time our new AH 1 startup sound for ACE 1.08.

I have been in discussions with Chammy of the highly acclaimed CSM sound addon. I would very much like to work on something together with Chammy for the future, I cannot say what or when but I can tell you that he's interested too. I'm gonna shoot some idea's over to him and see what we can come up with. Like I said before, there is no timeframe on anything happening soon (as we're both busy with R/L) but its something I look forward to :D.

Well, thats all for now, need to get this stuff on my youtube channel pronto

When I saw CWR release I thought of making one. And I will. The problem is that I am so busy now and have been for the last months.. (I havent played much arma at all this year...)

@all. Im doing good progress on the ace weapon module though. Will do some bugfixing today (made it when I had some time over at airports and other terminals..). I will hopefully get the config to Mark later today. Then he must add in the sounds and off to internal beta testing.

It will be released when ready, hopefully in a not to distant future.

I think I found a bug...I posted it in the official HiFi forums; but I thought I'd post it here as well to see if others have the same problem.

I seemed to have found a bug with the latest hotfix (1.02). The M4A1 M203 ACOG rifle found in the Special US weapon crate won't fire M203's. It lowers the weapon (like a patrol on 'safe') and I can't use optics or reload. I reverted back to the original release and the problem is gone (it's something in the new weapons.pbo). It is also only specific to this weapon...all other m4\m16 m203 versions work as they should.

Thanks alot for the find mate, well andersson is away now for alittle while so Cole an I will have a look and see whats different.

Also andersson sent me a brand new empty HiFi_ACE_Weapons config last night. So I'm very happy to get stuck into that!

Thats right, you cant fire GL on BIS M4A1 or AimPoint's DW M4A1. Only GL weapon that can fire it is M4.

Okay, looks like I've managed to fix the issue. M4A1 M203 ACOG is firing nades again! (Tested with 1.16b)

If the fix doesn't cause more problems, the update should be out really soon.

Yes, nades. It says Grenade when you switch to GL. With 2.0 files it works fine.

Yeah, well now it works as it should, displays the "M203" text (or whatever it was) and shoots nades as it should. I've just passed the config to Mark, so it depends on him and whoever does the keys (that's Betsalel I think?) to release the update.

Hi guys just a quick update on HiFi...progress

As Cole says the m4acog m203 bug has been fixed. I've tested it out and so far so good. I shall release this as soon as I can get intouch with our key maker which is proving tricky right now.

Andersson has posted me our brand new Ace Weapons module to which I have been glued...Afew days ago, I completed a beta of the sounds for it, went to load it up and.....ermmm.. I think I've broken it.

So right now, I'm swimming in Ace sounds which I cannot try until andersson comes back and fixes my coding skillz...

Heya yeah thanks...good word that and funny vid..Been saying alot of words like that over the last few days but on the bright side I have beta sounds ready for testing so at least we're not waiting for my ass as usual...:)

That said I know andersson is away for atleast another week so...

Some brighter news.

We're hoping to release the weapons update and something andersson has worked up with one of the existing modules :) soon.

Ok I didn't have much time last night to do a proper posting, sorry about that however now I have alittle time so here goes.

We've released a small package containing the following;

HiFi Weapons v2.02 module (Updated to fix M4 acog GL)

HiFi 'Silent' Enviroment module (Additional module made by andersson)

*Quick note about the silent enviroment, andersson removed all the wildlife I believe to create a 'dead' atmosphere..ie, desert or zombie mod...Not 100% about that, sure andersson will have more details.

Hi,

Little update.

I started all over again with andersson's config for our HiFi ACE weapons module. Good news, I finished it for beta testing about ten minutes ago. Been working hard on it all day, just tried it and YAY NO ERRORS on loadup ! :)

Anyways, Betty & I are gonna go test it out on his server, hopefully it will go well then we can get it to you guys ;)

Hi,

Just thought I'd keep you guys posted on our progress so far regarding the 'HiFi ACE weapons module'.

We completed a full weapons crate test last night an I have to say things went very well. I'd say 95% of the sounds are working correctly so far. Some of the weapons we tested had no recoil as well as our old friend the m16/m203 bug showing up.

We also had afew other issues, like reloads not syncing to the 1st person weapon reload anims. I've spent this morning fixing the things I can. Now I just need to get together with Cole and figure the no recoil/m16m203 issues.

O btw, alittle off topic but...

With ARMA2 here for some and soon for others there seems to be this 'thing'....Someone asked me 'why' I'm bothering to make HiFi for ARMA when ARMA2 is around the corner.

Before anyone is stupid enough to ask that question again...
