USAF F-16C Falcon

Flying the F16 feels very nice! Getting a good FFAR salvo onto targets is much easier than with the BIS A-10 smile_o.gif

Just noticed a minor glitch:

Is the engine too limited, or is it possible to have AIM-9's on the wingtip pylons in the CAS and GBU versions of the plane?

Is that looking backwards in the cockpit? I'll fix it in the next version.

AIM-9's on wingtips - It's an engine limitation. I can model them in and let them be non-firing, but it feels a bit 'broken' when in game.

The better resolution is multi-weapon scripting, but that won't be ready for a few weeks.

Included in the PBO are three versions (listed under BLUFOR->Air):

CAP - Combat Air Patrol - 6 (BIS) AIM-9 Sidewinders

CAS - Close Air Support - 4 AGM-65 Mavericks and rockets

GBU - Precision Strike - 4 (BIS) GBU's - skin by eddyD

All are marked as USAF - in the next release I will make the roundels and tail decals user-changeable to allow for international versions.

Also, this next version should have an opening canopy, air brakes, extended damage textures, nozzle animation and some other bits and bobs.

Any and all comments welcome...

Footmunch mate, it's great to see you back doing addons. I enjoyed all the stuff you made for OFP and from what I've played of this F-16, I'll gonna be able to say the same about your ArmA addons.

One problem I've come across though is that the F-16 with the GBU loadout doesn't appear to be casting shadows over itself (like the verticle stabiliser's shadow etc), which is odd because it works on the other two. I think the nav lights are in the wrong position too: IIRC they're on sides of the intake in reality rather than the wingtips but I'm not 100% on that.

One bug I've found is that Stingers and Strelas don't lock on to the F16.

Other than that, great model...........

- the F16-manoeuvrability is designed for keyboard-use instead for a joystick-use, so the F16-steering is sticky as honey instead as agile like a porsche.

- autolanding is bugged and damages the plane.

Been flying it with the xbox joypad and didn´t notice any drawbacks huh.gif

So if the current setup works good for both keyboard & joystick flying its perfectly done imho - this is not IL2 after all.

Again great work.

In the next version could you put Sidewinders ont eh wingtips of the CAS version please.

Also a Mk83 "dumb" bomb version or Mk82 Snakeyes would be great

it appears pretty big to me, at least when comparing the pilot inside the cockpit to the rest.

the pilot usually rides pretty high, whereas in your current model it looks like he´d is a 12 year old smile_o.gif

Also could you get a different sound for the GAU-12? IMO it doesn't seem right , not much of a problem tho.

really beautiful jet, nice work. It would be even better if you somehow added the glow of the afterburner maybe by linking some sort of animation with the speed of the jet?.

the rotation of the jet seems a bit slow since almost all the other planes rotate faster.

Its very nice, and its good to have a jet like the F-16 ingame.

But I think im not sure though, the part of the aircraft nose, in lighter grey colour is a bit too long. The canopy seems a bit too long aswell. I think the section of trouble is the front page, It seems too long not much just a tad but something is not right when I look at the bird.

Bug:

If you look in first person to the whole right there is a part missing, that doesn't happens with the left side.

Apart from that, fuck, what a plane, is awesome!
