BWMod Fennek, Wolf & Basic Pack Update

Hi again,

We're very pleased to announce our latest release, the light

armoured reconnaissance vehicle Fennek by Rangarion.

Here is a snipet from the readme:

The Fennek is a light armoured reconnaissance vehicle jointly

developed for both the German and Dutch armed forces, replacing

the Luchs armored reconnaissance vehicle in German service.

The 4x4 vehicle is operated by a three-man crew and deployed in

units of two vehicles, able to conduct independent operations

for a period of up to five days. Road range is 860 km (400 km

when off-road), maximum road speed is 115 kph. Although having

exceptional off-road capabilities, the vehicle is not amphibious.

The Fennek is equipped with an extendable mast-mounted optronics

package, including daylight TV, an imaging infrared sight as

well as a laser rangefinder. Also carried is an ALADIN UAV,

using either a daylight TV or an infrared sensor. Launched

by hand, ALADIN has a range of up to 6 km.

Although the small size and low silhouette are considered as

its most effective means of protection, the Fennek is designed

to withstand small arms fire up to 7.62x51 AP and artillery

splinters. Six smoke grenade launchers are fitted. Armament

includes either a machine gun or an automatic grenade launcher,

operated from a remotely operated overhead weapons station.

Our release includes two versions of the Fennek, one in NATO and another in winter camo. Additionaly ALADIN UAVs are included which can be launched by hand and controlled by the Fennek Commander. The Fennek also features a working "periscope" and GPS display, also usable from the commander seat.

Please note:

The winter camo version is a special gift to you by Rangarion,

we have currently no plans of creating or supplying other

BWMod vehicles in/with winter camo.

Last but not least:

Before trying to use the addon, please read the readme or have a look at the tutorial mission included, because there are some steps that have to be taken, otherwise the Fennek will not work.

The Mercedes 250 GD is the standard Jeep of the German Bundeswehr which serves in numerous different roles including personnel and general transport, but also carrying shelters or mission specific payload.

Basic Pack Update

Due to a number of minor bugs (config, scripts) we've decided to provide an updated version of our Basic Pack, version 1.21.

For a list of changes have a look at the readme.

If you already have version 1.2 installed, you can download the Update and replace your old files.

If you do not have the Basic Pack yet, you can download the

latest version below.

The Fennek is absolutely fantastic, it's unique so far as OFP addons go; there's nothing else quite like it.

The updated Basic Pack and Wolf are also much appreciated.

That UAV is so hard to spot...you need to look really close to find it. That would be great for recon missions. How about a "Photo-mode" where you can take pics, and it will display it on the computer inside?

Yeah it's an amazing addon. Very nice job!

One thing that I'd love to see in an improved release is a weapon sight for the gunner. At the moment I can only fire the weapon (and see where I hit) with external view enabled, which usually is deactivated on our server along with crosshairs. A proper weapon sight would really add to this sweet addon.
