Lord Rangarion 0 Posted February 19, 2005 thx @all Yeah it's an amazing addon. Very nice job!One thing that I'd love to see in an improved release is a weapon sight for the gunner. At the moment I can only fire the weapon (and see where I hit) with external view enabled, which usually is deactivated on our server along with crosshairs. A proper weapon sight would really add to this sweet addon. Â Due to engine limitation a gunner sight is not possible in wheeled vehicles, if the gunner is sitting inside. I hope this will be changed in OFP2.

IIRC, there was gunner sight on DKM's BTR-80? But maybe it's just my memory playing tricks... Anyway, the Fennek is really outstanding. It really brings a whole new quality to this kind of addons in ofp.

It really brings a whole new quality to this kind of addons in ofp. not possible, trust me. Rangarion and I (I'm also working on a Fennek) discussed this and I also asked some people, but no real solution was found. The sight on the BTR is a trick and only a trick. But it doesn't work here. Awesome addon. The model and textures are nice, but the most impressive feature was the mast-script. Really awesome work!!

Ironsight 1 Posted February 19, 2005 hmmmmwell the problem seemd to be tonal and such so ill re download the fennek and if im sitll havign problems ill contact u on msn ? lee harvey if possible You have the same problem with all costum islands, because the maps are just textures which are only available for the BIS islands. If you look at DKM's units who have the same system, there is exactly the same problem
scruffy 22 Posted February 19, 2005 I don`t have this problem on AEF_Treben for example when I have a description.ext in the mission. Maybe you forgot that one, there is one in the example mission. @Rangarion and BWMOD: Awesome work
uscg pilot 12 37 Posted February 19, 2005 ok well heres what happens to me when i tyr to use it i put the sensor mast up and hit sensor mast control and it says resousrce bwmod periskop not availible then i go back load the desert example mission and it works perfectly so i dont no what is wrong and on my fennek when it says no map availibl the words are relaly tiny and scrunched up btu that may be my computer screen settings or game settings
lee_h._oswald 0 Posted February 19, 2005 You NEED the description.ext in your mission! That does also mean, you need the description.ext, playing arround with the editor! Go to the editor, place the Fennek + BWMod gamelogic and save it. Then copy the description.ext from the demo mission to your saved one. MfG Lee

Guest Posted February 19, 2005 I like the Fennek! Well done! Too bad it's not an armored recon vehicle but an artillery one (385th Btl.).
Cpt. FrostBite 0 Posted February 19, 2005 I like the Fennek! Well done!Too bad it's not an armored recon vehicle but an artillery one (385th Btl.). I'm not sure about germany, but in the Netherlands it will be used in several roles; -arty recon -armored recon -object security -MRAT (Medium Range Anti Tank), transporting a GILL squad. -Low altitude air defence (nothing known about this one yet)
Przezdzieblo 0 Posted February 19, 2005 Great vehicle and great model!
metalchris 0 Posted February 19, 2005 The Fennek has multiple roles in the german army well i guess its quite the same as in the Netherlands ... some info in german

tankieboy 0 Posted February 19, 2005 Licht Verkennings- en Bewakingsvoertuig Could do with a camo script. Possable update with an MG weapon system?
TeRp 1 Posted February 19, 2005 This is the dutch version of the Fennek. The german version can be armed with a MG3 machine gun or a GMG (as in our addon), both weapons are remotely controlled from the inside of the vehicle.

The vehicle is one of the older prototypes. The thingie in front of the window (blinds? I don't know the word for it), is an experiment. The large flat windows of the Fennek are a very badthing for a recon vehicle and no real solution has been found to make sure it doesn't reflect light. btw; we don't actually use that wooden M2  It's a german Fennek on the secon picture and for some reason they put a wooden M2 on it for the show. The german version can also be armed with the M2. The weapon station can take a a lot of different weapons. But the germans don't use the M2 on this vehicle. The MG3 and HK GMG are the only weapons used. If you want a version with MG, than click my sig

king homer 1 Posted February 20, 2005 Is the GMG using 40mm tracer grenades? As much as I like this addon but the standard OFP tracers are so stupid, would have been nice if you had included a nice effect script for this or just no tracer.... @Frostbite... don't quote pictures :P
