SpecOp9 0 Posted July 5, 2004 Why would BAS suddenly stop making addons? Did BIS hire them or something? I find it very strange that BAS would suddenly decide to stop making OFP1 addons, when anybody else in BAS could have been given leadership. I just find it pretty f*cking strange, and not fully explained if you ask me...
Rishon 0 Posted July 5, 2004 This is just great.... Why prepare for a game a year away?
Gollum1 0 Posted July 5, 2004 Why would BAS suddenly stop making addons?Did BIS hire them or something? I find it very strange that BAS would suddenly decide to stop making OFP1 addons, when anybody else in BAS could have been given leadership. I just find it pretty f*cking strange, and not fully explained if you ask me... You heard it, the OFP engine's limitations. BAS have always been pioneers and made many inventive workaround solutions for the game, but there is a limit to what you can do with the engine... BAS was trying to make new features for the SEALs and other addons, not to just make them another set of nice models and weapons, but the features they planned are apparently not possible. That's my perception.
Ironsight 1 Posted July 5, 2004 Shame you guys are leaving A big thanks to all BAS team members for their wonderfull addons, and their pioneering work in OFP. And see you in OFP2
SpecOp9 0 Posted July 5, 2004 So they decide to drop everything? This is hard to believe. I think BAS has very close relations to BIS, or some type of affiliation, because BAS just closing down for the pure sake of something not working is beyond any reasonable decision. I think BAS may have closed down because they simply would need to dedicate more time towards OFP2. After all Tigershark did relate to OFP2 many times, but not in depth. B-2-0 0 Posted July 5, 2004 Man, some of you guys speak like BAS owe us these unreleased addons....do you still not get it?? They owe us nothing!! If anything, we are in debt to them for all the extra joy they have brought to our OFP experience at the expense of their hard work. Anyhoo, it's sad to see BAS leave indeed. It's cool that you are leaving us with a parting gift....and if i know BAS they may still have an ace up their sleave they aint telling us about Thanx for your time and hard work BAS and good luck for the future. Y'all come back now y'hear
@cero 0 Posted July 5, 2004 What are you lot going on about?? They'll be back next week with some stuning new amazing addons that will make our mouths drop to the floor. Its like footbolers messing about with other woman while married, they just do it for publicity... Lol, just jocking. I will miss your releases and stuning ressearch and everything that has to do with addon creation. You guys are the best, witch brings me to one question, without BAS around, whos gonna be the Dady? I think you could pass the dessert vehicles project to the Combat team, in the end of the day, they doing a holly good job and its on the same theme. Whatever you do it will be right, cos its your work and you guys decide. Just make sure you don't grow out of it and come back sometime. BTW, JAM could be left for the comunity... nah, too much arguing about it. CYA guys. @CERO. Edit: shouldn't this be in the "Squads and Fan pages" section? Monkey Lib Front 10 Posted July 5, 2004 i don't see how OFP1 Limitations stopped you from releasing the desert pack, or updating the Chinook.
MrZig 0 Posted July 5, 2004 Quote[/b] ]i don't see how OFP1 Limitations stopped you from releasing the desert pack, or updating the Chinook. I don't see how your comment will want them to come back when OFP2 arrives Perhaps they wern't done? Perhaps BAS wanted a break now, to play with their addons and the others, to have a long break? Please, don't beg for the unreleased addons. It's so damned ignorant, because THEY gave US FREE addons, WE didn't PAY them. So why should we demand for their unreleased addons? It's entirely their choice!  Well, aidos BAS, maybe one day you'll come back..
Asmodeus 0 Posted July 5, 2004 I've never understood the people in the community that feel they are owed an addon once they see screenshots of it. Â Let's stop and think about it people... Â Every addon maker out there could choose to just stop and not release everything else they're working on and you wouldn't be able to do anything about it. Â The reason? Â It's their work, and they can do what they want with it! Â That being said, THANK YOU BAS for all of your hard work and dedication. Â Â You have made OFP a much more enjoyable experience for me and many others and I take this news both with sadness and hopefullness for the future. Â I'll be there when OFP2 comes out, ready to play with some more of your top quality work! Â I hope this experiene shows some of the community that addons, missions, tools, websites, etc, are not a right to the community but a privilage. da12thMonkey 1943 Posted July 5, 2004 Thanks BAS, you made some trully superb addons and some equally great scripts with them. Thanks especially for letting other addon makers learn and develop from some of your knowledge and products. Of course it's a shame that we wont see you release some of the stuff you've worked on, but what you have released warrents more respect from me than to sit here and bitch about it and I fully respect the fact that you're taking a break, hell it's long deserved. I hope you return for OFP2 with increased vigour and knowledge that will once again pathe the way of modding within the community on the new engine along with the other great modders of the game. Good luck and many thanks.
MontyVCB 0 Posted July 5, 2004 OFP2 2007, you guys will get awful bored between now and then. where the hell did u get 2007 from? but its a shame BAS havestopped working on ofp addons but hopefully we will have some great things to look forward to.

Landwarrior87 0 Posted July 5, 2004 sad news.. was looking forward to projects that never were released especially the desert vehicles pack.. and the fixed camo on the Delta/Rangers. I hope BAS wont just let the community suffer by letting these things rot away on their harddrives.. if this is the end.. please consider turning it over to someone who will pick up where you left off. no since in putting in all that hardwork for a couple of oooohhh and ahhhhhhs screenshots. Brutal_Impact 0 Posted July 5, 2004 Hm, waiting for OFP 2:A. We'll have to wait till OFP 2 is rekeased-Aprox. a year or so (correct?) B. Â We'll have to wait for BAS to release new addons for OFP 2 (add another 5 months to that release) Not at all harsh criticism, but you it will be atleast another year or so till we see an addon from you guys, not only the release date, but for your team to release their addons takes alot of time (you make them as perfect as you can). Good luck, hope you guys last. BIS has said it will come out 2005 at the EARLIEST, so that means its coming out early 2006 if we are lucky.
