Guest jacobaby Posted July 27, 2003 Really Avon...Leaked......last time I leaked anything I was in Diapers, and thats over three decades ago... Surely you remember STT's post of 1st July? http://www.ballistic-studios.com/ What did it say in there now? TJ
theavonlady 2 Posted July 27, 2003 Really Avon...Leaked......last time I leaked anything I was in Diapers, and thats over three decades ago... Well, you hit it right on the head! I needed a tabloid term and "leaked" does remind some of dirty and yellow.

Chomps 0 Posted July 27, 2003 Quote[/b] ]Rather than wait until the models, textures and scripts are 100% complete we have decided to release the blackhawk as a public beta to give people a chance to have some input into the final design. I would say the model will be 95% complete when it's released as a public beta (the last 5% always takes the longest ;)). Quote[/b] ]Work has been focusing on refining the custom animations and bug fixing the scripts in multiplayer, as well as fixing annoying model bugs such as flare launchers hovering slightly away from the helo body, refuelling probes not quite attaching to the body, you know....the really annoying last 5% of the addon making process :-) Nothing new, really, just thought I'd point out Tigershark's subtle manner. SelectThis 0 Posted July 27, 2003 There is a difference between releasing something unfinshed and trying to get it as good as we can without spending alot more time on it. Obviously we want the blackhawks to work well for people before releasing Not long now. SelectThis
Guest jacobaby Posted July 27, 2003 Many many many hours have been spent on the mh60, STT, Ebud and myself have been working on it till 4 am night after night in various aspects. I personally spent at least 10 eighteen hour days on it, and STT has been on it umpteen times longer as he raised and nutured the little thing from scratch to its current gorgeous status. It has so much detail and ability that the testing and fixing takes longer, and is inevitably hampered by that bain of us all, the MP side of OFP. Also I have made efforts to address the things asked for in the MH47 after release, notably that the AI can be scripted to do what a human player can. When you see how this baby looks, and when you feel how she feels, and when you do wha it can do, i'm sure you will understand. At any rate, we are all pretty much sick of working on it now, and so the sooner we can release it into the wild the better... Meantime, I would ask that the mission makers amongst you start to put together some worthy missions in preparation. Dont forget that decent missions can be sent to us at BAS. Koolkid101 0 Posted July 27, 2003 Hey BAS do you guys know each other in real life or do you talk to each other in some sorta chat program?
Guest jacobaby Posted July 27, 2003 Several of us have met up in the past I believe, but we communicate in realtime via IRC. You are welcome to join the general BAS channel #ballistic-studios It gets kinda tricky when we are spread across the globe, I can count at least 7 time zones that we have to deal with, there may be more!! Guest DKM-jaguar Posted July 27, 2003 Maybe it's the DKM Mod - chopper specialists! I really don't care. When it's done, that all that counts. And I'm happy to see the cross-team cooperation. [/random smilie] I dont think it is us. If it is, I was not told about it. But then, maybe it is us, and this post is just to make you think we arent making it. But then, maybe we are not making it for real. That is very likely isnt it. More likely than us making it. ...i hope that confused you. I dont want to make the choices of teams it might be smaller by saying it is not us as then that team will have more chance of being found out when they dont want to be, and it is thier choice if they want to be found or not. I think that this entire thread has been turned to spam, and it goes against BAS's wishes, as yet again their members are drawn into it, answering the same old questions. Only this one they cant ask to be closed. If addon makers didnt anounce thier projects, didnt have forums/sites, and the only place that people could download thier addons from was news sites, then all this would be avoided. Yet again the community needs to be reminded that they are here because of the addon makers alow them to be included in the cycle of addons. but still they dmand to be involved in every part (that is to say, every part that doesnt envolve effort or skill.) . My point is; why dont you just download the addons when they are done? do you think nagging, asking stupid questions and general annoyance gets them made? Do you think that the addon makers will tell you anything that they arent gonig to write up on a newsite? I know that DKM is not really suffereing from this... but it annoys me just to read it. note to moderators: This is not intended to be spam, it just turned out like it. Sorry. Wont happen again. Â I know that DKM is not really suffereing from this... but it annoys me just to read it. because it hurts when you see addons in real life in operation and then you wonder.. hmm flashpoint would be pretty cool with one of those.. then for the next few days your excited to know whats the status of the addon when your find out its going to be released.. the day the mh60 is released ill probably be playing flashpoint the whole day.. and when J.A.M is done, and they can release the SOARs, Littlebirds, and Rangers.. my friends probably wont even see me anymore. ive tried my best 2 stop asking annoying questions. Tigershark_BAS 0 Posted July 28, 2003 Anyway, I do have a question for BAS:Were there any conditions placed on the addon transfer to the other team? Specifically, will these choppers be released as part of a giant mod or will they be downloadable independently? I really cannot comment on this Avon. Sorry...would love to answer it if I could...but I need to respect the wishes of the addon creator. As for the "transfer" conditions. There was no "transfer" of work. The team creating these units has made their own models from scratch. We have provided some material for them to help texture the units (my own photography of AH-1Ws from MCAS Futenma in Okinawa, Japan) although it is unknown whether these textures will make the final release of their units. Entirely their decision. Our current models for the AH-1W and UH-1N may be released publically for other mod teams to pick up where we left off. Not sure if we are going to do that yet. Models are in various stages of development and have no LODS which means significant work for a mod team in getting these ready for an OFP release. The AH-1W also has fairly basic textures applied. Tigershark_BAS 0 Posted July 28, 2003 Well here's a non-flamming couple of questionswho will supply the pilots BAS or the other mod??? and if they supply the pilots it will follow JAM rules right The other mod will supply pilots. As for JAM...unknown at this stage.

Major Fubar 0 Posted July 28, 2003 That's the nasty thing about the internet - as soon as you put something out there, someone will have a copy, no matter how quickly you take it down. Normally it wouldn't be a problem to post images someone had already posted on this board, but I'm sure Avon's a good sport and will take her copies down if you ask
Tigershark_BAS 0 Posted July 28, 2003 Unfortunately...in this case...she went poking around our server a little too much...and posted pictures she found from there. Not exactly nice Internet ettiquette. What this does now, is make everyone poke around that folder, so it's best I just remove them all together.
