Delta Hawk 1829 Posted November 24, 2012 I like to officially confirm I am making HMMWVs for ArmA2 and will be released with my Soldiers and Marines. Pictures should follow within two weeks. Is there a way to force AI to turn on lights during the day?

Is there any chance of the humvee's doors having animations? as in being able to open the doors etc?

Delta Hawk 1829 Posted November 25, 2012 (edited) Some people like the idea of being able to open the doors, some people do not. The best thing to do to simplify the idea is to include the ability to open the doors via animations, but somehow make a module that when added to the editor gives players the user actions needed to open the doors, but I don't know how to do modules. Optional script included with the mod instead? have a look at NXW Shadow's humvee's, they're good from the point of view of the doors opening but the issue they have is the area of interaction is too small. Delta Hawk 1829 Posted December 7, 2012 Hi everyone. Here's a big update. I've reworked the woodland BDU colors because I found a credible source for the color information. I've also redone the 6 color desert BDUs. I've also decided for each camouflage type to stick with one BDU fabric to cut down on file size. Because I want to be as accurate as possible I need a volunteer to make or modify weapons for me or I won't be able to release the units who would using those weapons. And here is my HMMWV, specifically the M998, 1-1/4 ton, cargo carrier. PLEASE NOTE it is still work in progress and the final product may look different. All this was done in one and half months so far. Big thanks to the people who have helped me with it so far! To reiterate I will not make "uparmored" or "hillybilly armored" HMMWVs of the 2000s. For a list of planned HMMWVs please read my earlier posts. I don't know when I will release it. A lot of it has to do with if I get a job in the industry, which will take up most of my time. Enjoy! https://dl.dropbox.com/u/28808032/pictures/soldier%20preview%207.jpg https://dl.dropbox.com/u/28808032/pictures/soldier%20preview%205.jpg https://dl.dropbox.com/u/28808032/pictures/soldier%20preview%203.jpg https://dl.dropbox.com/u/28808032/pictures/soldier%20preview%204.jpg https://dl.dropbox.com/u/28808032/pictures/soldier%20preview%206.jpg https://dl.dropbox.com/u/28808032/pictures/soldier%20preview%202.jpg https://dl.dropbox.com/u/28808032/pictures/soldier%20preview%201.jpg https://dl.dropbox.com/u/28808032/pictures/hmmwv_9_mod.jpg https://dl.dropbox.com/u/28808032/pictures/hmmwv_8.jpg https://dl.dropbox.com/u/28808032/pictures/hmmwv_7.jpg https://dl.dropbox.com/u/28808032/pictures/hmmwv_6.jpg https://dl.dropbox.com/u/28808032/pictures/hmmwv_5.jpg https://dl.dropbox.com/u/28808032/pictures/hmmwv_4.jpg https://dl.dropbox.com/u/28808032/pictures/hmmwv_3.jpg https://dl.dropbox.com/u/28808032/pictures/hmmwv_2.jpg https://dl.dropbox.com/u/28808032/pictures/hmmwv_1.jpg
Cards525 10 Posted December 7, 2012 Very nice indeed. Question about the humvee, any chance you could add a variant with a good 'ol M2 on the back? (not on the roof, the back. where the troops sit :) )

nodunit 397 Posted December 7, 2012 (edited) Your infantry look quite nice, with the ripstop and clarity in seams and stitches..but I'm mot of a vehicle nut and I got to say, what you did with the HMMWV mirrors the infantry wonderfully, so crisp and clear...and uses the actual colors which is something that always bugged me on the BI ones, along with that damn shine which I see is not on yours. Would you however by chance be willing to retake this screencap https://dl.dropbox.com/u/28808032/pictures/hmmwv_9_mod.jpg but without the detail texture on the body? I don't know if it's just me but with the marks everywhere the default detail texture tends to make things look like concrete rather than metal. Laqueesha 474 Posted December 7, 2012 (edited) Amazing work so far! The M81 and DBDU look great! A few quick questions: I noticed that the M81 PASGT vest has a different swatch than the BDU, is this intentional? Also, will there be tinted sand-dust-wind G.I. goggles? Here's some reference photographs from March-April 2003 that may be of interest to you, may be some graphic imagery, be warned: http://www.fotos.geschichtsthemen.de/iraq-war/iraq.htm Because I want to be as accurate as possible I need a volunteer to make or modify weapons for me or I won't be able to release the units who would using those weapons. If you're interested, Vilas's weapons pack has an M16A1 with a 30-round STANAG magazine. Robert Hammer's weapons pack has a higher-poly M16A1, albeit with a 20-round STANAG magazine. Best of luck to you! :) Edited December 7, 2012 by Laqueesha
Delta Hawk 1829 Posted December 8, 2012 Laqueesha, I really appreciate it when people notice stuff like the flak fabric. The US GI PASGT flak has 4 different noticable fabrics and all the fabrics fade and absorb dirt differently. I have an actual US GI PASGT in my closet. So yes it's intentional. It's what it is in real life. While having a M16a1 would be nice for the airforce, I need more specifc weapons, like the Colt Model 737, M60/E3 and the M4A1 with 4 position collapsible LE stock. Scarecrow398, I'm trying to create a HMMWV that looks both dirty and clean so it can look like it belongs parked at the motor pool and out in the field, but realistically, unless an operator tries, HMMWVs generally don't get too dirty. Soldiers and Marines clean then regularly. But I'm also not done weathering it. NodUnit, the interior texture was made the same way, but without the dt map. In fact if you look closely at one of the interior pictures it shows how the non dt texture looks vs. the dt texture. US Military equipment is paint with a fine grainy paint that's easily scuffed up and after a couple years of driving through trees and bushes there's alot of little scratches and marks on the paint, similar to the dt map. I have no references of the T&E mount for the cargo variant, so as of right now I have no plans for a cargo version mounted with a weapons like off Three Kings or Generation Kill. max power 21 Posted December 8, 2012 Model 737? What does that look like? I'm only aware of the 727 or 733.
Delta Hawk 1829 Posted December 8, 2012 I meant 727. You're right. Too many numbers.
max power 21 Posted December 8, 2012 There are... way too many numbers and colt models all that that. I did an xm for arma and sorting through all of the different receiver styles and all that was the hardest part.
scarecrow398 43 Posted December 8, 2012 Model 737? What does that look like? I'm only aware of the 727 or 733. No 737 but there's hell of a lot of models out there, i made this up, noting the differences between each model that's been used at some point by the US military, seems it went in reverse chronological order so use the left arrow to go forward >_>

max power 21 Posted December 9, 2012 CWR2 has an m60 (not an e3), an xm177e2 (not a colt 727), and no m4. The weapons in cwr2 are all older than the ones he needs.

There was a weapon pack done for the Persian Hammer campaign that from what i remember had A1's, FN Minimi's, M60's and i think a pre-m4 colt model. Though you could always just use a regular M4 model and remove the knobs from the carrying handle. Edit: A colt 733 and a XM177E2 with a 30rnd mag, are the ones in the Persian hammer addons, for some reason they're not binarized and he hasn't been on since July :/ Edited December 9, 2012 by Scarecrow398
falcon_565 11 Posted December 9, 2012 Nice, they seem a little clean though, is that what you where going for?liking the Desert cam now too. Looking great as ever. Although I agree that both the units and the vehicles could use some more dirt/mud. Most missions made for ARMA don't represent units in garrison, they represent units in actual combat scenarios who have been fighting for hours or days in the field. I don't think you have to an extreme with weathering but I think the units should look like they've been rolling around in the dirt for a while.
