1 question: after we redeem the Apex expansion on steam, what happens next? Does it show up in the steam library? Or will we have to wait unti we receive the key?

I think it appears on the DLC list with the others after the release.

You don't need a key, because it's already added to your Steam account.

Hmm, It doesn't show up in mine.

I redeemed it twice on BIStore before it showed up. Maybe there was some delay with Steam, and it would have appeared with the first try anyway. Dunno.

Well, just checked, it shows up in mine too.

When I click the detail button (in the BI store screen) the third time, the option to "redeem on steam" appeared and it wasn't there the two previous attempts. When I selected this new option, it appeared on the licenses [sic] screen immediately.

The redeem in Steam was bit wierd. I needed to first click the blue redeem button so I log in Steam and then after that again the green button to finally redeem. Or the colours were other way around. Maybe you didn't redeem it fully?

Mine shows in the Greenfist's link.

For those interested I just posted some info on twitter:

BI is expanding its empire to Amsterdam!

http://www.bistudio.com/company/careers/office-manager

And some speculation:

wenn you go to the career page of BI http://www.bistudio.com/company/careers/ you will see alot of new jobs for ARMA......... unless alot of devs are leaving they are hiring alot of new people........ Something brewing in the BI kitchen???? :-)

The Amsterdam position has seemingly nothing to do with the game development side of things, but while the Brno solicitations could be due to turnover there's also the possibility of "crunch" in the last push(es) to Apex and beyond, particularly if trying to implement features (such as the vaguely-referenced UX improvements in Scanning the Horizon 2016) in time to make it into the Apex Update and thus sell people on the Apex expansion DLC*. From the looks of soliciting two senior engine programmers that could be for any of Bohemia's current titles and/or specifically for Enfusion, which in case anyone here hasn't heard is meant to be Bohemia's future, multiplatform (read: console capable) engine.

As for the Prague solicitations though... "We are looking for a [role] to join our development team in the studio's Prague office on an unannounced, original IP, Virtual Reality (VR) title."

* The same way that Operation Arrowhead included new features such as backpacks and FLIR, although they weren't getting added to vanilla Arma 2 the way Arma 3's features are.

Most, if not all of those have been there for at least 3 months.

True but this "project" is probely for  Martin Melicharek https://twitter.com/falagor/status/670179674622984192 ;-)

True but Tanoa has been worked on for at least 1 year now (seen the progres of the 1st video), why those positions over the last few months as they should have known far before that time they needed more "hands on deck" for Tanoa.

But like i said: it were just my thoughts and some speculations ;-)

I just meant that I wouldn't consider them "new" or "oh these things suddenly appeared recently". :p

Hint at new CSAT/OPFOR NVGs in Apex?

https://store.bistudio.com/products/a3-opfor

Looks like a Chinese/Russia-fied GPNVG-18 or PVS-21 with 7 (possibly 9?) tubes.

Though I get the feeling that even more people will be complaining about CSAT troops being even more bug-like now.

That thing reminds me this (spoiler alert!) , maybe some sort of electronic NVG or Thermal? dunno

The concept artist's name is Alex Jessup. His work is very futuristic military http://artoffuturewarfare.org/wp/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/Alex-Jessup-Helmet.png

Perhaps this may have had influence.

I am just wondering though why hasn't anything further then a VTOL and Light Strike Vehicle been mentioned. Is this their main set piece(s) only? I sincerely hope Apex doesn't suffer from lack of content or reskins. I do not count the Jet ski, the Prop plane or the Rigid Rubber duck as they are Civilian based vehicles. I am not going to pre-order at this stage. I am holding back till I see what value I get. As much as I love the game. Its the content that holds the Key. The island also may be a huge thing for them. But without really playable content we just have a greener island. If its limited I may just donate what I would have paid for the official expansion to a Mod maker. Again I would have paid more for more. But I will not pay for just a new plane. Fast dune buggy and a new gun or two.

I kinda agree. Though after doing some check overs, that Rigid Rubber Duck seems to be just the one we already have in game, but with simply a newer model with a wheel added to it, basically to make it look and feel more different from the Military ones without a wheel. So I'm guessing this is them trying to improve some of the minor copy pasta... Though I believe they said that the VTOL and LSV's were going to be the two only new vehicle classes. Meaning that there will be no more significant kinds of vehicles add to the game, aside from what we already have... As unfortunate as that sounds. So basically, we have..

-Fixed Wing

-Rotary Wing

-Cars

-Armored Vehicles

-Ships

-Static Weapons

Where as

-VTOL

-Light Strike Vehicles

Will be joining the handful. Those are the only two content additions they felt they wanted to introduce a bit more in depth, as we've known VTOL's were coming for a while now. The concept art actuall had me though, I thought it was in game image that was heavily edited until I took a close look. Im still disappointed no mention of indigenous Tanoan equipment like vessels and jeeps or light across island transportation for vehicles that can't swim. These are some things I find more essential and interesting. The things we can do without the help of a helicopter, as you won't always have a helicopter available in a wartime scenario to carry everything around.

Well if it is limited. So much for the major flash point event in the Pacific mentioned in the base game.
