broduz 71 Posted January 4, 2016 Tractors = Classic However, I am wondering if BIS plans on adding any more uniform variations. I was thinking perhaps one with Boot Gaiters (protect from those snakes) and another with Tactical Rain gear, seeing as how Tanoa is an archipelago in the Pacific

teabagginpeople 398 Posted January 4, 2016 Are there any news on the integration of DX12 ? This was mentioned at an game show event, but I was quite disappointed that it wasn't mentioned in the roadmap. dwarden did mention something about vulkans release dates being moved. Which could suggest they may be looking into the api situations.which is promising. Gotta say was hyped for directx 12. But at the moment windows 10 is becoming like a stalker gf.I am in no rush to make the move from windows 7 free upgrade or not.

Keep in mind that some of the spyware from Win 10 was also updated over to Win7 and 8. I am going to leave this video here. graemeshute 218 Posted January 4, 2016 What I wonder its why there are no news of a tractor. Each iteration of the Arma series and OFP has always had a tractor! Where is the tractor? BTW for those who are a bit old, or played OFP, the best gameplay moment involving a tractor was in "After Montignac". :P RHS presents Tractor Pack 2016. "Pilot" your very own battle tested slow Ford, John Deere or Massey Ferguson. Misty Ronin Approved.
Tankbuster 1746 Posted January 4, 2016 What's more impressive? That RHS has given a tractor or that Moisty Ronin approves of anything? :)
graemeshute 218 Posted January 4, 2016 The issues raised with about the desire for hand to hand and Stealth kills. i abandoned making stealth missions because Engine limitations didn't allow for subtleties like that. Pity that there isn't some Module being made officially you can Group or link it with AI that makes them less vigilante and the players movement more fluid to do Knife kills. As the concept video shows the Animation can be done but the Engine needs to support Stealth. I have been thinking and don't Tar and feather me for this idea. But it would be interesting if Hero units can be introduced. Much of what made Operation Flash point awesome was its unique characters. Sure from a game play perspective they didn't do anything different from each other. Other then Looks and Voice overs. But it would be interesting if A spec Ops operator had the ability to do be less visible from detection at night. Or a Support gunner (Machine Gunner) could carry additional Ammo without effecting stamina too much versus a non machine gunner. An Infantry Soldier could move quicker. This would only be tied to specs hero units. Perhaps a fire team leader could introduce faster unit movement. I think this is do able engine wise since its just tweaking the current values. By no means is this well thought out skill wise. But i would like to see Charterers that apart from looks did something unique.
CaptainAzimuth 714 Posted January 4, 2016 -EDIT I've already request BI develop a Vanilla Logistics system, which has been Assigned, but not a single word on such a thing thus far. It would be fantastic to see Infantry not just being able to do things without logical assistance. However, i want to see much more infantry and combined arms game play that is... infantry focused, but brings the opportunity to use more things like static emplacements and even putting up base defenses live in gameplay without the use of scripts. This would make Arma 3 feel more complete. I want to see more use of content that doesn't get used in a lot of missions because of balance issues. For example, take the Mortar, get rid of the map click kill, and give the passenger seat a working integrated chart consisting of real values that would mean two people would sit on that Mortar, one calculates, one ranges and fires while the team mates would of course give feedback as to where the rounds land. No more complaints about easy click and kill, more complaints about hardcore skills and use of legitimate tactics. Anyhow, who knows. there's a large portion of niche things that i think Arma 3 could use that would make it feel like a Combined Arms Infantry focused game, right now it's just grab a gun, a vehicle, run and shoot. It's fun, but the gameplay gets stale after awhile. we'll have to wait and see what BI have in store for us this year. Should get interesting in the next few weeks or so. Lets be honest without support or logistics in real life an Army isn't going anywhere. And you right. It is select a load out, mount up and go kill everything. I have watched a lot of Luiten09's Zeus missions. Logistics as is, is just a helo drop of supplies. That is that. You cant really set up as players bunkers. Static weapons are a mission. They cant really be packed into a Vehicle already set up driven to a set position and removed and used. Sure you can place said tri-pod and weapon system as backpacks in a Vehicle then. Get there you put them on then off again when you want to set it up. But its very backwards and forwards. No Ammo was modeled for any of the Statics so the closest you get to re-arming is a HEMITT. I haven't even tested if you can re-arm a Static because they seem to be once they set up they just never gonna be moved. I know ACE for ArmA 2 had better functions for this. But again Third party when a official system is needed. You cant get your Platoon to carry Mortars or Extra .50 Cal ammo. So that makes Statics further useless. Here e is some intersting Videos on Logistics
CaptainAzimuth 714 Posted January 4, 2016 Here e is some intersting Videos on Logistics Pretty much. Now i understand that we'll probably never see that high fidelity of Logistics, if any at all. But on a more manageable scale, it should be crucial for gameplay. Another thing to note, are vehicle to accommodate such features, such as the Amphibious Logistical Vehicle you saw in the Vietnam video at 10:15. Something like that with a Flatbed would be amazing to have, you wouldn't need to constantly use Helicopters to transport multiple vehicles, gear, or ammunition boxes, you could simply push them on into the flatbed, and sail across to a friendly occupied point, or drop off point and use land vehicles to transport them where ever they're needed on land. This would be sort of like the first stage, or feature of logistics in Arma 3. The second stage could be of course, better, more robust handling of Infantry interaction with things like fortifications and emplacements. But i suppose that could come at a later date if t all. We'll have to see how far BI have come with Apex and the likes. Given Apex drops Q2 on schedule, and Eden Q1, i can estimate that by the end of February Eden should be out, and by the end of probably June, Apex. Though, i sense they might hold Apex back to Q3, if they're still dealing with some of the limitations they had mentioned a while back.
en3x 209 Posted January 4, 2016 There is one simple video and concept that sold me on logistic aspect of the game. 2min Simply taking the noozle and tanking even with all limitation of PhyX rope and no animations accompanying it still felt really compelling. And this could go for everything - helicopters, airplanes, trucks.

Yeah, i saw that too, and i honestly thought why BI couldn't just make a separate model for RopeX that resembles a hose, and call it FuelX, that you can use to refuel vehicles from fuel trucks. zukov 490 Posted January 5, 2016 The second quarter will finally deliver more details on the contents of the expansion. It's also when our window for letting you board your flights to Tanoa opens. february is gone...
CaptainAzimuth 714 Posted January 5, 2016 february is gone... Well, given its been known Eden comes Q1 and Apex Q2, you'd be well to have guessed no leaks of content were to make out before April, which is the start of Q2. I can personally hold out for the next 3 months given things should get interesting enough with the new lighting, water shaders, and under water dog that were talked about briefly, and very vaguely.
