NoRailgunner 0 Posted July 11, 2012 Noticed some strange things: instant swap from one to another weapon sight/tool - at least there should be a reasonable time + animation to fix/adjust these things; AI patrol/walking around with flashlights/IR laser on; able to go through thicker bushes without noise or scratches helicopters still don't have warning strobe lights and seem to have only all lights on/off according to their set behaviour (what about a powerfull search light - working for AI aswell?) Hope we will see more of how A3 works and what else is new or different to A2OA, A1 and OFP/CWA. Btw will there be eastereggs in A3 or something like christmas trees/special atmosphere/aura-breeze? :)
metalcraze 290 Posted July 11, 2012 (edited) At 2:52 the soldiers turn instantly in the direction of the gunfire. I have never seen that before. No more like they react to bullets landing near them and Jay/Ivan quickly turned away to hide how unnatural and wrong the reaction looked (unfinished suppression system?) Same as him running into the opposite direction of the car door the soldier was teleporting through into the car to hide the lack of entering animations. You gotta grow some balls Jay/Ivan and not be afraid to show it how it really is. Edited July 11, 2012 by metalcraze
Smurf 12 Posted July 11, 2012 You aren't expecting entering animations for every vehicle as TKOH, are you? A simple animation as we have right now is more than sufficient, or better than instant teleport as in other games. As AI... oh well, didn't notice anything that different from A2, which is sad. Smurf 12 Posted July 11, 2012 It would be one more thing to syncronized in an already crowed MP environment and if we take APCs doors\ramps in consideration, probably one more problem to handle for AIs. However, Devs already stated that they (at some point) had the intention to include this feature. We'll see, afterall right now anyone can claim that "this is only Alpha, things will change..." :j:
Tonci87 163 Posted July 11, 2012 That was a nice video. It was fun to watch because the gamestar guy prepared some really good questions.
metalcraze 290 Posted July 11, 2012 I'm not expecting any door entering animations and I don't really care if they will have them or not. Opening doors on the other hand would be pretty cool. Even without an animation for infantry.

And maybe Jay/Ivan looked away because they didn't want to shoot the soldiers.
myshaak 0 Posted July 12, 2012 No more like they react to bullets landing near them and Jay/Ivan quickly turned away to hide how unnatural and wrong the reaction looked (unfinished suppression system?) I don't think that's the case. It may look a lot like it but it seems like an unfortunate timing to me for two simple reasons - you see them casually walking back in the next seconds and they didn't switch off their flashlights, both indicating a non-combat mode. I think the AI leader just picked a bad time to say TWO, move to, THAT, SPLENDID CHEMLIGHT! :)

And metalcraze... Yeah - of course - first thing we think is that there's something bad / broken / buggy, right?! LOL... :j: (Edit: I'm not saying that there isn't much unfinished! ;) Just that general attitude pisses me off a bit. But well...) Maio 293 Posted July 13, 2012 placeholder means the NATO/West rifle is just there until the Iranian/East rifle he is meant to be holding is finished ;) No, it means that BI don't give a damn about what we the community want and add's spec ops elite unrealistic weapons to the game. This once again proves that BI only cares about the money. I don't know why but the elevated structure, the soldiers looking down and that sun glare give me a "evil corporations run the world" feeling. The music from Deus Ex HR rang in my had when I saw it :p
zukov 490 Posted July 13, 2012 I understood by the way, are there some confirmations about reloading animations for each handheld weapon?

nodunit 397 Posted July 13, 2012 (edited) Quite perdy quite perdy, outside of a few nuances I sometimes forget that this is the next Arma. I quite like the new town, fun to see something akin to what we saw in the Game2 screenshots long ago, the shadow render distance really helps the scene pop and get rid of that.."odd" feeling. Is that a previously unseen Iranian vest on the guy on the left?] Looks like the OFPOR load bearing vest. http://www.arma3.com/full/wp-content/gallery/blueprints/arma3_nato_soldier_parts.jpg Edited July 13, 2012 by NodUnit

You know full well the alpha isn't even ready, the setting is in the future, and the work is not done. If this is the loadout for the final game I'll eat your most mangy, stepped on, dragged across the pasture hat you have. (please fix, BIS, I hate the taste of brims) Edit: Sry, the deadpan sarcasm was lost on me. See it now.. NARF! Edited July 13, 2012 by Scrub
