the community will a " all on a level " patch - or maby DLC

make all units from arma2 on a AO level.

and building configs ;)

its not so fine in arma 2 and OA the small doghouse need 2 sabot and the big hospital you can kill with 50 30mm rounds .........:o

the game need a uniformly config redesign ;)

Backpacks, weapons features, Thermal,......

the bulding configuraton.

so many buildings from OFP / ARMA in arma2.

and all have different hitpoints configurations.

look the hospital in arma2, 20 30mm rounds from ah1 and the half building its down. 20 more and you see from the huge building no more as sand.

with a 30mm

and the other small house need over 15 120mm sabot and the house goes a little down.

the destruction level has a terrible different ...............

the game design need a rework !

I will pay for this 10€

Which would be good. Right now the game is a bit of a mess when it comes to uniformity. Would be great if it was done through a big patch but I wouldn't mind it in a dlc either (cause its quite a lot of work). However, for compatibility purposes, a patch might be the only way to go...

Config fixes could be easily done as a community project; people are doing it all the time.

Perhaps submitting such fixes to BI (through CIT etc), could perhaps lead to inclusion in some patch.

Im pretty sure he is just asking BIS to update all the content we have so far to OA standards.

heat configs, FLIR, nvg compatible sights, secondary sights etc etc.

anyways I agree.

some of the A2 content should be alittle bit more polished too thats all i want from them in the future.

Well, it's simply unrealistic to expect these significant of changes when the game is already out, maybe you'll see them in Arma 3. The FLIR updates and other stuff, on the other hand, are more realistic to expect.

It's to much to do to bring the A2 contend to A2:OA level !

Mods have done this already...very small mods in size...the main part is just adding some .cfg lines. The only real work would be IR textures, but that's secondary in the first line since full functionality comes first.

That's why we have a small free 10 MB Anzins mod that does half of this work (and it even improves some weapons from OA)!

And 40 KBs TGW Vehicle Fixes that do many things to AA2 vehicles including adding thermal sights to T-90

So half of the job is already done for BIS. Why don't they just incorporate those fixes into a patch?

I mean all we need now is thermal textures for original units and that's basically it.

I think you're wrong. You can't add backpack support and remove the default backpacks simply by some config work. Some magickery is needed in the models.

if small wooden house has bigger armor than whole concrete building - it is shame

but it can be fixed by patch, when BIS will (if it has such bug) change (if such bug exist) armor in cfg of buildings

It'd be better if they did a complete overhaul whenever they make Arma 3, and please BIS if you do make Arma 3 get better sounds and effects in the game!

this game is mil-sim-like , tactical etc. not hollywood-CoD

for sound and big booom movie effect there are usual shooters like CoD, MoH

Arma is mil-sim for training, tactic, for retired or disabled soldiers etc. (+ moders to turn game to what they want , medieval knights, dinosaurs, star wars, WW1, WW2 , Lego Warriors etc. )
