Nothing against sniping, but from what you folks write here, it seems to me that there are too much snipers allowed per side

Limiting the number allowed per side might help but it doesn't do anything to make people who get a sniper slot use it properly.

Well I guess this is then their Problem. But limiting snipers to two or three per side would balance the whole stuff

I personally havent noticed a lot of sniping (admitidly I only really play conquest mode)

The game is really too fluid (+killcam) to allow sniping/camping for any length of time as one needs to relocate after a kill or you quickly find yourself outmaneuvered.

plus the fear of leaving yourself open to a sneak knife attack is high (I dont mind being shot, but i find being knifed humilliating)

I cant speak for rush mode though.

For Archery training, explore the southern most mountain area below Riverwood *(or whatever the first little village is you come to when you first get out of the underground section at the start of the game). There is a women living alone in a cabin ontop of a ridge, go and be friendly to her and she will give you free lessons, which get your levels up a good 3/4 levels

Apparently they're thinking about adding a counter measure against mortars. Not sure I like their choice though.

what?

mortars are easy to counter though, set up your own and fire where his is on the map, you get shown their position anyway

Quite loving Skyrim, put over 30 hours in that beast already over the weekend, money's worth! :)

Re the fighting system, I too was a little put off by it, but this is mostly because The Witcher 2 has spoiled me in this area, and i've come to terms already with it.

@MaddMatt & Igneous01; If you like a good fighting system, grab the Witcher 2 (grab patch 2.0!), you need to learn some skills to get to the really great fighting...

Fighting is btw not the only great part about that game, I would give it a 9.8 rating (1-10).

already played it, lovely game indeed witcher 2, too bad the story was soo short. Otherwise, im hoping they come out with the third part

I cant think of a single rpg game that had a good combat system, they were always stat based on rolls and crit and bunch of other percentage stackers.

maybe the RPG devs should look into fighting games for better combat system implementation?

Gothic II had it pretty right, it also already had the A.I. livign their life thing and Dragons...and a all in one much more convincing world.

I guess it sucked international just because of the bad englich syncro...the original german one was first class. In facts it was Oblivion that made me loose interest in RPG..and The witcher was simply to linear and restricting.

Yes Gothic2 with the addon Night of the raven is still one of the best RPGs I ever played!

Well I searched for her all tonight but I didn't find her. Is she even more south than Helgen (The place where the game starts)?

Man I really need to update my graphics card barely keeping a 30fps on here at my native res 1680x1050 with medium settings.

UI for PC is complete ass but hopefully will be fixed soonish by modders and made a 1000% better than the current.

Hey is this game really quiet to anybody else? I have my speakers up to almost max which I never need too, this game seems very quiet and all my ingame and OS settings are maxed too.

Well, it doesn't really makes me think about the 90's racing games.

Maybe it was just me, but I mostly played Midtown Madness, Mostertruck Madness, MotoRacer, Destruction Derby and some Rally/Nascar games.

I think the closest thing I played was POD.

damn hell this game is fun. huge fun. and the player movements feel so very fluid and are just right (if a bit fast).

sure there's a bunch of frustrating things, but they are canceled out by the sheer action to be had. never had a problem with snipers, just keep zig zagging and they mostly miss. Thouygh one guy was good and popped me driving a buggy in an attack. one shot kill. my response was - damn good shot as i drive erratically.

they challenge to me is countering whatever it is that's helping the enemy win.

Lol no, fire your mortar, pack it up and move a couple meters away, fire, rinse and repeat. At that point only lucky counter-battery fire will get you.

Yeah it sucks, I tend to use my G35 headset because of this reason.

What I never lieked about the Elder Scrolls games is that you end up beeing a spell casting magic sword wielding paladin berserk thief orc. In Gothic it was either sword or magic but you could never master alll skills like in elder scrolls....and money was always rare in Gothic. Is there still world leveling accordign to player level in Skyrim so that you never encounter unvincible oponents.

No they don't level to your level, it's completely different to oblivion in that retrospect.

You could just get trained by Faendal or if you want to fire at some targets go behind the companions house jaarvasker.

It seems you need to change the windows volume before starting the game. If you have it low and then start the game, and then raise the volume during the game, it seems not to go very loud..

Enough replayability by making different choices and thus different story arcs.

Agreed. If they could just tone down the movement speed a bit...
