CM Operation Flashpoint 3 announced | "Oops, they're doing it again..."

Recommended Posts

Whining about a free update to a 10 year old game is just something we expect to come from people "over there". :)

You mind explaining what that even means?

Hearing that BI wants to take CWC back and preserve it is nice but how will this effect Cold War Rearmed?

It will delay patches :p Most of the CWR 2 team is playing CWA and loving it.

I hope that the experience of one heightens the enjoyment of the other. You have a new patch for an old gem and a new take on a classic living side by side.

Indeed, I can't wait to try out the CWR demo in two days.

Lulz, the only developer appearance since release was to close the thread questioning Lentons role in making the game.

Where?

EDIT

By the way, the new DLC trailer is released:

The DLC adds a gargantuan ... 8 new FTE's!

Haha yeah, saying that making games is a team effort. So instead of Sion Lenton having no clue as the original poster questioned, he is saying that the owners, general management, lead developers, developers, testers (I have more confidence in the existence of unicorns than I have in testers working for CM) and administrative staff haven't got a clue.

Smart move ... Nice ... :yay:

It looks like they are all single missions which is a pity. I haven't really bother to give them the time of day. The campaign was well worthy, but one attempt at the a million enemies attack you mission and I'd gone far enough.

If I didn't have any other games to play... maybe. But I do.

Dnote isn't a developer, he's just a community Liaison. Like Placebo, here.

The only actual developers that post on those forums are Sion and Tim (out of a large development team)

From what I have heard from an ex developer at CM, there is high turnover there.

Evident that they are not only screwing their community but also their employes.

Yeah, It does seem quiet on the moderator front there.

Laughably it's not just moderators that are AWOL from their forums - it's the devs too :D

Perhaps they are working on a different title currently?

I would have thought Red River was well enough received to warrant a continuation at some point, but that place is a factory. They churn out games.

Well for being honest Ben . . . it doesn't surprise me very much. it happened with DR it happens now with RR. I'm reading the CM forum . . . there's so much frustration to be seen, simply because CM don't support their games nor do they support their community. That's why I never signed up over there.

The difference is that BIS took the heavy flak straight on when ArmA II was released with all the bugs in the campaign. problems of all kind of sorts.

I support BIS because they support their products and moreover the community and you know that, because you're sticking around for some time now. ArmA isn't a perfect game and I doubt that any new ArmA version will ever be released without flaws. I believe it's impossible due to the nature of ArmA and BIS game in the first place. I know that BIS will do everything they can and patch their games until most of the bugs are ironed out.

Once you understand the greatness and the vastness of Arma the more you are inclined to close an eye on eventual initial flaws. At least to me it happened. I'm playing for 10 years now and I still have a great fun.

Best game investment I ever made in my life.:bounce3:

Cheers

Yes, I know. There's alot of frustration over where the developers are and what they're doing.

BI have been really good with bugs, flaws and their community - Definitely one of the best developers I've seen so far. Infact; most developers like this are indie/small PC developers, like BI, TWI, ED and so on.

I don't think its a problem with signing up, just don't buy any DLC for PC. That way they won't have your credit card.
