let me use metaphor of movies:

1) you have for example movie about sens of life, being good for people, truth and attitude to good dees in lifetime (let's call it moral film) lets say "Life as fatal disease" - Polish movie about thoughts of doctor who dies on cancer and his thoughts about being helpless (doctor, medician knows he will die and even start to search for god and he tries to help to people as much as he can in his last week of life )

2) you have bodybuilded guy with AK or M16 in hands who shoot to everything, meanwhile beauty woman in bikini run by beach , later she shows her tits, guy with gun fires and truck explode

do you believe that first movie will get better public than second one ?

how much people read Dostoevsky, Prus, Bulhakov over Harlequins, how many people like movies from Zanussi, or even American 12 angry men or how many people like "The Insider" over "Rambo" ?

do you know IQ stats ?

above 110 has only 20% of population, if you are 120 you are among 8% of population

this is the answer why RR has bigger public than A2

while A2 is best than most of games taken together

BIS made best game ever (OFP), and so what ? ;) more kids play CoD (and maybe better, we have them far away from us and they not spoil fun too often)

BIS product is worthy 100 EUro, not 20 USD for disc

if you compare games, compare all culture products - books, movies, music etc.

I don't understand how that review works out to a set of scores in the sixes (lower than Arma 2 got, incidentally).

Perhaps the higher scores are restricted to triple A shooters like CoD and BF and Halo.

Played this through the other day.

I enjoyed the SP and it's become a LAN hit at my house.

It's a great game. A big improvement on the previous offering.

I notice it deservedly got decent reviews.

I won't bother paging back to see if it got any positive ones here. LMAO.

I hope they go on to make a MP expansion. That game is ripe to go Battlefield.

I wonder if their netcode is strong enough.

I think they have all the components in place to make a quick PC only expansion that would sell well if it is.

I'm not exactly sure what your trying to say but if your suggesting that a Red River MP expansion could compete with Battlefield 3 MP you must be afflicted with temporary insanity.

So, method to success for BIS.

Remove the Mission Editor, remove free roam, implement tether, implement CoD movement mechanics, add a Sgt Shouty McRacist, add leaderboards, add simple repetitive co-op missions, and only add to them once a month. Lock out modding and charge for the missions that could be done with the Mission Editor.

Obviously this is the way, because RR got great reviews.

I hate ArmA fanbois. only because they exude greatness out of a product that has its own problems and glitchiness and errors... which they ALWAYS overlook. He forgets that ArmA2.. wouldnt run when released and BI had to release an emergency patch for you to even play it. then add Ai going thru walls, horrible mem leaks and specs that make no sense, watching people warp around the battle field is pretty neat tho... yeah you got an awesome game.... I guess its all good as long as it looks good right?

I still play OFP and IMO is better than any of the arma series. I would rather play with friends and enjoy it than go "OOo how pretty" and get 20 frames out of it.
