  1. ABOUT THE SERVER Our public Insurgency server is a Dedicated Server built to run fun ArmA 2 style Insurgency ACE & ACRE missions, but with ArmA 3 with updated and modern versions of addons such as ACE and Task Force Radio. For those who played ACE and ACRE Insurgency servers back in ArmA 2, we are trying to revive the gameplay style along with other servers doing the same to provide a fun and realism experience on a public server. This server will be up 24/7 unless updates or restarts are needed. The server may under go mission changes as we like to switch the terrain up from time to time, so don't worry about having to play the same terrain over and over again. We will keep the mission style to insurgency but some missions may have a slight difference depending on the scripting that went into the different missions. These missions are pulled from mission devs that are not part of our group, but will be modified for a better experience, such as adding ACE, Task Force Radio and CUP Terrains. HOW TO JOIN To join our server, all you need is the required addons and the latest version of ArmA 3. REQUIRED ADDON LIST ACE3 ACEX CBA A3 CUP_Terrains_Core CUP_Terrains_Maps Task Force Radio HOW TO PLAY For those of you new players that have not played these style of missions, we will describe how to play. Insurgency is a mission of clearing red grid squares that indicates towns or buildings, within those red markers are hostiles. You objective is not only to clear red squares to turn them into blue or green squares, but also retrieve intel of ammo caches in the region. Intel can be in forms of cell phones, radios, documents, pictures and even talk to civilians for intel. Once intel is acquired, red question marks with a number next to it will pop up on the map. Those question marks will give the approximate distance in meters of the cache from the marker. Once you find the cache, you are to detonate the cache. Once all 12 ammo caches are detonated around the map, the mission will end and restart or move on to the next insurgency map. If players do not want to cache hunt anymore, that is fine. There are also randomly generated side missions that generate around the map, such as, Eliminate HVT's, destroy IED factories, Destroy enemy convoy, Capture and much more. These missions will also give the players rewards such as new vehicles and equipment back at main base if the task has been a success. Being part of our server with the Task Force Radio addon requires all players to join our Teamspeak server for communication. This allows players to have a better realism experience having to use radios to communicate from one side of the map to the other. This also allows better organization in the server for multiple teams of people to communicate with out stepping over each other with default in-game communications. 2. Unit Update: Cadet program opened. The 1st Ranger Battalion cadet program will allow younger members from ages 14 and 15 to enlist with the unit. Being part of the cadet program means that those members will only be able to reach certain ranks and certain abilities until they have met the age of 16. Cadets can only enlist as infantry as of now, however in infantry they may choose from infantry roles, Rifleman, Grenadier, Automatic Rifleman, they may also choose from Sappers (Combat Engineers) or Medics. Cadets will only be able to make it to Private First Class (PFC), which is a member that has completed all mandatory training, Basic Combat Training and Advanced Combat Training. Cadets will be under close watch due to age and possible maturity levels. Reserves program opened. The 1st Ranger Battalion reserves has opened and will allow members who cannot fully attend official unit events on Friday's and Saturday's to still be part of this unit and attend events when they can, however, every reserve member must check in at least once every month, if check ins are not made, the member maybe discharged from the unit. For more questions or enlistment, view our forums or jump on our Teamspeak stated above in the main topic.
  3. The 1st Ranger Battalion is not new to the ArmA scene. The 1st Ranger Battalion has been around since late 2013 and has been in the community for 3 years until switching the unit to the 509th PIR. The 1stRB has been revived from the original founder. The 1stRB strives to be a Milsim environment for players to enjoy and have a great Milsim experience. The 1stRB provides weekend operations and training on Friday's and Saturday's. Friday nights being training and Saturday nights being private unit operations which is organized and executed like real world operations. The 1st Ranger Battalion is not a place for every one though, we like members to maintain a mature attitude and follow unit SOP's when in unit events. The 1stRB also enforces discipline upon its members, to keep the organization in top notch condition and keep a good public image. The 1st Ranger Battalion will be operating just like the real Ranger Battalion in the U.S Army. We will be conducting different raids, patrols, assaults and even some defense objectives. The objectives can vary from High Value Target take downs, hostage rescue, intel gathering, capture and more. Our missions will be ran as a campaign and the outcome of each mission will vary on how we do. Most of our missions will be using an addon called ALiVE, which allows a dynamic mission to be played and progress to be saved, we do not use Zeus or MCC in our missions against our own troops, so don't expect any sort of heavy PvP. The 1st Ranger Battalion provides multiple training courses to help our members gain the knowledge and be able to coordinate and work with each other in the field. These training courses will provide basic knowledge for the unit when operating in the field. It is mandatory for every member to go through the necessary training depending on the MOS they have chose. The 1st Ranger Battalion operates on Friday's for training and Saturday's for deployments/operations. Each official unit event will be based of U.S Pacific Standard Time. Every official event will be scheduled at 4pm PST. Promotional Video: 11B Infantryman - High Demand 68W Combat Medic - High Demand 12B Combat Engineer "Sapper" - Medium Demand 19K Armored Crewman - Low Demand 11(X) - Low Demand - Members 16+ years of age (Cadet program for those below 16 years) - Members with a good attitude. - Mature and responsible members. - Respectful members. - Honest members. - Members with good unit activity. - Members willing to follow orders/commands. - Members who work as a team. - Members who follow the 7 core army values. Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity and Personal Courage. - U.S Army rank structure. - Roles and duties per rank. - Training and deployments. - Disciplinary actions (No in-game push-ups or running etc. Article 15's 3 strike rule.) - Organized departments and squads. - Each member assigned to a fire team and squad. - Organized operations and briefings. On deploy and in the field we play and act as a realism unit, no messing around. Off deploy and training, we play other games, still keeping our level of realism within and without the Teamspeak and other games, Chain of Command and rank structure still applies. BCT (Basic Combat Training) Mandatory training for everyone AICT (Advanced Infantry Combat Training) Mandatory training for infantry ACCT (Advanced Crewman Combat Training) Mandatory training for crewman AACT (Advanced Aviation Combat Training) Mandatory training for pilots Airborne School Tied in with AICT Leadership Course Optional (Required for team leads and above) We take training to a serious matter. We expect all members by 1-2 weeks to be have BCT completed. AIT is a infantry ONLY course, Pilots and Armored Crewman don't need AIT. 4. Yeah, I was looking at some images, but another thing I was keeping in mind was frames. I am working on a new version with some areas with dense treelines and some more hilly/mountainous terrain for small ftx's in those type of environments.
  5. Well as I said, its not mean't for beauty and is specifically mean't for training purposes for units looking for a wide variety of training space for custom built areas. Sorry this terrain doesn't fit your needs. Thank you for reviewing.
  6. Some ranges are built and all that is needed to be placed are targets, other ranges that are empty are ones for units and people to build their own custom ranges.
  7. Haha, good story and thanks for the images. Sadly I cannot get the terrain anymore shitty unless a complete overhaul, but non the less hope you are enjoying it so far.
  8. Ah, thank you. I thought there was a feature where the multi brush tool can allow objects to follow the slope.
  9. Hey Scimitar, since I have 0 real world military experience I have no idea where or what "Drag Ass Hill" is. As I made this terrain with little information I can gather through google maps. I also made this terrain for the ArmA unit I am in and a few "Unrealistic" terrain feature are or will be added. Such as mountains that don't actually exist in this area. Thank you for taking interest in the terrain!
  10. Hey guys, back already with a small update to fix the clutter issue. For some reason my clutter was not showing, but now that is fixed. Fort Jackson v1.1 Download: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwO9rIv0F5O4clRjQUxzVUpJamM/view?usp=sharing
  11. Fort Jackson, South Carolina I have finally got my terrain builder working! I can finally continue my progress on my terrains! About this project: This terrain is based on Fort Jackson training grounds. This terrain will be a bit off from real world as it is intended and built for ArmA units and people looking for a training ground with ranges that are built according to real satellite imagery. The buildings and compounds will be different and changed, roads, foliage and geographical features will be as accurate as I can get them. There are a LOT of empty areas and ranges as you may notice when exploring, this is done on purpose for individuals and units to build their own training areas. This terrain will be modified and not resemble the real world terrain 100% and is not meant to look pretty, it is purely made for the unit I am currently in! This terrain is intended for individuals or groups to use as a training ground. Required Addons: None Release State: v1.1 Features: Main spawn area. Accurate tree lines. Multiple ranges (Both built and empty for custom ranges). Partially built MOUT area (Partially built on purpose for custom MOUT layouts). Airport. EOD area. Ordnance and Heavy Weapons range (Mortars, vehicles, static weapons, etc). Fort Jackson Photo Gallery (NOTE: The images in the gallery are from when this terrain was Work in Progress): Download V1.1: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwO9rIv0F5O4clRjQUxzVUpJamM/view?usp=sharing Please report back any issues about this terrain, thank you.
  12. I actually did watch that specific video you stated and others numerous times before coming here. Doesn't work in the multibrush tool. I check SLO and go into multibrush and no object slope alignment. Go into the multibrush tool, and try to activate SLO, gave me a message saying no object selected, same process for the keybinding. In the video I saw Silola only use it with the single brush tool. In the past when I used this tools for some of my maps I felt like multibrush already had slope alignment on, but now it just doesn't work for me. In the past 2-3 weeks I have been using the group function and then enabling SLO which works, but requires a pinch more work. I will try and reinstall XCam to see if something is corrupted and see if I have any luck. Thank you.
  13. Already been there, watched the videos, nothing about multibrush slope alignment from what I saw.
  14. Working on a terrain right now and would love to use X-Cam to place small rocks on the sides of hills/mountains/slopes. I use the multibrush tool, but I can't get the objects to align to the sloped angles, so the rocks just kinda lay flat hanging off the slope with one end floating instead of flowing with the slope. Is there a way to allow multibrush to follow sloped angles on a terrain? I looked through all of the tutorials and even searched here and elsewhere to see if anyone else had a similar encounter. Thank you.
  15. Bad news... again... For some reason, everything I terraformed went back to being flat except for the hill/mountain on the bottom right of the terrain. This is the 3rd time, the tools have failed on my system with some sort of game breaking experience. This is the most depressing moment of my terrain building experience, all of the objects are still in place but the rivers, the terrain land detail is all gone back to default of when I first started this project. This is 100% my favorite terrain I was most proud of. I hate investing all this time in these terrain to only make it half way then a failure happens, it is really frustrating and annoying. I want to help bring new detailed terrains to the community but things like this happen, where it reverts me weeks and even multiple months back. The MOST angering and depressing part is the pre-beta release was literally just a week away and again, this happens! I don't know guys. I want to still deliver, I don't want to drop another project away from the community. Again the objects are still placed and I can still edit the terrain, so this may not be the end of the terrain. I plan to continue for the community and the followers of this terrain. Updates will be posted and a release may be here soon with just some basic terraforming done such as the rivers and other main features, the fields and open areas will be just be flat... some with a few rocks and bushes. Thank you guys for any support, and updates will come soon.
