    EasyFIA for Global Mobilization

Some buddies and I were pining for the old Resistance days just recently, too! This'll be a fine addition to the collection once Contact goes live, thanks! ...It'd be a fine addition sooner but getting 20-odd people to use the dev branch is like herding cats. grumble grumble...

    East Wind Rearmed

As ever, your texture work is outstanding! This is a really cool project, can't wait to see where it goes from this strong initial offering!

Arma 3 - Creator DLC Discussion

Project RACS has a dependency on RHS, and the legal hurdles of making paid content that relies on someone else's free work are... many, to say the least. Not to mention the moral hurdles of doing so. It ain't happening.

Hmmmmm, gee, those roads look... familiar... to something else RHS-related being teased around 😛

    RHS Escalation (AFRF and USAF)

Happened across the new mines and grenades (or should I say... old mines and grenades?) in the dev branch last night and I just gotta say wow, guys- you really do spoil us for choice! I'm glad to see you're finding places to stick more Westwall content in RHS, it's all of a fantastic quality, and as a big fan of the history of WWII-era kit being used postwar, it brings a smile to my face- thank you!
  7. Holy shit, I've spent the last hour just... looking at all the little details in the editor. How your animations change depending on how fast you're driving on the motorcycle, the animations for hatches, reloading, the way the engine sounds clunk and clatter, the smoke screens on the east german vehicles, just... all of it. You guys clearly put a lot of love into this, and it shows! Thank you!

Dude, you're a champ! Thank you so much for filling this gap- before there's even a gap to fill, no less!

    Faces of War [WW2]

Jesus, it's like being back in retail. Well, to offer a dissenting and more agreeable opinion: Modding, like any creative venture, is yours to do with, yours to set a timeframe on, and yours to enjoy first and foremost. You owe nobody nothing and it's your choice to release things when and if you feel they deserve to be released, not anyone else's. This is not a service industry, you're not being paid, you're making things for a game you enjoy out of the goodness of your heart- or maybe a stubbornness to see it there, whatever keeps the motor fueled, eh? Point is, the moment it becomes an obligation- or somebody treats it that way- it stops being something you feel passionate about, and at that point, you're fully in your rights not to release anything at all. People moan and cry about what's gonna 'kill the community' all the time, and I think the mindset that free content entitles them to anything but a download button is a strong contender. Keep doing what you're doing at the pace it works for you, fellas- I'm excited to see what comes of it! 😀
  10. This is the stuff dreams were made from. If this is what we can expect with this initiative, I'm excited to see what the future brings- congrats guys, and thank you!

    PRACS: SLA Faction 2017

Hey folks! Got a few in-action shots of the work being done with the SLA assets! No fancy blurbs this time, but I figured y'all would like to see something a bit more exciting than just some static poses! Until next time! Viva la revolución!
  12. Ooooh! There's ALWAYS a need for more good, generic OPFOR, and these fit the bill wonderfully! Looking forward to 'em, keep up the great work!
  13. Pardon my french but holy shit that was a watch! Excellent work, gents!

    PRACS: SLA Faction 2017

Couldn't have said it better myself. The Eastern Bloc is the heaviest inspiration for the SLA's forces, and if anyone in the modern era has a working relationship with them, it'd be the successor states to said bloc. That said, there has likely been a bit of a diplomatic warming between the DRS and the rest of the world since the '06 war, but it is highly unlikely that south american states using primarily imported weapons of their own would be jumping to sell those stocks to a country still facing that kind of a taboo. I should also note that despite being a Spanish-speaking country, Sahrani is more closely descended from Spain than south america. Hell, BI, in their... er... infinite wisdom... put the country's 'official' coordinates as between the US and Europe, so if anything, their influences come from the northern hemisphere, not the south.

    PRACS: SLA Faction 2017

The SLA are a pseudolatin pseudocommunist military force, not dash cam rejects or the Sicilian mob. There will be no cheeky breeky here, gringo.
  20. I logged on, woke myself up at this ridiculously early hour (9 AM! Like an animal!), and replied just to say that is the worst pun I've heard in a week. I'm so proud ;___; Oh and thanks for filling an oft-overlooked niche in addons with these really nice retextures, I didn't know I needed these but now I can't play without them, etc. That too.

    PRACS: SLA Faction 2017

Could take a bit of doing, but I can probably organize something. Once there's more, of course! SO MUCH to sort out, organize, make up on the spot...
  22. Amen, brother. I can't give you guys enough kudos for aiming for the spirit of the old OFP, including the weird quirks! Not that I'm biased towards updating things from older games but retaining their weird quirks...

    PRACS: SLA Faction 2017

Yeah, they've got a little bit of that, don't get me wrong- SLA requisitions has quite a few headache thanks to the Guards demanding 'cooler' equipment (Or as they'd put it, 'weapons fitting of the most dedicated soldiers of the Revolución!') but at the end of the day, they are meant to back that image up by being the tip of the spear in any conflict. How WELL they'd do is to be seen...

    PRACS: SLA Faction 2017

The Guards are something of a middle-ground between something like the Airborne/Rangers and better-equipped conscripts. Their best guys probably scratch right up against the middle of the pile for a first-world country's elite divisions, but their greenest guys are just conscripts with more patriotic fervor and a bit more body armor. They get -74s and the occasional fancy optic, but don't mistake 'motivated' for 'elite.' As for their use of BMD-2s: Given their use as shock troops, there are a few air-mobile Guards units, and of course, anything you can drop on a parachute or sling below a chopper is a godsend to them. The BMP-2 is certainly more protection, but if you want to get boots on the ground in an archipelago and naval transport is out of the question, a little less armor and a cramped troop bay in exchange for a 30mm gun and ATGMs in the field is a perfectly acceptable trade for them. Plus- yeah, I reckon there are a fair few of them that think it just looks sleeker, too. ;P And thanks, guys! I love stretching the ol' creative-writing muscles with stuff like this, and it keeps wld motivated, so it's fun to do!
