Arma 2 OA 1.53 Suggestions

Hmm...but vegetation can already be disabled entirely for increased performance.

- Allow corpses to cool.

- Thermal imaging devices should detect body heat through some materials and are able to see through most foliage.

Those are all I can think of right now, but I'm sure I can come up with more.

corpses already cool down (theirs TI signature become cold after time)

IR is not passing thru most of objects and also vegetation which blocks it

(you can clearly see it on any public footages using TI)

it's not x-ray ...

^^ that and also F key is way overloaded.Someone posted on making Rmouse,since it is unused with grenade,put you back to last firing mode.

New radio sounds!

New walking/running sounds - there is no stealth about it when you have metal boots on :)

Maybe add a an "Enemy spotted" command like in AA3 instead of it being automated by the user. For instance - if you see an enemy you have to aim at him and hit a key - which then says "Enemy 2 o'clock" or something like that.

Probably already been said... but it's a CTD, so it bears repeating!

Returning the greeting of an allied soldier using the pre-arrowhead talktopics results in a CTD. (I know it's an issue with addon infantry, I don't know about the default ArmA.2 soldiers)

I think Combined Operations is what he means. At the moment, units from Arma2 do not work properly with the new OA features, when they are used in CO. They do not have proper thermal maps and they apparently cannot use backpacks.

touching down in a parachute is even more retarded than in A2, plz fix.

I don't think this would be too hard to implement (I'm no genious about this stuff, so don't yell at me if it is hard to implement)...but, either A: make the unit sit on his ass when he lands from a parachute, then stand back up...

Or B: make the unit just stand the way he is now, but have him take off the parachute, and have it be left on the ground...and it give an option to carry/pack it up, so enemies won't notice there has been someone behind their lines :yay:

Or C: (this is the just all the options above added into one, make the unit fall down when he lands...stand back up...take off the parachute...then have the option to carry/pack it up.

Tell me what you think :)

Also, another thing I have found that isn't too realistic...(probably other posts with this idea, but I'll post it again :D)...The reload time on the LMG's...They reload like an m16 type reload (just make it more time consuming, not reload in about 5 seconds) :D

(I know these above ideas aren't just Operation Arrowhead ideas, but they are for Arma 2 and Operation Arrowhead, So I think they belong here aswell).

Now, for some Operation Arrowhead Ideas...To me, the map in game is wayyy too bright it's like I'm looking into the sun the whole time (I know someone will say turn down your brightness)...I don't want to have to change it when I play Operation Arrowhead, then decide I want to play Arma 2 again.

Another thing, Which is probably posted in previous posts...or other forum posts...The Door guns on the Huey (forget the technical name)...But when you look down the sights, the cross hairs and what not aren't even aligned right...then if you look down enough your hand/arm gets in the way to where you can't even see the gun hardly anymore.

And of course, More Performance Updates! *YAY* :)

oh, and 1 more thing...Never stop trying to update The AI in the game (there is always something with the AI there can be fixed...Like Driving for instance.

Woops, 1 more thing (last thing I promise)...Make the Vehicles able to drive over rocks, like there is nothing there, maybe just a bump...Right now they drive over a rock and BAM! BOOM! *car screams to a halt* because of a tiny rock in the ground, it made my vehicle BOUNCE all over the place pretty much. (same goes with tanks...hell, even infantry)

It's a nice idea, but for a lot of the units it'd end up being a significant model rework, rather than just adding the proxy and config work.

For example, at least half of the Insurgent troops already have modelled on backpacks, and most of these are in situations where the soldier wouldn't be able to use a backpack (MG, RPG, etc), it'd mean a significant rework of almost all the infantry in the faction.

When you put all the factions together, that's around 80 models that need to be practically completely reworked (not including civilians). And then adding the new backpack models for each of them (AFAIK, the only backpack used by a vanilla group that's already in Arrowhead is the ALICE pack)

The best way BIS could see about getting this ingame would just be to release the MLODs, like they did for ArmA.1, because inevitably any rework is going to end up with someone preferring the old models!

I'd like to submit two quite important anim fixes, too :

- crouched -> "lower weapon" -> "weapon ready" -> makes the guy standing up

- crouched -> "lower weapon" -> "lying down" -> makes the guy run a bit before lying

(also goes for Arma 2)

and, one last, but I sure won't mind if this is not fixed :)

crouch, lower weapon, look at the very down, then press freelook and walk like this :yay: heheheee :D

And then you'd end up with a downloadable expansion, which some servers would have and some wouldn't. I want what I paid for, which is Combined Operations. That means every unit should have at least a proper thermal map. And preferably we soon get marines in Desert.

Fix the C-130's landing gear, it's really annoying in a game with this kind of high realism.

And also improve MOD usage, make the "expansion" button more user friendly
