Where/how/when to buy ARMA2:OA?

Apparently you cant buy Operation Arrowhead in stores in Sweden so i bought it from sprocket even though i don't like buying games online.

I was in town today and asked if they had it in the store:

Game: Lol wut? Whats that? Nope we wont be selling it.

Corestore: You said what? Ooh... Seems like we wont get it for about 2 weeks.

GameStop: How do you spell that? Nope. Next week maybe.

yeah it's ashame a phenominal game like this can stay under the radar like this.

Perhaps it's a good thing, because I wouldn't want them to change under pressure from the casual audience...money talks!

That sucks, because they're the only store in my area that will sell the game, now having it in stock, that's another story.

GameStop showed a release date of 6/29/10 up until today. Now it shows 7/6/10. It's rather annoying that they couldn't send an e-mail to announce the change rather than me not getting the copy and having to see what happened.

Update - I cancelled the GameStop order and placed it with GoGamer.com because they showed it available and shipping within 24 hours but after placing the order it's now showing as "On Hold" with no explanation.

I've checked the two gamestops in my area, best buy twice, target, and walmart.

Obviously none of them carry it. :rolleyes:

I went to game stop again today, and after looking on his pc, he said gamestops don't carry the game. (yet I can buy it online).

I told him about OFP, and I bet he had no idea what I was talking about, outside of dragon rising....

I ordered mine off the GAME website yesterday for £16.99, I was going to wait til Friday and go in store but I noticed it will be sold in store for £24.99 so I got it online and today I got an e-mail saying its been sent and will arrive on Friday. (Which is the release date all UK stores have for the game :confused:)

Also, the price has gone up today on the GAME website from 16.99 to 19.99 but it will still be 24.99 in store.

Yha guys gamestop is not all for the PC games, they just push OA back on there site to 7/06/10. As well as alot of PC game the push back. Best to look at other sites, try out newegg for US. Yeah same here. I actually just ordered it last night just before the price was increased - and it's already been dispatched. Game are generally very good with preorders. :)

Unfortunately it's a bandwidth juggling act right now Forums or Sprocket...... from tomorrow hopefully all will be improved, the actual Sprocket game download is handled on different servers so that works fine, just the whole actually being able to buy the damn thing which is problematic right now :(

Yeah I figured their website is being overloaded. Its working now. None of the emails have the serial keys I don't believe.

I looked directly at my order and it said "Pre-Order Shipping 7/6/2010" when it had said 6/29/2010. I just checked it again and now it says "Backordered". I placed the order a little over a month ago.

Yeah, I heard that same thing when I called a local GameStop store.

I finally cancelled both of my A2:AO orders at GameStop and placed the orders at GoGamer.com. One of them has already shipped.
