Placebo 29 Posted December 2, 2009 If the world was more like the BI community it would be a great place, of course the economy would crash as everyone would be at home gaming or modding, but it would be a great place all the same. That would make Marek/Ondrej joint Kings of the world and me the public executioner or some such, I'd suggest re-thinking this fantasy of yours ;)
Aelin 10 Posted December 2, 2009 ohohoh nice to see finally a dev here,yes,A2 deserves much more but not from us players but from the press(what about an "official" complain to the shameless reviewers?eh?hw this is offtopic...). Now the other face of the medal:A2 makes other games garbage, yes, and I've supported bis yet enough(all my clan followed my hint to buy it)but a lot of people still deals with receiving bug,eh jennik?eh gaia?eh marek? ahmedjbh 0 Posted December 3, 2009 I would advise BI to realise their target market is small, but dedicated, and will play the game for hundreds of hours. Surely this justifies a higher price tag? I paid something like 18 pounds for the game, the same amount for some average game that I would play for 10 hours. I hate to say this, but if I was running BI, i would self publish on a smaller scale, and charge something like £40-50 pounds for the game (which isnt outrageous, thats the standard console game price!). It isn't so much that ArmA is cheap, more that most games are too expensive :D I just love how the ArmA series is so dedicated, it hasn't sold out like other games, and that's one of the reasons we keep coming back. Oh, and it's got to be one of the greatest series of all time too :)
Rommel 2 Posted December 3, 2009 I've gotten a few mates into it, but as said before, the target audience is small, and getting to that audience is hard. Luckily places like TacticalGamer where there is other games (such BF2 PR) that advertise for ArmA2 because it is a place for those looking for simulation find themselves, and are then made aware of A2. So as said before, awareness, bring your mates, get them to bring their mates, and soon if we can, the whole world will be the BI community :P.
johncage 30 Posted December 3, 2009 i support bis by telling people the truth about their games. they are extremely unoptimized! by doing this, i make people more aware of their faults, prompting them to create patches to address the problem. everybody patting each other on the backs and pretending there's not a massive optimization fault with this game is not my definition of support. that's called flattery, and it serves no purpose. kklownboy 43 Posted December 3, 2009 i want them to support me! Pick me up when i fall down(outside the pub...) Heck i want betas!( oh...) I want new content soon! ( err, oh..) I want the 360 guys to stfup and have a game (..hmmm..) Well they can still pick me up!:p Well Ill support them if they ever make it to Oregon, do some fine wine tasting. The best idea is for the OP to get a tattoo of ARMA2 on his face!

I've noticed some of your posts lately and wonder if you've tried the recent Beta patches which as of last month improved performance quite a bit, even on my q6600, 9800gtx, Windows 7 machine? There's no reason not to try them.

Oh please :o: Like the OP, if you want to support BI even more i suggest you: create content (mission, addon...) report bugs to CIT (http://dev-heaven.net/projects/show/cis) or any other dev-heaven project join the community of your country (or any other) and make news about the global community work or whatever can help

Defunkt 431 Posted December 5, 2009 Many thanks to all for your enthusiasm and for the kind words written. You don't have to be afraid of Bohemia Interactive nearest future fortunately as we consider ARMA 2 to be a succesfull game. I had guessed as much but I for one am very pleased to have it confirmed, it's clear how much work went into ArmA 2 and you deserve to do well out of it - many thanks. Hopefully this will also make it possible to consider an anti-cheat solution, regretably when a game becomes popular it is inevitably also plagued by hackers. xxbbcc 6 Posted December 5, 2009 Hint, hint: I wouldn't mind buying a properly ported version of all OFP Islands and official campaign / missions from BI if it was available for A2. Same goes for map packs, mission packs, etc. In general, I think BI did a decent job with A2 - many thanks for it. A few more patches and this game will be really awesome. Scrub 0 Posted December 6, 2009 Yup, they are advancing strongly. Not afraid to break what was, with what is new. BIS are wedging in new tweaks, AI and play features with every beta. They earn what they receive.
