CameronMcDonald 146 Posted July 17, 2010 (edited) Not getting that error, Muecke, at least not as a pop-up. I love this island, Ice. I've got a few suggestions for the units: - Put a T55 in safe mode, and look under it. Flinstones bug strikes again. :D It would appear that the loader and commander turn-out proxies are too low, because you can't see either unit in the open hatches when in safe mode (although their legs stick out from underneath!). The driver is correctly configured. The funnier thing is, if you play in the tank as a commander and look around from your hatch, the loader and commander are in the correct spots - it's only when observing the tank from outside that things look funny. - Also, if you play as the loader in the T55, you will notice the above. It's quite weird. - I'd love to see a little bit more polish applied to the Afrenian Army. For example, a different camo swatch applied to the shoulder epaulettes, a flag patch applied to the shoulders (like the team leader), maybe a different camo used on the 6B5 vest (or plain khaki a la CDF - not sure if they were ever produced in a camo'd form - http://www.soviet-power.com/detail.php?pid=1226), a rework of the LWMH straps and SPR (which currently look a bit... weird), some dirt on the boots... christ, send me the PSDs and I'll gladly take a tilt at it. :D - The Cop (M9) has an AKS47 and an M1911. :| - Perhaps hex-edit and use the CDF pilot and crewman for their respective roles in the AA? Keep up the good work. Edited July 17, 2010 by CameronMcDonald
manzilla 1 Posted July 17, 2010 (edited) Is the cross hair fixed if you use the units? I can't check right now. Do you know Mosh or anyone else? I'll ask you cause it seems Ibr likes to ignore my posts for some odd reason. If it isn't fixed does anyone know how I can change it. It's awful and unfortunately I like using the crosshair. I may not "complain" about the units, which I like, I just don't like the universal change of the cross hair. Edited July 17, 2010 by Manzilla
icebreakr 3157 Posted July 17, 2010 Manzilla: I don't ignore you and I think crosshair should be fixed now in v1.81?

icebreakr 3157 Posted July 18, 2010 (edited) Oh noes reworked Afrenians n' shiz. CameronMcDonald *thumbs up!* Do you think Afrenian pilots need camo? There is no armor currently planned for Afrenians? :) ---------- Post added at 11:23 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:22 AM ---------- I just downloaded the v1.81 lite (isladuala_v181_lite.7z) and it still includes Berghoff African foliage pbo's (39.5mb) which you can download on any news sites.Just wanted to let other users know what to expect on download. CameronMcDonald 146 Posted July 19, 2010 Do you think Afrenian pilots need camo? There is no armor currently planned for Afrenians? Well, there was a crewman and a pilot in the original pack, so I figured I'd give 'em a makeover. I could redo the pilot in Nomex, but I kind of like him in the Afrenian cams. You could make some Afrene SF? I'll see how I'm feeling. I've got a couple of interesting ideas.

Rovka 14 Posted July 20, 2010 Some ideas for Molatians I'd been thinking off. I am aware that this might be a long-term project, and as such, I do not demand anything. All I wish is to hand over some inspiration to IceBreakr and team/All those other people, who might want to complete the Molatian Army faction. But to me it is clear that an opressive regime, like many excisting in Third-World nations, surrounds itself with Elite forces loyalists, and often include a large conscript Army consisting of your average soldier. But I would like to see the Officers as part-time specialists, due to their abbility to lead the common conscripts/reserves/penal corps culprits, ánd being able to drive motorized/tracked vehicles aswell. Driving vehicles in Army service isn't allowed for common Conscripts, or Reserves, and certainly not for Penal Corps soldiers, due to keeping full control by the Molatian rulers: *King or Queen's Guard Brigade: The elite forces of Molatia. These are most loyal, best trained, and earn a good service-salary aswell. They also serve the Air Force, and double as military style police force. One of their tasks is to quell dissent, and riots, plus capturing all who do oppose the regime. They are rather immune to the law, as they do serve the kingdom of Molatia's main interest: Survival of the King/Queen's power over all its subjects. -K/QGB gear: Different camouflage pattern opposed to what is used by other Molatian forces. Camo-cover for helmet. Metal (Soviet SSh-68 "Cone Head" type) helmet. Scoped SVD Dragunov rifles only used by K/QGB soldiers. *Regular Army: The Officer cadre, from which many are drafted to serve in the Armored Corps. Whilst better equiped to the task at hand, then their conscripts, in amount of munition, and a complete uniform unlike the conscripts, they are also more loyal to the cause then the conscript forces. Hence why some of these man also fullfill the task of serving in the Armored Corps. -Regular's Gear: Full camouflaged uniform. Camouflaged cover for helmet. Metal (Soviet SSh-60 type) helmet. AK-74 Rifle with grenadelauncher for Officers, AK folding stock for Armored Corps, complete with plenty ammunition, small rucksack for Officers, complete webbing, FLAK-vest. Binoculars, Map, Occassionally an non-scoped SVD Dragunov rifle for longer-range shots. If possible a flashlight? RPG-launchers are also used only by Regulars and K/QGB soldiers due to the danger of mutinizing Conscripts. *Conscript Army. Infantry under leadership of the Regular Army Officers. These men are still paid, be it just to make a living for themselves. They are relied upon to defend the nation's interest, and acting promptly upon their officers' command. All unreasonable deemed disobedience to the command-structure is punished by removal of pay, withhelding food, and tasking the culprit with nasty jobs like toilet-cleaning duty for a preset amount of time. If all prementioned punishments still do not work, these men are transferred to the Penal Corps. -Conscript Soldier's Gear: Metal (Soviet SSh-60 type) helmet without helmetcover, and camouflaged military-style cap, boots issued by Army Quartermaster/from stock.Camouflage jacket, camouflaged trousers. Large bagpack for carrying food-supply, etc. Ofcourse also present are a variety of small-arms complete with plenty of munition. Most Conscripts are handed a AK-47/AKM, and some PK machineguns. *Reserves: Mainly used for labour-service, and interior duties. These forces are called upon in times of war. They consist of re-drafted ex-soldiers whom finished their conscription period, without deemed criminal posture. -Reserves Soldier's Gear: They're only issued a camouflage cap, and a camo-jacket plus khaki trousers. Also handed to them are an AK-47/AKM rifles with minimal amount of magazines. (mostly 3 mags and one loaded.). Shoes used are from commercial sources, none issued by the Army's quartermaster. *Penal Corps: All those who oppose the Kingdom's interest, by rioting, insubordinatination, or evading mandatory service end up here. They are not paid in currency at all, and the food isn't plenty either, also quality of food is bad. The Molatian rulers sought a way to keep the prisons from being overcrowded. They did succeed by raising a Penal Corps. Those serving their time in the Penal Corps are regarded as enemies of Molatia, yet still forced to harshly serve their nation, be it only because they're still regarded as Molatian subjects. Still there are two worse penalties possible: Imprisonment for life sentence, and sentenced to death by torture. -Penal Corps Soldier's Gear: No headgear, old full dress khaki type of uniform, single-shot Rifle if deemed worthy. (One has to earn a rifle, by not trying to escape, and serve at best possible at a competing basis) Ranks are not in use by PC soldiers. Shoes not allowed, as these are not to be expended on Penals, for punishment, aswell that precious shoes might be blown to bits, whilst Penals enter a minefield incase of an Molatian based offensive against Afrene. I do hope somebody might use this to their advantage, but again: If practicable, personally I only see this idea implemented on the long run, if implemented at all!Whoever might use parts of these/ or the whole of these statements, good luck to you, and thanks for using this idea! :)

Rovka 14 Posted July 20, 2010 (edited) What I forgot to add to my suggestion above: As the King's/Queen's Guard Brigade is relatively small , compared to the larger sizes of the pre-mentioned other Molatian forces, it is unlikely that it is expanded that much, to also protect the border of Molatia itself, and the interior following the borderzone on Molatian side. the K/QGB is to be kept relatively small on purpose. The more personnel it has, the more dissent, insubordination, and a chance on likely mutiny, or even a military coupe grows! Now here is my new suggestion: The Border Protection Force, is subordinate only to the rulers of Molatia themselves, and to the King's/Queen's Guard Brigade aswell, that organization being it's direct superior. So at the head of the Border Protection Force stands a by Royal decree appointed K/QGB officer called: "Commander of the Border Protection Force". Also the common Border Protection Force soldiers (Commander excluded, as he's already an K/QGB Officer) have the abbility to be accepted into the K/QGB itself. All soldiers accepted into the Border Protection Force are volunteers, and draft is only from members of the Regular Army, who have a proven outstanding performance, whilst serving Molatia's best interests. (More specifically, the will of the rulers of Molatia, to whatever that may be.) Only the King's/Queen's Guard Brigade is higher ranked to this specific organization. (Besides the King/Queen, and other members of the Royal Family ofcourse!) It are these soldiers that protect Molatia from unwanted foreign intruders, or an exodus of the Molatian populace, from which the ruling class feeds. Nearly none escaped from the sight of the BPF rifles.. The gear of the BPF is the same as that of the K/QGB, albeit lesser in quality when it comes to dressing equipment. Weaponry is identical to the King's/Queen's Garde Brigade, and they also have direct access to stored tracked vehicles, and have their own rotary wing, specially appointed to them by Royal Decree, such being detached from the Molatian Air Force. (all Air Force equipment is normally operated only by K/QGB personnel, except for appointed helicopters of the Border Protection Force branch, which is piloted by BPF personnel!) The only difference in other gear apart from mechanical hardware, like flying machines, and tanks, when compared to the K/QGB stuff: Helmet: SSh-68 Soviet type, albeit issued without helmet-cover, but often camouflage is being painted onto the helmet's shell itself, in order to blend in into the terrain. Variety of rifles, most often used are AK-47 variants, SVD Dragunov, and also *SPG Anti-Tank equipment* for usage near checkpoints. (* means Operation Arrowhead required for usage!) Full Camo Uniform, just like the K/QGB, but not issued the same color beret as the K/QGB, and different to the RA Officers, according to their special task. Color of the BPF beret is likely to blend in, when a light-brown/dark-sandish color is selected. Unlike the RA (Officers) wearing the (flashy) red colored berets, the Armored Corps' black baret (due to oil and grease stains!) and the BPF wearing the light-brown/dark-sandish colored ones, the King/Queen's Garde Brigade personnel should be equiped with a special color, to signify their high status in the Molatian defence apparatus; I would like to suggest for yellow/gold color K/QGB beret. Other troops such as the Reserves, and the Conscripts don't use berets at all, but are issued military style field-caps instead. (Albeit only to signify their lower ranking within Molatia's military society.) And like said before: Penal Corps gets none of the above, but the PC officers, are from the Regular Army, and thus wearing a flashy red beret! About ranks and such. In the most poorest Third World nations, as to which I prefer Molatia to be placed into, as far as economical/social setting goes; Whilst reserving metal to create bullets, and maintain aging hardware, and to keep the Treasury in check; The Molatian rulers decided to emphasize on cloth-related ranking. It goes like this: -Penal Corps, and recruits: No headgear issued/allowed at all! -Conscript Army: Fieldcaps in Molatian camo, plus SSh-60 Soviet style Helmets issued for all troops, but the Officers, who're wearing a red Beret instead of a fieldcap! -Regular Army: Red Berets, yet difference amongst Officers and lower ranks is that the Officers wear bright-red berets, and the non-officers dark-red/wine-red berets. These are issued SSh-60 helmets aswell -Armed Corps: Black berets. Being issued Soviet style Khaki/Tan Tank-helmets. -BPF: Light-brown/dark-sandish (tan? beige?) color berets, and non-camo cover fabric Soviet type SSh-68 helmets (some reworked with paint for blending in into terrain!) -K/QGB: Yellow/Gold colored berets. This also applies for Airforce personnel, to easily grant them acces onto the airfields, and appointed hardware. (all done after strict check-ups on identification, ofcourse!) And for combat/conflict situations ground-personnel are issued Camo-Cover Soviet SSh-68 "Cone Head" helmets. Perhaps even the King when dressed in military uniform, is wearing a K/QGB style beret. But his uniform is like that from a desk-general/parade-style though. Yet normally he is dressed in splendid civilian suit. Most likely white-summer dress. Queen might wear a bright-yellow/golden dyed hat, with the K/QGB or Molatian Seal emblem sewn onto it, when reviewing the forces. As she never wears a uniform, her parade-review dress is the same as her husbands civil outfit: White colored. Her own civilian outfit, is less catchy: Still white suite like a jacket, but black trousers to remain good looking. These royal dress-combinations are strictly forbidden for all subjects of Molatia. Only the King and/or Queen may wear these, to stand out from the crowds for their own protection, as provided by the K/QGB soldiers! PS: If you (IceBreakr and/or team), or anyone else does apply anything of these suggestions, no credit is asked for, and not deemed neccesary either. It is your own project, and my suggestion is only usable as an inspiration. End results may differ, according to the creator's own taste! Thanks for consideration of these options if you/anybody does so! :) Edited July 20, 2010 by Thani '
