vengeance1 50 Posted January 2, 2010 i'd put the LHD in the SW corner. seems like the best spot I would suggest you put it somewhere not near an Airport, as the purpose of the Carrier is to add Air Support via water where there are no Airports. So looking at the map that would seem to be the NW Corner. Not to take anything away from your map look how FDF did theirs, with escort ships as well far away as possible from land or Airport. In addiiton this allows MMA to be used in the ships on the map easily adding defense capability to the Carrier and Escort ships. Using Raddik Steam Catapult to launch from Carrier. Script LHD is a nice alternative but again it will render the same issues as the AddOn pbo. Placement issues, vehicles falling off or exploding and Restart of Mission issues due to creation time and Carrier not present yet. For what it is worth. Daniel 0 Posted January 2, 2010 (edited) Having the LHD physically on the map means there's less problems with starting a mission on it, as opposed to a scripted solution. bfalcon 10 Posted January 2, 2010 It all depends on what the scenario will be as to where you put it... An LHD is usually put where you have no ground-based alternative, which lends it to be more useful where the south (Afrene) have been invaded and the main airport isn't available. Once it is, the airport is a better alternative in any case, so I'd prefer it in the south somewhere off to the side of the map for use where you want to use such scenarios. Would make one hell of a Warfare wouldnt you agree? I dont even know if its possible but if it is than that would definitly be the ultimate map for Arma 2. Alex72 1 Posted January 3, 2010 There are some "trenches" here and there on this island. Dont know if they are deliberate or if its a result of the low res (or what you call it) in ARMA's ground. But they take hummers completelly hull down with the MG only sticking out. :) Awesome. Thanks to the sharp edges they also kind of look man made. Only thing to improve those would be to add some dirt textures in them. Think that would be great. Not proper dirt, but however it looks under the sand out there (same maybe? :) ). aigmeyer 10 Posted January 3, 2010 (edited) This map is probably one of my favorite maps from ARMA 1 and 2, except it doesnt seem to work with ambient civialian and vehicle modules, which limits my ability to make realistic missions. I flew helicopters around the island and loved the dense jungles and sprawling cities. Again, the map is great and keep up the good work! Yep we see them, but we need more markings on the map. ;) I put myself out on the ground and thaught it was pure desert and i ended up in the middle of a runway haha. :) As i said before also you added very nice things such as helipads etc, but they are not marked on the map so its hard to place out vehicles well. But maybe thats hard to add to the map? Not a big thing really. If BIS would let off the 3D editor - this would never be needed. :) And cool about the trenches. I dont know why i read so much that it cant be done in ARMA. It sure can even though they dont look exactlly perfect like trenches. But its damn close and they do the job perfectly. Good job man!
