It does not matter. It's like two little boys fighting for a penny. It might be a minor issue to fix but it's not really worth this discussion. :argue:

Exactly.

It's more like calling me French when I'm obviously from Paris. And since there is no straight equivalent of Corpsman in other languages, it will be localized anyway as "Arzt", "Medico", "Médecin" or whatever...

Speaking of which... on the arma 2 vehicle page, they changed blackhawk for knighthawk but left the "Army" reference while it's obviously a Navy picture.

It matters as much as screaming "Lieutenant" to Colonel. "Soldier" to Marine. Or screaming "medic" to Corpsman.

You're calling japanese people chinese here, mind you.

How did you get to that? Didnt even mention Japanese or Chinese or anything about race

Yes, hopefully they'll fix that.

Didn't even mention Japanese or Chinese or anything about race.

Japanese and Chinese are nationalities, not races.

But the argument is similar.

Hospital Corpsman (HM) is a rating in the United States Navy that is most frequently known to the general public in their seconded role cross-services— as the equivalent of an army medic in the US Marine Corps out among the combat units in the field. Hospital Corpsman are members of the Navy's Hospital Corps, and are frequently the only medical care-givers available in many fleet or marine units on extended deployment. Hospital Corpsman serve as enlisted medical specialists for the United States Navy and United States Marine Corps. The Hospital Corpsman serves in a wide variety of capacities and locations, including shore establishments such as naval hospitals and clinics, aboard ships as the primary medical caregivers for sailors while underway, or with Marine Corps units.

Combat medics are trained military personnel who are responsible for providing first aid and frontline trauma care on the battlefield. They are also responsible for providing continuing medical care in the absence of a readily available physician, including care for disease and non battle injury. Combat medics are normally co-located with the combat troops they serve in order to easily move with the troops and monitor ongoing health. In 1864, sixteen European states (referring to themselves as "High Contracting Parties"), adopted the First Geneva Convention to save lives, to alleviate the suffering of wounded and sick military personnel, and to protect trained medical personal as civilians, in the act of rendering aid.

As you see above. There are likes. And unlikes between the two. Where as Combat Medic (Armies) are trained for truma care on the battlefield out of boot camp. Corpsman are train for the hospital on of boot camp. If they wish. They can ask to be asigned to the Marine Corps. Than The Basic School for them.

On another note. Does anyone have the link with the LHD on Youtube by BIS?

When i'm in a firefight in my arma tournament (playing as marine) I shout medic. Why? A medic is anybody who can give you medical attention on the battlefield, end of story.:j:

OMG people! Get this thread back on track. Start a medic or whatever topic of it's own instead...

There is nothing to fix, the whole thing started over a BF2 issue. You guys arguing over something you've got knowledge of if it's broken or not. Going by what we know, and we don't know jack about medics/corpsman besides that single .pdf where the medical attendant from Navy is labeled as Corpsman, we can safely assume this isn't an issue.

If you want to discuss a BF2 issue, feel free to find the BF2 forums.

Four pages of this pointless banter are enough, it ends here, if anyone tries to continue it here will get his posts deleted and get a tour of our new infraction facilities.

It's really cool that they fixed the Su-25 error. Big thumbs up from me.

Makes me think BIS is omnipresent. Creepy in a way. Like big brother, only they never post.

I guess this is how gods work.

I can tell he is playing at "normal" settings, and it looks about like arma does on very high, so there is a big improvement. (Look at the shadows to tell his general setting). But also, look how far the shadows render! They go very far, even flying above a forest you can see them. Very useful, thanks BIS.

Mmmh but they already mentioned that you can disable this shaky und blurry (while turning). The latter really gets on my nerves, with this on there is no need for fast tft or even crt :D

I hope the civs move more naturally :) But nice vegetation. I hope ArmA II don't turn into autumnsimulator 2009 ;)

Edit: Any news about the system?

Looks like the UI properly adjusts to widescreen now, map seems wider and the upper and the bottom parts of the UI seem to utilise the extra space.

Thanks for that, at last I can see it without stoping every two seconds.

For the things I saw I doubt that buildings won't be like ArmA, he destroys two and it's the same thing, and the goes through a house in 5:20, you can't see interiors... :\

Also, it says hooker! I though you were just joking.

Yes looks good... also i like the way the menu was designed (when you press ESC ingame), blurring out the rest and smoothed-out edges - looks very modern compared to Arma1 :)

Something else after i saw that video:

I re-heard the old early 2008 Interview with Ivan Buchta and i noticed that he said something like "We are currently trying to implement going over small obstacles at the moment and if we will be succesfull, there is a good chance that climbing over whole walls will be implemented too".....

What you guys think, now that we finally saw that going over small obstacles was succefull... will that wall climb be in?

I hope so, this would get rid of another part of odd limitations for infantry. :yay:

If I understand corectly Maruk (I think) in this video says, that one building is three weeks work for one designer.
