What you guys think, now that we finally saw that going over small obstacles was succefull... will that wall climb be in?

I hope so, this would get rid of another part of odd limitations for infantry. :yay:

I personaly would afraid get over this fence ;), if soldier inestimable high of plank it must really hurth :lookaround::o .

I remember 1,5 year old interview with Ohara, where he mention that in fact soldiers don't need get over barrier in VBS2 and they are actually pleased that soldier must go around obstruction, because in real combat soldier would commit dangerous when is getting over barrier. So maybe VBS3 will by without this feature :D.

So far as mapping mod. How big can you make the map? Can you do 500 km? Are higher. Are can anyone point me in the right direction.

vehicles section is messed up in same way it was when they updated it with boats :) oh and it's back 0.o

Now i really wonder if they change that little detail on Hummvee too (just copy -> mirror to opposite side -> paste) with the exhaust pipe and snorkel

Exhaust pipe yes, but the snorkel is in the correct place?

That's what I thought. He's 17 and from UK Midlands- kinda doubt he's even beta-testing ARMA2, let alone part of the team.

I found on youtube new preview from games.tiscali.cz. Its 18 minute long and have some nice new shots.

Very very nice graphic almost like real.

However, i have rather mixed feelings after i watched that Vid 2 times....

On the one side the Graphics of Landscape, Models, Towns, etc. are really absolutely superb, but on the other side it looks pretty much like plain Arma1, from the Game-Mechanic side....

A nice jump over obstacle animation we have in ACE too.... Head wiggle... ok... (i'll disable it anyway).

Still animations when they come out of Osprey is 1:1 from Arma1 (i hate that when they run by default with glued weapon on the shoulder :p ).

Also no opening of doors (we have that in ACE already - even though a engine limitation breaks it somehow with the non-possible delay) and no proper get-in animations....

Looks like they want to climb on roof when get-in that Humvee...

Can't BIS make at least one animation-type for wheeled vehicles, when get-in sideways?

This animation could be used for nearly all civilian cars, humvees, UAZs, etc etc....

And opening of doors before get-in and close after?

This is already possible, not very hard to do and add much to immersion.... 9 years of engine evolution and still no open doors is kind of poor in my opinion, sorry to say it like this.

Then there are still visible Arma1 bug-like LOD-poppings, for instance when switching from 1st to 3rd person, etc...

I really hope that this will be fixed until final version.....

I really wish i would understand Czech, maybe he gave very good infos....

I got the same feeling after watching the vid. Especially when he started driving the humvee, it looks just as clumsy as in ArmA1.

I would agree, but a good story, impressive AI and streamlining here and there will make me look past such [minor] things.

Did I hear the word "SecuROM"? I think I did close to the end of the video. Hopefully he was talking about there being no SecuROM.

@ maionaze, are you really sure?

I think they rather denied it IIRC, together with other immersion-bringers like Tank Interiors, Proper Get-In Animations and stuff....

I don't want to rant about Arma2/BIS with this, but let me try to formulate it like this:

Considering that Arma2 is currently already in a Beta-Stage (means pure Bugfixing now) and what we see in the Vid was a very late Alpha version (means its likely it will look like that in Beat/Final version), then i get a very queasy feeling in my guts... :(:o

Now i understand at some point, why we not saw much actual gameplay footages before *cough*

Hm ... are we shure it's in beta stage ? We did see the " testers needed " but did they start testing it ?

According to what Jan Prazak said in germany ~2 weeks ago, yes.....

Could you find the the thing with the open-able doors on GC 08?
