Messiah 2 Posted April 24, 2009 We won't be updating our site (just yet) with any WIP stuff, as we don't want to give the impression we're goading or rubbing people up the wrong way by showing things they (currently) cannot obtain (we're not cruel, lets put it that way) I, and others, may well post a few pics every now and then in the WIP thread on these forums, so keep an eye out there. cjph 0 Posted April 24, 2009 Another big vote of thanks to all you guys for the Jackal and WMIK which I use in my own personal missions all the time. I only wish I was younger, had more time and the technical skills to contribute. cjph
bearbison 10 Posted April 25, 2009 As someone that has just fallen back into ArmA (and started to get other clan members interested) after a long exodus and starting to really enjoy it again, especially with the quality addons like the Jackal having just been released it is a pity to hear that things have come to this. I can fully understand your reasons and hopefully the community will find some way of effectively fixing these types of issues so you and RKSL will return. spm1138 0 Posted April 26, 2009 (edited) I think BI need to take issues like this very seriously. OFP and ArmA are both sandbox games and the lasting appeal of them depends quite heavily on the quality of toys made available to play in the sandbox with. (Just a general comment and not a specific comment on on any specific issue.) Edited April 26, 2009 by spm1138
stegman 3 Posted April 27, 2009 Bugger. I take a few days out and come back to this.:( I can't believe it. I have been trying to build up a British army in Armed Assault for ages. I love all your stuff and was so excited about the LR's the Mastiff and the MBT. In fact all i needed was the tank, but now it will never be. Real shame guys. Thank you for all your work to date and good luck with future developments. ...and should the 'Santa' thing take off please remember me! I'll even come round and sit on your knees!..or not if preferred. Fare ye well. :bye:
Pathy 0 Posted May 1, 2009 Cheers for the support guys. When we took this decision, we certainly didn't imagine for a second we'd cause much of a ripple, and the level of support we've received has been truly amazing. I think we owe alot of you an apology for doubting that people cared! We'll never change the attitudes of those willing to rip apart our IP, but hopefully being able to marginalize them through a community wide initiative will put us back in a position where we feel safe to begin releasing stuff again. I think we forgot to ever point out that a lot of the new stuff we're releasing was also already put into VBS2, so theres a sort of added concern over what happens to our commercial stuff in ArmA, when it comes to considering new releases. Anyway. Point being; we've been overwhelmed with the positive response, and thus are looking at as many ways of making this work for both sides as we possibly can. Stay tuned, it's not over yet. -R2.5-_Dan 10 Posted May 5, 2009 Yea i hope you guys come back your addons was what made OFP fun to play. and it would be a shame if your Hard work was ruined because of a bunch of tools in the community that were never taught the rights and wrongs. and why stealing is possibly one of the worst crimes you can commit. but hopefully the actions of a few wont have consequences for the many. i wouldnt say this without meaning it but you have the full support of the community. wipman 1 Posted May 5, 2009 Hi, yeah the Project UK Forces addons always has been between the best addons ever made for the OFP and those Jackals show that we've seen released, keep that good quality line that we all enjoy and love. Let's C ya
STALKERGB 6 Posted May 12, 2009 Sad to hear but understandable where the PUKF team is coming from, i am a very poor mission maker and have been waiting for the perfect Brit units to make my dodgey mission with and although i have spent ages making my own stuff I don't think i would have made that mission until the PUKF stuff was out :) You guys have been a big inspiration to me and will miss the quality work you produce. Anyway, best of luck with whatever you do in the future and hope that there can one day be a return, maybe in ARMA 2. STALKERGB
R3MF 0 Posted July 12, 2009 delighted to read the june 29th post on the pukf site, stating that some Arma work will be ported to Arma2. :) thank you, thank you, thank you! Arma2 is truly genius, much better than the original Armed Assault, and has rekindled my love with the series, and as such also my desire to see your work converted for Arma2 play. thank you again. SWIFT88 0 Posted July 13, 2009 UKF NEWS 29th June 2009Armed Assault 2 Well finally it seems that most of UKF have gotten their grubby hands on a copy of ArmA 2, and are of course currently enjoying a bit of time mucking around in the editor, playing the campaign and having a jolly good time over at VCB with some multiplayer antics. So with the new release comes we can make a fresh start once more. Once we all grow tired of exploring the new terrain in ArmA 2 we'll crack on with converting addons across from ArmA and those that were on the brink of being released. We're taking a little step into the unknown here, and have no real idea of how long fixing the addons up to ArmA 2 will take. All we ask is that you offer us a little patience, some time to enjoy the game ourselves, and we'll get on with the modding once more. We also ask that people refrain from converting any of our previous work from ArmA and Operation Flashpoint across to ArmA 2. By all accounts it shouldn't be a huge amount of work to get the Jackals converted Just a snippet to make you all aware of what was mentioned
