A-10 with GBUs

The A-10 is a great lgb platform and I'm suprised that it didn't come with the game. Well here it is...

sorry about the putfile crap, I haven't gotten my webspace set up yet (I just moved) anyways, it's just a config file, and you need the A-10 addon to use it.

Hi, a mixed load will be great, some iron bombs, some rockets, some

AGM 165 and some AIM-9L/M. A real load out of the CAS plane; that

will be pimp and much more utile than loadouts focused only in one

task, bombing or guided ATG strike. That kind of thing don't happens

in a war; and by the way... i'll like too to see the camels removed

from the game, WW-I planes in a game like this just make no sense.

ye you're right and I thought the same.

I don't know why BIS isn't thinking that way.

I just asked for Mav/Gbu loadout because we can't have other loadouts atm. (I mean that sidewinder double pylon and so on)

Tools wont help. It's engine limit. You can't have more than one kind of proxy weapon on the plane.

Is possible to do it with some scripting and specially made models though. But BIS were apparently trying to avoid script usage on the models because they are hardware demanding and often doesn't work at 100% in MP.

But I would prefer for BIS to make a bigger selection of the possible loadouts, since it makes the loadouts available to everyone which gets it included in missions. User-made addons has to be a part of a large well-known pack to get any 3rd party mission-support.

i hear ya about the camels. they are shit. The grenades are dumb and impossible to hit wiv and on Bezerk servers u cant take off in em properly unless u manage to go up in the air for a second then click autopilot on. and it can barely fly high enuf to avoid its own GBU!

I'd like to see other loadouts as well.

- smoke rockets

- flare pods for night missions

- 12x Mk82 (3 per pylon)

- 4x Mk84

i think camels are usable as a light attack or one man transport plane or for visuals or to take cover behind when on the ground and the bullets fly around you wink_o.gif

I'm fairly sure the camels were included so players could have some Chuck Yeagers: Air Combat moments. Most modern fighter engagements involve:

1. Aircraft approach each other.

2. Fire missiles.

3. Fire countermeasures at enemy's missile.

4. If missile hits, go to 6.

5. Pull one or two maneuvers, fire missile again. If missile misses, repeat.

6. Enemy dead, go home.

Vastly simplified, but you get the gist. In the camels, you only have guns. This means you actually have to move your aircraft so the bullets will hit the enemy, which involves some slight skill to do so whilst ensuring you don't buy the farm.

I think you can't have more than one type of proxy weapon on the thing at the same time due to an engine limitation... so no mixed missile/bomb armament... no aim + agm.

mmm, wrong... ofp had the same limitation, but we beat it off, it just required the mod tools/scripting... and yeah..

just need the mod tools.

By 'proxy weapon' do you mean a guided weapon requiring?
