Nice, but Arena still is not tested in combat. No info about it`s failure rate, no info about interaction with different AT missiles. Maybe most popular RPG will have less effect on T80/90 armour, but what about heavy TOWs and Hellfires?

Model looks good as usual. Now most important is to create accurate scripts and to not spoil visual effect with some bugs of how model is working in game...

Maybe now Shtora? Apparent targets for rockets and cloud of smoke around tank? Is it possible to do it like in heli`s and to emulate threat decoys (f. e. yellow lamp alert in AH-1)? And to force tank to behave like BAS Chinook (not flying ;) but use smoke and jamming)?

My guess is that IRL it will be pretty high for several reasons.

1. Soviet, and also Russian Federation electronics have screwed up bad before. Look at the BMP3 for instance. And the failure of fancy ecm systems is fairly common everywhere *Patriot*

2. What are the odds that a crew of draftees is likely to be very skilled in its operation? The Russians are still taking bad losses in Chechnya, not just from suicide bombers.

Also, are there going to be any updates on the Iraqi tanks?

If so, could you turn down the accuracy on them to simulate the aging barrels, bad ammo, and bad training?

The arena system is a unique system that was developed in the start of 90's but was cancelled due to no governmental subsidizing and was later continued in '93 i think by the institution's own financing. Since there is no other system in the world which can do this german and us reserchers became very interested in Arena and now are watching further testing.

The incoming ATGM is detected by the radar on the top (see pic) and one of the charges that u see on the turret fires in the same direction as the ATGM is coming from causing it to explode prematurely. A 100mm plate only gets scratches from explosion.

Maybe soon we will release a video if it at work but im not promising anything.

Sounds similar to the SLID system from Boeing...

Maybe they give an audible warning before they fire? No time for that I guess

SLID is actually closer to Russia's DROZD (Thrush) than it is to Arena.

And DROZD is a much more insignificant system compared to Arena, Arena was supposed to be its successer but surpassed it in alot of ways.

What is wrong with his sig? He has his rights, and it isnt flaming, being a bigot, or being derogitory in any way.

Some of the stuff being made by RHS makes me drool. Actually scratch that; ALL of the stuff being made by them makes me drool. That MI-28 in particular looks so good I could eat it. Actually, Caucasus Crisis is also making a lot of nice stuff, like troops with new weapons and anims and a nice SU-27. Oh and of course Suchey and Earl are also creating a couple of great looking modern Ruskies. The Russians will soon have their revenge after being stomped all over by the masses of US hardware arrayed against them for so long.

BTW, while I'm on, what exactly happened to Denoir? I go on this forum several times every day and suddenly one day I find out from someone's sig that he's gone but without any explanation or thread or anyone talking about him leaving or anything. Could someone enlighten me or is it some kind of conspiracy whereby suddenly noone's ever heard the name Denoir?
