warbirdguy1 14 Posted June 28, 2017 Outstanding mod. I just wanted to make sure this was not just me. On the Normandy 1944 map almost every structure is sunk into the ground.

scottb613 285 Posted June 29, 2017 Hi Folks, Just a question on the historical use of Sherman's... I watched a documentary yesterday on US Tank Battles in the Pacific Theater and while CGI - they portrayed the Sherman's swimming in to land on the beaches (Guadalcanal, Tarawa, Saipan, Iwo Jima, Okinawa) without any of the skirting we saw on the Normandy invasions - could the Sherman's swim without this skirting ??? Thanks... Regards, Scott
Jaki 762 Posted June 29, 2017 AFAIK Shermans could only go in the water in DD and Deep Wading gear variants. They were usually carrier by LCTs to about one or two miles from the shore and then released into the sea.
scottb613 285 Posted June 29, 2017 Hi Jaki, Thanks for the response - yeah - LOL - maybe just a lazy 3D modeler used on the TV show... Regards, Scott
