[MELB] Mission Enhanced Little Bird

Good news all.  The MELB is getting updated for the issues with the Hellfire.  It may take some time as the team is pretty busy with real world at the moment.  It is my understanding (might have got this wrong) that MELB is being managed through RHS.

That's great to hear, thanks for the update!

 

I was under the impression that MELB would remain standalone so that updates hit quicker as RHS would not probably release an update to their huge mod file for a single a/c bug fix. 

I thought so too at first, but it looks as though currently RHS have more time to work on the mod than the original creators. Since its inclusion, there has already been an update to various parts of the RHS mods, but none to the standalone MELB despite the glaring issues.

But I'm glad RHS is taking it under their wings, they seem to take good care of their stuff. The Mk V SOC, a standalone mod that never quite left the W.I.P phase before being included, now even has a nice system that allows loading of smaller boats. It has really started to shine with RHS.

No offence to the RHS guys, but not everyone uses RHS.  This is somewhat akin to the ATLAS LHD and CUP situation.

My impression too, and I hope the one that prevails.

Is there any script or command to remove the camera Flir the helicopters, we need them without her for the Black Hawk Down mission, we want to use your birds.

Everyone on the team is aware of the issues, and has fixes for them.

They will be released in due time.

Unsure if this was reported before, recently noticed a config error (which also pops up) when you equip a weapon (eg. "PDW2000") while MELB mod is loaded (and no other mod):

Have a problem related to MELBs.  A guy in my group gets disconnected from our server every time a MELB starts up.  We've ran tests and confirmed right when a MELB spools he loses connection. Any ideas on what might cause this and how to fix it?

Our group had a similar issue with another mod (RHS) and it turned out the issue was due to a separate sound mod being corrupted /incomplete.

Reinstalled the sound mod it then played nice with RHS and the problem resolved.

Just a possibility to consider.

I advise instructing him to verify the integrity of his game cache through steam (Steam Library>Arma 3>Properties>Local Files>Verify Cache) and see if that at all resolves the issue.

If it doesnt, tell him to redownload the mod, or if using Tools as A3Synch check if everything loaded correctly, else patch over it. :)

Was the "bobblehead" Easter egg removed from this last version? I'm sure it used to show in the interaction menu?

As far as I know the action menu still has the bobblehead option, but it is hidden between two default options (next to the collision lights option, IIRC) and won't show any text like normal when you have it selected.

I could be wrong about the science on this (I'm not 100% sure what wavelength range IRCMs use), I am entirely understanding that the IRCMs shouldn't look like a flare to the human eye, but wouldn't it pretty much look like a crazy disco ball exploding with NVG or at least FLIR imaging?

Also as a side note from that, Has the rifle "rack" in front of the door been disabled? I could have sworn that your rifle used to get placed into it before

Oh man Pravus, that would be rad. I kinda nerd out when I fly and actually put my rifle and backpack in the helicopter's inventory. Seeing the rifle in a rack would be SWEEEEEEEEET!!!!!!!

Dear developers,

 

I am preparing a mission concerning the battle of mogadishu.
To obtain the maximum immersion, I would need a specific version of Littlebird which is not represented in your fantastic addon.
In fact, I think it's easy to reproduce because it's on the images on the Armaholic release page, and was present in the Arma 2 version, the MH-6J:

AFAIK the rifle was visible in an earlier revision. But was removed because of the G-Force  animation by BIS would actually unalign the rifle from the weapon holder.

 

For legacy purposes, a A/MH-6J would be cool... But would require extensive amount of work. New main cockpit Console (all analog), main rotor with 5 Blades, A Tail Rotor with 2 Blades. New Sitting benches and an old FLIR Pod. Just porting the A2 stuff would look wierd within the new shiny helicopters... :)
