dmarkwick 261 Posted September 30, 2013 The breathing is a little overdone :) I'm also not enjoying the Blufor voice commands. They sound, to me, over-acted and entirely too earnest. For this reason I'm preferring to play as Opfor most of the time, I can't understand them but at least they sound OK :)
Pac Man 10 Posted September 30, 2013 Yeah the breathing is a little wonky atm. You sprint like 10-20 feet and you're huffing and puffing, as if having an asthma attack LOL. There should be a steady incline in breathing over a long time. Even when I use C to "walk" slowly my character still starts in having an asthma attack. There should be more severe weight limitations is regards to speed and longevity, BUT, I shouldn't be having an asthma attack for running or even slowly walking 20 feet. Back in my prime, I used to carry & sometimes pull a logs up a hill & down the other side, come back around and go back up again. For several minutes & this was only a portion of my conditioning routine. I never sounded like that, even if I was winded.
slay0rwr4th 10 Posted September 30, 2013 Completely agree with this topic, I play with headphones and would like the volume of breathing reduced by around 50%, I'll still be able to hear it just fine but it won't be so invasive, I don't mind hearing the breathing as it's an indicator of fatigue but it's so damned loud in my ears it drives me up the wall, Yes I know I should walk/catch a lift but when your vehicle has just been blown to hell and you have a 10k walk back to base and only 2 other guys on the mp server in the same situation elsewhere.. you run or you die haha
shataan 1 Posted September 30, 2013 I find it odd how I am breathing heavy while running, but my Squadies are running just as much as me and I can`t hear shiz coming out of them. Not to mention the breathing fatique sounds I hear when just using the hold breathe function for steadying weap while shooting. In real life we don`t hold our breathe to anywhere near the point where you`d need to gasp for air. Helloo??????
-=seany=- 5 Posted October 1, 2013 I agree the heavy breathing is way over done/ irritating.
LoneCrow66 10 Posted October 1, 2013 When you sprint or are starting to run if you are trained right you get ahead in your breathing and pace yourself as to not "get behind" in breathing. Of course in the heat of battle I can see it getting out of control but if you are hiking and running to another objective a person would breath evenly in through the nose and out through the mouth pacing himself. The faster he runs the faster he breathes as to not be "out of breath" when he stops. The breathing is a good indicator that your guy is tired but so it the edges of the screen pulsing as well. The breathing sounds are a little over the top and volume turned down.
mamasan8 11 Posted October 1, 2013 Probably already mentioned but anyways. Breathing heavily from running 5-10 metres, really!? I wasn't even sprinting. This is just ridiculous. Not only is the sound annoying and the pulsing screen but in addition to that, the aim is swaying like crazy. Are we playing as soldiers or some 400 pound fat slob whos never seen 'the outside'? I would vote for the latter, considering how the whole thing is implemented.
galzohar 31 Posted October 1, 2013 Well, running at 20-25km/h isn't exactly easy (or even possible)! They should make you run slower or at least not change how tired you get. The sound, on the other hand, is quite loud regardless.

Bee8190 10 Posted October 3, 2013 If we could just keep it to faster / heavy breathing when exhausted, that's all the feedback I'd need from my virtual soldier
big_t 1 Posted October 3, 2013 There is already a ticket here: http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=12043 Yeah thanks for that but just vote up iceman77's ticket as my ticket is tainted and not as clear as it could be. I swear someone ticket stuffed, as I got 12 down votes as soon as it came out in one day then only 3 down votes in the two months history since with 41 upvotes. I should have not put the word "unrealistic" in.

I should have not put the word "unrealistic" in. Sorry about that. Pac's a noob! Anyhow, yeah sometimes it seems like the feedback tracker is a haven for trolls & bitter folk. No matter how a person presents a suggestion or idea, no matter how logical, you'll usually get jumped on with down votes immediately. I've noticed this quite a bit, but not always. I think there's a clique of people there, that really want higher end changes (fixes) made so they will be able mod the game the way they want. I think they down vote anything and everything to divert the devs attention off of anything they see as "trivial". As feeble of an attempt as it would be...even so, that's what I think! *Puts on tin foil hat* Edited October 3, 2013 by Iceman77

Doing so under fire is endocrinology heaven. When your heart rate starts hitting one eight zero and the fight-or-flight adrenaline and noradrenaline response will last from start 'till finish. Well... But to have it in the state of complete fatigue and duress within that space of time and distance I fully agree with you. It's ridiculous. Personally I hear my heart sounds louder than breathing but in terms of implementation, I like the way America's Army 2 and 3 did it.
Piru 10 Posted October 22, 2013 So how hard would it be to tone it down atleast just a tad. It's realy getting nerve wrecking to to listen to someone vomiting in your ear every evening. Then again seems like 98% of the servers are all running in 3rd person platformer mode where this doesnt realy apply so maybe people just dont care

It is annoying. What upsets me even more is that I hear the heavy breathing when driving a Quadbike as well... Only time I'm in 3rd person is when I'm in a chopper, getting transported to AO. Please, please turn it down a notch. Running around is 90% of the infantries job.

Polygon 11 Posted October 22, 2013 They said they will tweak the fatigue system after the first campaign episode has been released. It's not about fatigue, it's about the results that fatigue brings - disgusting annoying breathing/moaning sounds. they're overdone, period.

I consider it all one system, the "disgusting annoying breathing/moaning sounds" are part of the fatigue system, and they said they will tweak it. Anyway I never said they aren't overdone. CaptainObvious 95 Posted October 22, 2013 Probably already mentioned but anyways. Breathing heavily from running 5-10 metres, really!? No, not really. Standard Blufor AT Missile Specialist, 40 meters distance. That's 2 (two) audible inhales and exhales after the sprint, how about you to do the same with equal weight and post a video of your own breathing after it. roni 11 Posted October 22, 2013 In real army every fucking soldier must be able to run 3km in specific time and without any problem. Maybe sprinting is OK, but typical jog shouldn't tire so fast...

roni 11 Posted October 22, 2013 In Polish regular army it's below 13:50 to get highest grade(5). It's really not so hard to get in this time if you train some.
