ARMA 2: OA 1.61 (Release Candidate #1) build 94945

The time has come for brave community to get hands on RC of upcoming patch, this time 1.61

Changelog: (all from betas between 1.60 and now), minor UI stuff

WARNING

This update will modify your existing game installation.

Rollback to previous version is not possible.

Upgrading to the final 1.61 patch also may not be possible.

It is recommended to back up your full installation folder and profile folder first (you can restore those before applying the final patch).

As always, use at your own risk. Thanks a lot for your support!

please be aware that no easy rollback to 1.60 is possible unless You have full backup

[94912] Fixed: Video memory detection on W7/x64 sometimes wrong because of bug in IDirect3DDevice9::GetAvailableTextureMem.

BattlEye Support: ... supported... please read below about 1.61 issues with BattlEye

Install either: http://www.gamefront.com/files/21983321/Setup_BattlEyeARMA2OA.exe

or manually update to 1.61 version of BattlEye:

admins using server 94949 or hosters with 94945 may experience problems with hosting for more than 1 player

until fix in next version please change kickDuplicate=1; to kickDuplicate=0;

and don't use ban.txt for engine bans ...

Any chance we are going to see the hitPart EH locality bug fixed (https://dev-heaven.net/issues/27837)? It would be really nice to have this be in the next stable release so it can be pushed into use with mods and not have to require betas.

Definitely not for 1.61 final. If everything goes well, this RC will become a final. If something goes terribly wrong, what went wrong will be fixed, but there will be no more fixes or new features for 1.61 final.

Where is the get command for the magazines plus ammoCount ?

Definitely not for 1.61 final. If everything goes well, this RC will become a final. If something goes terribly wrong, what went wrong will be fixed, but there will be no more fixes or new features for 1.61 final.

Ooh! Two new maps plus a cut-out from Takistan!

Thank you, BIS :yay:

The Takistan cutout will be great for setting up large-scale scenarios without a big hit on FPS.

One comment - at some point it would be nice if the towns & villages in the two new maps acquired names. Briefings & navigation would be a lot easier :)

sorry for not creating a ticket in bug tracker. was unable to test properly. but the bug is important and i believe was introduced after 1.60.

Markers on the map are visible to everybody on the server even when they are made in group channel / direct chat channel / vehicle channel.

Especially related to the one unnamed popular mod. You can usually see lots of markers on the map even when the global and side channels are disabled!! I can even chat with ppl using markers. I create a marker in direct channel and after about 5 mins the marker is visible to other ppl on the server. And they are not within 40 meters from my location.

Showstopped bugs:

Boot Camp 02: Parachute Jump training mission that was broken in 94444 beta is still broken in 1.61.94945 RC1. https://dev-heaven.net/issues/36778

Boot Camp 08: Armor training mission that was broken in 1.60 final is still broken in 1.61.94945 RC1. https://dev-heaven.net/issues/28187

Please do not leave things this way. Experience has taught many new Arma2 players will abandon the whole game if missions cannot be finished.

Boo, you loose the default arrowhead CZ models if you upgrade to 1.61, bad move BIS..

Instead of the better texture version we use to have we get worse ones. BAF and PMC DLC low textures were not as bad as these.

With one single move you have ruined your game.

Sorry for a slight hijack (a related one though) - but

Please fix this AI problem before 1.61 final. Don't leave ArmA2 with AI AT gunners broken.

I really want to be able to play missions with AIs and vehicles again. And at least 32 other people too.

Also vote it up people, especially the ones caring about your SP/Coop experience.

So Czech DLC essentially has reskinned Chernarus, smaller and cut into two parts? :(

I don't know why we need these maps in so bad textures quality if we have original big maps in good quality.
