thx BIS for this one, and the one before, the one before before, and ... :)

one question: is "-malloc" still alive, meaning setting of "-malloc = [value]" takes influence ?

Just played a round, and noticed that no AI member of my group did announce enemies that they saw. They would shoot, but never say that they saw one.

I tried to reproduce it in a test mission, but there it didn't happen... anyone seen similar ? I would say it's just cosmic rays, but since the "reveal" functionality was affected by this beta, I'd though I'd better mention it.

reveal is a scripting command. it should not effect normal AI detection.

reveal is a scripting command that affects and is affected by the same functionality as the AI detection mechanism. As such, the concepts might interact.

As I said, I noticed this, i.e. during one mission NO group member revealed any enemy target. Whether it has something to do with the scripting command or not is not important, really, but since the functionality of revealing targets was obviously affected, I thought I'd mention it.

Both in ARMA2_OA_Build_85598 and the latest ARMA2_OA_Build_85680 ( i don't know about earlier beta patches i didn't used em ) i have problem with my sound that isn't there in the stable version.

More precise i have a constant tsik tsik sound like noise especially on heavy looped sounds like the Engine of a truck bike etc. It is also very noticeable when someone is speaking over VON , again the same tsik tsik sound .

One strange thing though is that when i alt tab ( like now that im writing this post ) and all the sounds are muted except VON i can here Clearly the guys speaking without the tsik tsik noise

You can take a look at this video for better understanding of my problem , the problem begins to be noticeable when im on vehicle

My specs :

Windows 7 64 bit

ATi Radeon 4890 11.9 Drivers

Asus Blitz Formula with latest Soundmax Drivers.

Hope i helped

I had game freezed after about 10 minutes of playing and usually my game is very stable. Had to CTRL+ALT+DEL to get to Win7 and saw message about Arma2 RFT has stopped responding.

Download crash dump files here

EDIT: Have had total of 5 freezes and crashes with this and previous betas:

It just raises the amount the enemy knows about a unit. Previously the max amount was 1 which just means they know someone is near now with higher number is knows the enemy is near.

I think.

It doesn't seem possible to force lower numbers though, ie if it's currently 3 setting it to zero still registers 3.

It would be nice if you could force it to zero.

Mmm would be interesting if the higher number correlated to imminent threat as in CQB.

Just remove your mobile phone from the vicinity of the computer! ;)

No, for real, for me it was really like this, when I had my mobile just next to the cable/volume rulers of my headset I had sounds which I couldn't directly associate to my mobile phone first, but it was a tsik tsik sound, which ceased when I moved my mobile to the other side of my desk. :D

In MP host, editor, trying to play a mission, and then replay it, I ended up with no visible slot selection (empty assignment screen), clicking OK / start the mission actually seemed to work fine and I couldn't find anything (obviously) broken.

I suppose it is related to some of the "Host slot selection" changes. Once I can reliably reproduce it i'll CIT it.

Read before you post please, i said that this problem doesn't exist in the stable release 1.59 and my phone is nowhere near the pc .

This is absolutely a beta patch problem that needs to go away.

Hey guys..

...you won`t believe what i found out yesterday...

[bug #16421] Changing gear in briefing screen is not working reliable in MP

;)

Congratulations. You are experiencing a bug that has absolutely nothing to do with that particular issue...

And great job pretending it's something interesting to make people look. Very mature of you. *applause*

The accuracy value is conform to the knowsAbout value from 0 to 4?

It doesn't seem possible to force lower numbers though, ie if it's currently 3 setting it to zero still registers 3.

Actually the most elegant thing would be if this command would be additive - so we'd be able to substract knowsAbout, while the command is still named properly.

Revealing 0 shouldn't do anything; it's equal to reveal nothing. To unreveal, we should be able to use negative values -- and everything would make perfect sense.

It would be nice if you could force it to zero.

Absolutely. Revealing -4 should clean all information, given that the boundaries (0-4) will be fixed. This would also allow scripts to decrement knowsAbout at the desired rate and stuff... :)
