-GR-Operative 10 Posted August 11, 2011 We are one year away from the release and we have tons of informations already (more than BF3, MW3 and stuff that will be released this year). What they will keep as surprises? Well, that's because ARMA has way more content and features than BF and CoD. There's still much more to discover.
metalcraze 290 Posted August 11, 2011 BIS Limnos looks greener on that comparison shot in PCG. I really hope this means more trees. Really would love to see a mediterranean forest as well even if there's none on the real island.
rye1 22 Posted August 11, 2011 http://www.picdrop.net/images/pg2.jpg 2nd guy is holding an invisible foregrip. God damn BIS, now I have to be your eyes too?
msy 22 Posted August 11, 2011 (edited) 2nd guy is holding an invisible foregrip. God damn BIS, now I have to be your eyes too? That may be a picture processing. But look at his left index finger, it is still out of the trigger guard. Edit: Maybe I was wrong. Is he in safe status? Edited August 11, 2011 by msy
maturin 12 Posted August 11, 2011 It's an idle animation cobbled together to show off the weapon and character model in time for the magazine deadline.

What's your 3rd safety rule? Keep your finger straight and off the trigger until you're ready to fire. Even in combat. Lets make that especially in combat since you tend to do a lot of running around with the weapon on fire. Edited August 11, 2011 by bradp191
AstroMan 10 Posted August 11, 2011 Whats that about the average view distance being 1.6k in arma 2 and will be 3-6km in arma 3. Does that mean its still gonna be smooth for low end comps at those distances?
maddogx 13 Posted August 11, 2011 Whats that about the average view distance being 1.6k in arma 2 and will be 3-6km in arma 3. Does that mean its still gonna be smooth for low end comps at those distances? Depends on what you mean by "low end"? Low end of the given system requirements for Arma3: probably. Low end as in "five year old budget computer": probably not.
Tonci87 163 Posted August 11, 2011 Awesome read! Damn Arma3 is going to be damn sexy!
Black Cat 10 Posted August 11, 2011 Hmm.. checking the KA-60 it is a reskinned KA-60 w/ M32 from PMC. It even still has the M32. BIS!
Rodrigo68 17 Posted August 12, 2011 As for the supposed "T95". It looks more like the canceled Black Eagle with some kind of... Rail gun or someshit.
Flash Thunder 10 Posted August 12, 2011 Whats that about the average view distance being 1.6k in arma 2 and will be 3-6km in arma 3. Does that mean its still gonna be smooth for low end comps at those distances? If you can only run 1.6km viewdistance right now I would not at all count on 3-6km viewdistance in arma 3 with the same specs. BIS is pushing more detail, more likely to be more strenuous on your cpu.

purepassion 22 Posted August 12, 2011 This might not be an world changing feature, but nevertheless i personally love it. Enhanced idle animations If you look closely at the combat divers , you can not only see their heads moving around but the whole body in a very natural way. In example you can even see a thorax expanding as the soldier breathes in.Those little details all contribute to a great game!

rye1 22 Posted August 12, 2011 That would be awesome if could actually equate to something like a non-breathing casualty in a medical scenario. Doesn't matter if it doesn't but great idea. Love the detail.
Corvinus 35 Posted August 12, 2011 Speaking about tanks. The thing some people calling T-95 is Object 640 with some railgun: While "T-95" or more correctly Object 195 was canceled and looked like this: And now instead of Object 195 there is a project "Armata" - a family of vehicles, based on the united platform:

DKM also made the Comanche that was featured in Eagle Wing. At least, that´s the way I like to think about it. :> And in the end, the name doesn´t matter, as long as it behaves like a tank with a railfun... gun... should behave. Ie, pack a punch like no one has seen before. And break down a lot.

maddogx 13 Posted August 12, 2011 Love your new sig InstaGoat. :) +1 The slogan is actually much cooler than the original. :D As far as the discussions on exact designations for all the vehicles go, I have a sneaky suspicion that many of them are intended to be chinese "knock-offs" of existing designs that have been supplied to the iranians. Corvinus 35 Posted August 13, 2011 I have a sneaky suspicion that many of them are intended to be chinese "knock-offs" of existing designs that have been supplied to the iranians. But how it will explain "Mi-48 Kajman" designation? If it will be chinese, then it should be "WZ-some number".

Corvinus 35 Posted August 13, 2011 I said "many", not "all". ;) I see. Well, in this case, Iranians appears to have really diversified equipment.
