    No nuclear threat please..

There's been quite a bit of scientific speculation about drilling and fracking near fault lines in order to cause small earthquakes and thereby release pressure and prevent large earthquakes. I think it'd make a great story if Iran were pretending they were working on a weapon that could cause massive seismic events, but it was really a fake like our old "star wars" program. They could lure a massive NATO amphibious force into some tight waters where the Chinese lay in ambush with their submarines, thus marking China's first direct involvement in the war. As the player, you could send some signal about discovering plans for this new weapon, and that it is nearly complete. The Supreme Allied Commander dispatches the fleet and invasion force. Then you discover that the whole thing was a fake and have to get a signal out in time before the trap is sprung. If BIS doesn't make that campaign, I call dibs on it. :D

I'm guessing rail gun type supergun kinda like Saddam tried to build in Basra a while back. Either that or some kind of seismic weapon (Operation Magnitude). Is Limnos volcanic? Or maybe it's all a sham. Maybe they've built a dummy research facility in order to distract NATO resources and possibly even lure a large NATO contingent into a trap. I think that would make a really awesome story.

    They better have female soldiers...

Well the thing about the Marine Corps is that there's the infantry, and then there's everyone else. Women are perfectly capable in the "everyone else" department. Most men couldn't even make it in the infantry. Certainly, there are some women who have the mental and spiritual capacity to be grunts. And they can maybe even train physically to carry a full combat load and keep up with us on patrols. However, they'd be the exception rather than the rule. It was 8 months, and I relive it almost every day.

Unlike me who spent 8 months living in Marja without running water. Stuff the snide remarks. Besides, what American has ever been stationed in Iraq? Last I checked, people were deployed there. I'm not "clinging" to anything. I'm talking about my own experiences. I don't appreciate you belittling my service.

    They better have female soldiers...

Well if FET is getting rotated back because conditions are unsanitary for them, what is a unit with more females going to do? When women are all together, their cycles sync up. A unit made up of 20% females would be combat ineffective due to "cramps". Besides, the Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps said that women can't be grunts because their bodies just can't handle it. The authority has spoken. I only heard of FET being in one firefight, and they started shooting toward the other Marines because they were scared and freaked out. I think they should have females in the game. I just think you guys arguing that women are the same as men are ignoring biology.

FET went back to Dwyer for one week a month. Draw your own conclusions from that. That is, they returned to the regimental headquarters, which had showers, beds, real food, and the like. They were in the operating environment for no more that three weeks at a time.

Hygiene facilities available in a combat environment are also not adequate for females. They'd be at huge risk for infection. Reason given by SgtMaj Kent.

^^HILARIOUS! Is that an MP5 under your burka or are you just happy to see me?
  9. I meant real life :D. Mortars can be very accurate if you've got first rate people running them. 81's are portable too, by the way. Steel-on-steel hits with 60's in hand-held aren't unheard of either. I did that a few times at SOI. Although I think our current mortar systems were first adopted almost 30 years ago. Given that ARMA 3 is set about 15-20 years in the future, I hope there'll be new weapon systems. Lighter weight and less awkward to carry would be the first improvement I'd make. Longer range as well, of course.
  10. It's been done many a time by yours truly. #1 FDC Chief, son! On that note, some way to work plotting boards and such would be a cool mod. Ballistic computers are for dummies!

I've seen some of them wear pink cammies on libo. As froggy noted, I'm behind the times.

    What about openly gay soldiers?

    They better have female soldiers...

This thread is completely ridiculous. There should only be women if there are also sammiches. End of discussion.

    Stealth Kills?

    ^What he said. A suppressed Mk12 sounds just like a .22 rimfire.

    Multi-optics support?

In practice, it does affect it a little but not significantly. The torque you put on the screws can throw it off just a tiny bit, and the rails allow for a little play before you tighten it down. However, there's nothing stopping you from re-zeroing on the go either.
