This led to finding a map of Europe. (see post # 1006)

We're only guessing what the map means. Could be simulated invasion.

Hack # 2:

All they did was change the background image to this

The image contained hard to read letters/numbers, which spelled "ASTUTE" and traced outlines of a submarine as shown here (Note: the rest of the letters have since been located)

I was under the impression that while the BGM-109 can accept a nuclear payload, it is technically not allowed under SALT.

Regardless, the Royal Navy has certainly never used it: Least of all on our Astute class subs.

Trident SLBM has been our only sub-launched nuclear deterrent since its introduction in 1994, and our sole nuclear deterrent since WE.177 was decommissioned in 1998. We took delivery of our first Tomahawks in 1995 some years after SALT, and even the START agreements that succeeded SALT II, were signed which would preclude deliveries of any UGM-109As.

Astute wasn't even ordered until 1997, an not launched until 2007.

So no nukes from Astute.

Assuming we're reading this properly and the upcoming expansion/DLC/whatever will be about an invasion of Europe, I don't think we can expect the action to take place all across Europe, or even in real countries for that matter. Looking at OFP:CWC, Resistance, ArmA and Arma2 (+all expansions), BIS have only been using fake locations in their milsims, albeit sometimes based on real world terrain data.

ToH may be proof that they are breaking this habit, but I don't think that counts for Arma2. I'm guessing that the new campaign will take place either in Chernarus, Karzeghistan, Takistan or some other fictional place.

Although you might be right on the fact that they will not side step of the RL location thing, they will keep it fictional but we might get a other map based on RL terain data of lets say france england germany etc. Does not have to mean they have to contain the same name but a fictional name that will represent this invasion?

It can be a DLC it might be an Expantion, or even a free update because the 10th birthday of the first release OFP CWC.

At this point we can only make asumptions and try to connect the dots, bare in mind that we also can be way of track on what they mean. it can even be an announcement of ArmA 3, and what if they will announce ArmA 3 all together? What will it bring us...

Hm, points more toward a 'full' expansion and content involving a fictional sub pen (Faslane in Scotland is not a million miles from rocky parts of Chernarus) and other eurozone/med locations. Doubt there would be full seaborne warfare given the document on VBS2's maritime limitations - more a number of select missions across, for example a stretch of coast like Western Turkey.

Even if it is a DLC (which I'm 110% sure it isn't) I'll still be happy, show me any other developer that has this kind of relationship with their customers, its BIS and the community that keeps me motivated to make addons :smile:

Really far back in the thread someone said something points to June 8, 2012 as being important. As well someone said E3 was set to take place June 7-9. In the top right of the map it says:

Those numbers could point again to June 8, 2012 and E3. BIS might be planing to spill the beans then.

The map its self seem to be from a intel file from the CIA or an ally about some unknown attack plans made after the cold war ended. The thing is how did it get into the hand of a member of ChDKZ???

For those of you who think the map tells that the story will be an attack on those routes, stop and think for a second. The map as well as the sub might be showing something about the gameplay more than a story about WWIII. The sub seems to mean naval combat. The map could refer to a war between more equal factions (no more T34s v.s. M1A2 TUSKs). It could also refer to a shadowy plot linking the ChDKZ and happenings in Chernarus to "things" that came up in the PMC ending.
