Seeing female soldiers working in Afghanistan like this shows the Taliban exactly how much the systems of government they want to put in place are worth. Embarrasses them in front of the Afghan people in just the right way.

Anyone else notice that there seems to be some sort of weird effect with the faces? Once they're more than a few meters away the face basically distorts quite badly - it looks like some kind of LOD effect.

I think he mentioned the skeleton, basicly the model would distort.

Also if you think Afghan men and women are suprised by female soldiers from other countries then I imagine they would be astonished by this, or completely disgusted pending on view.

I can see this being used in a decent mission/campaign where the story is pretty tight between soldiers or something. Would add effect and such imo, regardless what the RL standards or rules are. It's a game that we can modify and change. So why don't we change it and have some fun? ^^ I mean... it can be used to great effect for some story based campaign missions. Never know.

Previously, asked nicely that people refrain from rude comments and focus on the technical aspects. Then come more comments about sexual organs/activities and arguments about female soldiers not being realistic or even real warriors.

Fine - let's talk about realism. If you were in the US military you would already know about UCMJ and what flapping your yapper spouting that kind of talk would get you. I doubt the one's making these bone-headed comments could count as high as the list of articles the JAG in my chain of command would've slapped down.

FACT - Women serve and a bunch have died in combat, planned or otherwise. If you disrepect any warrior, no matter the role they've been assigned you disrepect them all.

I don't care what you think in private, whether you served or not, whether you have a CIB or not. Sexism, racism, or any other 'ism is not welcome in military, around me, or by any of my friends.

For what it's worth, my little realism unit includes 3 women. One is a superb armor driver and very good MG operator. Another excels in recon. Two passed the team's test of 17/20 one-shot hits of pop-up targets at 900m with a stock M24 rifle - qualifying for the sniper/scoup spot. When we're getting compliments from other players on our tactical skills and teamwork it's likely that at least one of the women was with us.

You want to link up with us on a mission? Better show my ladies the same respect our guys give them. Those here that have been talking trash - no chance, we expect professionalism and you failed miserably.

We'll be looking for the servers that support this mod. Kudos to anyone that does.

I long for the day when discrimination - be it negative or positive - ceased between the sexes. A weak man is weak. A weak woman is weak. A man doing his job well and a woman doing her job well both do their jobs well and neither should be made a bigger deal of, at least based on what reproductive organs they possess.

IMHO glorifying every small feat of women in male-dominated jobs and communities insinuates that they're expected to perform well below average.

There's quite am difference and the political correct "all sexes are equal" talk is one of the most misleading ideas of the last century. But for sake its women themself that are on the way to overcome the whole idea of "emanzipation". Equal rights in no way need to be a cause for artificial equalization.

The problem I see here is that we are not far from the point where you cant point out someones or your own DIFFERENCES without beeing accused.

It sems like people are afraid of beeing "unequal" seeing every difference as a weakness. There is a point in beeing different, beeing male or female and thats the concept of living in small social groups with clearly divided responsibilities...something that is diminishing in the western world.

Celery - I don't glorify anyone based on gender, race or anything except merit. Those three in my group earned my respect via hard training and good results. They got mentioned because the bigots here need to learn some respect and manners.

Just because we don't know about them doesnt mean they aren't there, and there have been reports of women fighting ont he front lines, in the end it's still a game and we don't really need a "realistic" reason to add things such as community content. Afterall if we can have sci-fi, why not female soldiers regardless nationality?

Every time the topic of female soldiers has come up the most point blank reason has been 'because nobody has made them', well now we have some and do we really want to discourage it?

Because it looks dumb. I'm with Dude on this one; if I were to make a mission with these unit I'd having them guarding the FOB or just walking around doing nothing, because I'm OCD about realism and having blondie DDs humping a ruck with a SCAR just doesn't do it for my OCD. Now if ya put her in a Bikini or some stereotypical "gun porn star" outfit then that'd be a whole new breed of female unit and wouldn't look so outrageously dumb, but yet something to ohh and ahh at. If you have a problem with it then don't download it, OCD fixed, you won't likely see a female soldier in your game.

But there is no need to post in a thread you know that you will complain about and contribute nothing much less post inappropriate comments..

Some of us like the addon, some of us don't..the answer is simple, download it if you do..don't download it if you don't.

These are good. It's nice to see they have the female voice too.

Would be nice if they could eventually have the proper bodies too. Smaller feet, perhaps less bulky in certain areas and shorter if possible. That's the only criticism, but I'm sure it's all WIP anyway.

On the side: There's no need for a continuation of an old thread full of boring talk that was originally posted in the suggestions area.

Love the addition of women to the field, they may only be supposed to fill support roles in RL but if they're in a warzone there's always odds on their seeing combat and any number of scenarios that can be created where they can be put in it - convoy ambushes anyone?

On the subject of the models themselves - I love the attention to detail (especially that they are voiced instead of just high pitches of male voices as happened back in OFP:R). Just wondering how easy it will be to helmet/hat them though - won't there be clipping issues with some of the head meshes?

It's called constructive criticism; learn the concept. I was being sarcastic when I said "blondie DDs" learn the concept. Maybe since you love the addon so much you can make better use of your time making missions with the addon instead of trying shut everyone up who doesn't share your opinion..
