  1. 1. What are the most important sounds for you while using JSRS?

    • The weapon sounds!
    • The vehicle sounds!
    • Environmental sounds!
    • Explosions, Soniccracks, Bullethits, the sound of danger!
    • The script features like the "distance sounds"!
    • Everything combined! The whole Mod itself is important.

I like the fact that you provide mirrors instead of forcing use of launchers like some do (which sucks big time).

I just tried two launchers(I wont name them though) and they messed up my entire A2CO and all of the mods I had installed. So I had to not only reinstall A2CO completely but re-download mods and re-configure them. Gave me a headache.

P.S. for best file transfers I suggest box.net it's free, it's stable and has lots of functions unlike Rapidshare and other piracy infested sites.

If you cant use Sixupdater without messing up your entire installation then you are having user error it not the program.

Not at all. I configured both launchers properly. I'm not a rookie to mess things up. But for some reason those tools decided to mess things up on their own. Play withSIX forced 296 beta over the 409 and rendered my executables useless (even after I re-applied 409 patch). They are all neat tools, great way to sync mods, but I'll play it safe and stick to my own methods.

About DropBox. It's overrated, just like TS3 is over Mumble. The truth is DropBox has too many limitation, though it's perfect for careless uploads. I use both box.net and DropBox. DropBox for one time uploads, Box.net for larger files and private storage.

Great news LJ! Sounds like I might get to experience JSRS 1.5 afterall. Thank you!

It has been a pleasure using this mod since the beginning. :)

@MAVEN: You can still download the old six updater. This is a link if you look hard enough, small letters.

PlayWithSix is really bad if you use more than one mod. Unless the ability to choose mods and create your own presets is implemented, like in six updater, then nobody I know will start using it.

Great you guys post about SU and PwS everywhere except where it is relevant and makes a difference: http://play.withsix.com/support

Leaving a trail to follow eh ;)

---------- Post added at 11:19 ---------- Previous post was at 11:18 ----------

PlayWithSix is really bad if you use more than one mod. Unless the ability to choose mods and create your own presets is implemented, like in six updater, then nobody I know will start using it.

As announced at the first release, PwS preview was introduced as a replacement to SIX Launcher (not Updater), focused on public play of the larger mods, especially DayZ.

Support for more modsets and additional server required mods was added shortly after release, and as such PwS has access to the same 400+ mods on our network as SIX Updater.

However we've worked hard to port more and more SU functionality.

Editing modsets, additional and optional mods is already available since x-mas: http://play.withsix.com/posts/85-play-withsix-build-190-released-merry-x-mas

While creating and sharing modsets, and SU Custom Repo support is currently in development and should arrive shortly as well.

We recommend PwS over SU most definitely if you don't need the missing features.

It is way better performing, better memory usage, neater and more pleasing UI, more powerful and flexible server browser (incl filters etc), etc :)

Stay tuned for exciting improvements coming time :)

Thanks for your hard work!!!

Also. Does anyone else think that BI should hire him? I mean really. If he could do this as a mod then imagine what he could do if he had direct imput on the sound engine itself!

JSRS would indeed be a great portfolio piece to get into the industry, accompanied by a comprehensive tech demo of course. What the industry however is looking for is the ability to create things like this consistently, repeatedly and to a deadline.

A few things

tonci i don't trust you too , why ? because i see what you're posted on dev-heaven ... https://dev-heaven.net/issues/70168#change-151956 , and if i'm true the jsrs 1.4 was released with a ftp link not a filesharing website ! but if you want a good filesharing service use Dropbox

We managed to get it before dropbox blocked it ^^

Uploading 1.5 (rar'ed says about .99GB) to a new Rapidshare account for JSRS. Once it's uploaded (hopefully), I'll send LJ link to the file and he can pass it out to Fox, Sickboy and whoever else for downloading and uploading to their respective hosting for mirrors. At least that's the plan in theory. Whether or not it pans out that way, who knows. Here's hoping! But me and LJ did a quick test today since I've been sick and he working on 1.5 and have to say 1.5 is well worth the wait. RPT looks pretty damn clear, the new sounds (he's managed a few surprises even for me in a short week) and pant-creaming goodness on one hand and pant-crapping on the other when being shot at. A few times I've almost had a heart attack. I think you all will be relatively surprised, even though we've all seen the sample videos recently posted. Even then there's some even better changes and surprises. So hang in there fellas, we're trying to get this upload thing sorted. We didn't expect how quickly things heated up on Dropbox and caused them to disable the link, lol.

This is true, forget most of the videos I posted, yesterday I almost fell off my chair when I heard the new sounds he made (If you think that sounds you heard in the example vids are good then you´ll need fresh pants after playing with 1.5). This stuff is awesome!

(Video should be available in a minute)

Thanks for the video, Tonci! Agreed, everyone should definitely keep a few pairs of spare pants around once launched with 1.5! :)

@the rest: Currently before I found out about the dropbox-like hosting, I was already uploading quickly to cRapidshare. So it is live on our account there, not the most ideal, but this will mostly be sent out to the most vital people for proper hosting. Finishing my box.com upload, but since it's a freebie account the max upload was 250mb each. For some reason my winrar wouldn't let me force the split up to be 250mb each part, and would only do 100mb. So I have been uploading those parts to our account there as well for any of the eventual hosters to grab from if they would rather stay away from cRapidshare. It's the best I can do at the moment as we're scrambling around here thanks to the unexpected dropbox shutdown.

And what about torrents? I don't know, the Piratebay for example, or any other torrent trackers. It doesn't have upload limits.
