CM Operation Flashpoint 3 announced | "Oops, they're doing it again..."

Recommended Posts

What is interesting aswell (although on CM Forums you can't see active users in subforums):

In CM Forums are 882 Users active, the forum covers 12 game series, including OFP (argh, does it hurt to write those 3 letters) which makes 73.5 users per game series, also for OFP.

BI Forums, which covers only one game series are currently 296 active users.

Talk about success.....

:EDITH:

Also take into consideration how long both games are available....

Someone's just registered here to come and shoot down Arma 2's AI in favor of Templar's DR mods.

So what's your point? DR has better AI now that a guy, not being paid, has "fixed" them? Tell me - can they recognize roads on Skira now? Or do they still drive wherever the hell they want?

Stick your "Templar's modz r bettah" up your ass. They're impressive, especially given the "source material" he had, but they're not comparable to Arma 2 in terms of what they can do. He may have perfected the infantry AI for DR, but every other aspect of it is still horrible.

Just leave it. Look at his post history. He signed up here today, came straight to the DR bashing thread in the off-topic forum (of all places) and asks which game he should buy, then jumps straight on the TemplarGFX bandwagon based on watching a few videos... Then, barely an hour later he has apparently already bought DR and is challenging people to post videos so he can prove how much better Templars DR mod is.

Also note the fact that he has activated invisible mode in the mean time. Funny how he has apparently transformed from a "neutral 3rd party" into a DR/Templar fan in the space of a few hours.

No, this guy is at best a troll from the CM forums, and at worst (more likely I think) Templar himself again, trying to defend his honor by bashing Arma2 and singing his own praises. It's so painfully obvious, it's almost sad.

Yup, guess your right. Who knows, if Placebo does an IP search on him you might go 2 for 2. :D

I'm guessing it'll be either his own, or a known proxy IP. ;)

You do have to wonder don't you. Has anyone else actually woken up one morning and said "I know, I'm going to make myself look like a complete fool in front of loads of people today"?

DR fails hard, I know this because I have it. Arma 2 wins, I know this because I also have it. RR will also fail hard because CM have already said it has less features than DR.

Conclusion? Yingyang has been at Sion Lenton's stash.

DON'T DO CRACK!

Myke;1739590']Well then....

"Among the blind the one-eyed is king"

Might Templar be King over @CM forums

No the king is the mods over there, templar is the very talented joker that are trying to (

and at some point did) impress the king

OK I found several Youtube videos featuring the Zeus mod and am most unimpressed. I don't see how you can argue that the dumb AI in those videos is better than the AI in Templars Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising mods.

I'm looking for AI that models real-life behaviour and ArmA clearly falls very short of the mark, I mean c'mon the Zeus AI were just standing still with no reaction while the AI standing beside them were being shot to peices. Very lame.

Judging by the videos posted on Youtube the Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising mods are more of a simulation than a game and that is exactly what I am looking for.

Anyway thanks for your help and good luck with your game. Cheers.

LOL:D Friggin' hilarious this reply. He should google some vids of the DR AI. There were some cool ones on YOU Tube

I youtubed some Zeus AI and I couldnt find anything spectacular. It was mostly people trying to show problems with it so the zeus ai developers could see and improve (I guess?) and some you's that really was boring and showed quite un-responsive AI.

According to youtube Zeus AI is not that impressive. I know that arma2 AI is very good and with some mods (come to think about zeus AI, GL, DAC3) they are fantastic. But it must be experienced and you need a good CPU for the AI to really shine.

Perhaps the old geezer could change his name to Lyin' Lenton.

I don't think he's deliberately lying, just seriously misguided, ill informed and unable to register negative feedback.

So you are buying the game!

Not that you will have to pay for it, afterall you do work for Codemasters.

Your clever, very clever, in fact the best I've seen.

You travelled under the radar for quite some time and done a marvellous job advertising your games here. But you slipped.

It's astonishing how much you know about scripting 'Ben', so much so that you even correct TemplarGFX's mistakes.

hmmm not bad for someone who apparently cannot afford a PC capable of playing operation arrowhead.

You're not, very not.

I think the discussion about Zeus AI is purely academic at this stage, but that's good to know. :)

Seriously? Wow.

Lots of duplicate account shenanigans going around these days. It makes you wonder what the hell people are trying to prove.

LMAO....

JHC! Do people really think along the lines: "Oh no, the mods wouldn't expose me like that". Really, I'd like to know if mods on other forums, ('cause this is the only forum, Ive gone beyond "Great game - Like it" or "Oi, having a prob here"), are content to let people use multiple accounts and create different persona?

Im gonna raise Placebo's FPDR to FPDR FPDR

It's the only way they have to increase the FPDR fan base.

Welcome to console world.

I actually wanted to post a similar poll on RR forums about their age. You can tell me it doesn't matter, but in fact it really does. It matters because of your previous experiences in life, as well as with other games.

See this.

Most have never played outside their crapboxes(i know placebo also loves his soo much), and have never played the original tac shooters such as r6 or ghost recon, hidden and dangerous..

There is also another thread about the best story in a game, where even BFBC is said to have one, or even MW2..where is monkey island, where is Mafia1, and so many other games that were made prior to 2000?

I really think the average for CM is about 15-16 at most, while the average for BIS is abot 30-35.

I'm 38 this month and 99.99999999999% a console gamer these days

You are the exception here...

i guess it has to do with the fact that consoles have always been easier to play on(in terms of headaches), as well as time needed with the games you play on it.

You cannot deny the fact that the consoles player base is a lot different from the PC player base though (i really don't want to start another flame war between the two here though)

Well im 40 odd... we never had PCs/consoles electronic digital crap when we was kids, we played war with sticks screaming bang your dead.... or, we had a tennis ball!?

It just amazes me that people get upset because some people they have never met play a game on a console?

Or people feel the need to ridicule other people here for playing other games etc...

Absolutely, but that's the fault of the game developers/publishers not the fault of the gamers themselves, console games do not have to be dumbed down/ made more approachable that's just a bollocks excuse for publishers who only care about how many units they sell :) Look at when we released Flashpoint Elite on the Xbox1, there were many new gamers who like the milsim aspects of the game and despite never being PC gamers adopted a milsim/mature gamer approach to playing Flashpoint Elite, because we didn't dumb it down and strip out the features like most other developers FPDR, hell if we had done that I'm sure it wouldn't have taken so long to develop and wouldn't have caused such a financial strain for the company!

That is very true, unfortunately i have never played OFP on xbox due to having a PS2 at that time.

Even so, not even BIS is able to port A2 or even OA to xbox360 nowadays.

I do believe that is because no publisher will take that risk , rather than console limitations (which is still an issue nevertheless, but in regards to procesor computations, and GFX strain, which could be adjusted by reducing polycount and texture size)

So what is the result: we see franchises that were good/decent dumbed down (DR and RR included), DLC is omnipresent in the sense that game are being sliced to make room for those, and so forth.

While i think games are suppose to be fun and all, that fun value is very subjective to each individual. But that goes for other interactive(or not) media as well, starting with movies, TV programs to newspapers all the way to books that are hitting bestsellers status. I really think is not only the game industry that is beeing affected

If you think about it that is one of the most unfortunate mis-spellings ever...

To quick for me... My point is things have been dumbing down for forever... probably the process has sped up, so why worry about it.

I think the average age is lower on consoles.

I haven't done any statistics but I'd be willing to put money on it.

Don't get me wrong, you are good to play whatever you want to play.

I'm just observing a trend that's all.
