  1. Hi! I am the developer behind this project. I am looking for any graphic designers or artwork creators interested in volunteering their artistic abilities for creating a billboard to be featured in my terrain. I am hoping to release the terrain sometime December this year. The advertisements can be about anything whether based on in-game franchises, corporations, or conglomerates and items - to made-up fictional things. You will be credited for your work and are allowed to sign your own creation visually in a way that is convincing for the advert. See: https://armedassault.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Companies The requirements are as follow: -All images must be of YOUR OWN intellectual work, and they must be made ad hoc for this purpose. -You can make and design screenshots, or solely design. -Images are to be done ONLY in 2048x1024px resolution. -NO fourth wall breaking. -It is recommended to use the Aceh Darusalam font, but exceptions can be made! If you have questions, or wanna make sure your design is OK with me before starting work, feel free to message me. You can contact me here, or on Discord as Vectif#6895 or on STEAM. Thank you and have a good one! Vectif
  2. Hello! I'm Vectif, and I'm the developer of an upcoming unreleased Arma 3 Terrain called 'Straya', based loosely on the australian outback vibe. You can find some WIP pictures here: https://imgur.com/a/aA5AWyd I am looking for any graphic designers that would interested in a project solely for fun. I am soon to release an Arma 3 terrain and I'm looking for designers interested in making textures (fictional ads!) for billboards. You do not have to do anything other than the image, I will handle the .p3ds/models myself. You will be fully credited for your work, and are allowed to sign your own creations visually. Images must be of your own intellectual work, and shall not contain anything other than in-game screenshots (unmodded unless you made the mods or contributed with explicit permission!) and/or any art/design you might do upon it or standalone. Images are to be done in 2048x1024px. If you are interested please contact me over at Discord: Vectif#6895. Consider this the same idea that BI had for the Malden billboard contest some years ago! You can also find some inspirations and refference on their winners post or just look at some billboards in real life or throughout the Arma series! Cheers and looking forward to any designers interested!

    #GGMoments Contest Announcement

Salut mercenaries, We're happy to announce our second contest! This time it's all about capturing the perfect Argo moment, and you're all invited to participate. We can't wait to see your #GGMoments! Over these past few months, it's been my honor to watch over all of you, our community, and during that time I couldn't help but notice all of the amazing Argo-related videos. Whether these were reviews, guides, or simply highlights of skill, it made me realize something. We have so many skilled video creators and passionate players capturing Argo gameplay, and this is something that should be seen and appreciated! For this reason we now created the Argo #GGMoments contest. As you will read in the set of rules down below, this contest focuses on rather short videos, such as highlight reels or funny moments, that we've all come to love from video clips on YouTube, Twitch, and other video platforms. The Premise of the Contest: Capture, edit, and submit a video of a funny, lucky, unlucky or skill-packed moment(s) in Argo. The Rules of the Contest: Before sending the submission, please read the full set of our contest rules here rules. These official rules tend to be a bit of a complicated read, so I will try to outline the most important parts: Submission deadline: 17th October 2017, 09:00 CEST (GMT+1).. You can send as many videos as you want. If you want to update your entry, just send us the improved version again. Please submit your videos to competition@bistudio.com. We can only accept entries that provide us with a YouTube link and a download link to the video from a web-based repository (such as Dropbox, WeTransfer, Google Drive). The video must have a minimum resolution of 720P. The length of the Entries should be 15 to 120 seconds max. Please avoid intellectual property rights conflicts! (such videos will be rejected/disqualified) Use only gameplay footage from Argo PvP or PvE scenarios. If you wish to use music in your video, use Arma 3 or Argo soundtrack. All video submissions which follow the rules will be showcased on our website. The jury, consisting of Argo development team members, will pick the winners based on their highly subjective opinion. The Winners of the Contest will be announced on 24th October 2017. Last but not least, by sending us your contest submission, you agree with the contest rules. The Advice: Once you have thoroughly read through the rules, you will know what we look for, but also what may pose potential issues. Therefore, here are some more recommendations: Even though the game has PEGI rating 16+ and ESRB rating "M", please try to refrain from using derogatory language or motives. If you're unsure whether something will be considered inappropriate, it probably will be. Don't be afraid to capture bugs, if you encounter some which are exceptionally funny, we don't mind. (damn you ragdolls..!) I can't stress this enough: avoid intellectual properly conflicts. From our competitions in the past, we know that sometimes even really good videos need to be disqualified from the competition due to this reason. And what we are looking for? Show us how you experience Argo. Side note: I really like those unlucky videos (airdrop deaths are my favourite >: D) The Prize: I'm happy to say that the winner of the contest will receive an awesome set of Razer gaming gear! With that kind of equipment you will have no problem dominating the battlefield and experience many more #GGMoments! Here's a list of the exact prizes: 1st Place: Gaming Keyboard Razer Black Widow X Tournament Edition Gaming Mouse Razer DeathAdder Elite Gaming Mouse Mat Razer Gigantus Headphones Razer Kraken USB Argo T-shirt 2nd to 5th Place Argo T-Shirt The Conclusion: I am wholeheartedly convinced that you mercenaries, our community, will blow our minds with your creative submissions. If you're in any doubt about the competition rules or anything else, feel free to contact us on the above mentioned e-mail, or via our social media channels and forums. We'll be there to help! Lada Brabcová (Producer, Community Ninja) P.S. For those who are completely new to Argo, you're of course most welcome to participate in the contest as well. You can download and play Argo completely for FREE now on Steam!!
  9. hi all. now that ARMACHINIMA has ended, i wish to point your attention on a very funny (or very sad) thing: some videos (like mine, to be clear) got 72 visualization (not votes, i mean ==>> visualization! ) while others in the magnitude of 7000 to 9000 and more. considering i know that me and my friends visualized it for more or less 30 to 40 times, and excluding them, it means only 30 or less people loaded the video !! now, lets say the cover picture was ugly, or the title was boring or god knows what else....but seems way too far from realistic numbers! beware: i dont want absolutely contest the content of videos, surely the 10 finalist are better made than mine, for example, nothing to say about it. the problem in my opinion is that people doesnt even know whats inside the most of the 128 videos of the contest! despite putting a lot of efforts in the video, not even being considered at all.... is a bit sad, hoped that people at least give it a look, consider it garbage and move on, thats fine for me. anyway ...i wish to suggest another system for the future contests, because honestly i think everyone in this situation will simply stop to partecipate. PS: can the number of votes be public now ?
  10. Bohemia Interactive & NVIDIA present the #Armachinima Awards Create the best cinematic Arma 3 video ever, win a top-tier NVIDIA graphics card Channel your inner-Spielberg, get your Scott on, and unleash the Bayhem. Welcome to the #Armachinima Awards! In this new contest, we’re inviting you to deliver the best Arma 3 cinematic video ever created – to entertain the troops, and to win a top-tier NVIDIA graphics card! What’s a machinima? The dictionary suggests: machinima / məˈʃɪnɪmə / noun: the practice or technique of producing animated films through the manipulation of video game graphics. For the purpose of this contest, an ‘armachinima’ is a directed cinematic video using Arma 3 game graphics. Whether it’s long or short, a full-length feature film, a documentary, a trailer, or even just an ‘experience’ – every type of video is welcome, as long as they have cinematic qualities. So prepare your storyboards, get ready to capture, enlist friends and family for (voice-)acting, and put the Eden Editor to use! But even if you’re not competing, you can participate by voting for the 10 nominees starting from February 14th. Afterwards, the Arma 3 development team will select 3 winners from the nominees, which will be announced in the beginning of March. Aside from glory, 1st place will be awarded a beastly NVIDIA GTX 1080, while 2nd and 3rd place will receive a magnificent NVIDIA GTX 1070 graphics card. The perfect prizes for those who are into gaming and video production! Additionally, all 10 nominees will receive an Arma 3 t-shirt. To enter the contest, you simply need to send an e-mail to competition@bistudio.com with a YouTube link to your entry AND a download link to the video file itself. Be sure to also include your contact details. The submission deadline is February 13th 09:00 CET (GMT+1). For more info on the #Armachinima Awards, as well as the full set of contest rules, be sure to check our website at www.arma3.com/armachinima-contest. We’ll also be updating this page with the latest entries, so check back regularly and prepare to vote from February 14th. Good luck filmmakers, and for those watching, enjoy the show! “If it can be written, or thought, it can be filmed” – Stanley Kubrick

  12. here´s one for you... I have this Sensor-Class in my mission.sqm class Item0 { position[]={4691,0.436,13432}; a=200; b=200; rectangular=1; activationBy="WEST"; repeating=1; interruptable=1; age="UNKNOWN"; name="sensor1"; expCond="(vehicle player) in thislist;"; expActiv="sensor1= [] execVM ""scripts\awesome\sensor_enter.sqf"";"; expDesactiv="terminate sensor1; titleText [""You've left the Sensor."", ""PLAIN DOWN"", 3];"; class Effects; }; All is fine, works great, hooray! Now I want to start a script on leaving the sensor... I figured changing it to: class Item0 { position[]={4691,0.436,13432}; a=200; b=200; rectangular=1; activationBy="WEST"; repeating=1; interruptable=1; age="UNKNOWN"; name="sensor1"; expCond="(vehicle player) in thislist;"; expActiv="sensor1= [] execVM ""scripts\awesome\sensor_enter.sqf"";"; expDesactiv="sensor1= [] execVM ""scripts\awesome\sensor_leave.sqf"";"; class Effects; }; Computer says NO... Sensor is broken. Strangely enough, I failed to find a proper documentation about the sensor stuff, esp. "expDesactiv". Anybody got an idea how to fire a script on ENTERING and LEAVING a sensor?
  13. Hello, you might be interested in how to use APL-SA-licensed 3rd-party content in your contest entries: Winning a prize in the competition could be considered commercial use. You can NOT include any 3rd-party content in your submission that is licenced for non commercial use only (e.g. under Arma Public Licenses or Creative Commons Non Commercial Licenses) without consent and specific license from the 3rd party. Bohemia Interactive grants license all participants in MANW to use its licensed data from http://www.bistudio.com/english/community/licenses/licenced-data-packages in the contest, as well as to use Arma 3 and Arma 3 Tools to create competition entries. To sum it up, you are free to use Bohemia's data for the contest, but you ALWAYS need to obtain 3rd-party's permission from anyone else. In case of APL-SA, the license's requirements apply even for the Make Arma Not War contest entries (Attribution, Non-Commercial, Arma Only, Share Alike).

  16. - Bohemia Interactive, creators of the critically acclaimed Arma series and the standalone version of DAYZ, today announce the €500,000 Make Arma Not War content creation contest for Arma 3. With cash prizes ranging from €20,000 to €200,000, spread across four different categories, Bohemia Interactive challenges people to deliver their best work yet - and potentially move onto the radar of hundreds of thousands of Arma 3 players. Using the game as their platform, people can compete in four different categories: Total Modification, Singleplayer Game Mode, Multiplayer Game Mode, and Addon. The headline prize will be awarded to the winner of the Total Modification category, where the sole victor will be taking home €200,000. In the other categories, prize money is divided between 1st place (€50,000), 2nd place (€30,000), and 3rd place (€20,000). Projects which show a lot of potential might also be offered a contract by Bohemia Interactive, whether they have won the contest or not. “We’re delighted to be running a contest of such an incredible scope. The Make Arma Not War contest was brought to life to support our dedicated community of content creators, and stimulate the exciting culture of creativity that has formed over the yearsâ€, said Ivan Buchta, Creative Director at Bohemia Interactive, and one of the contest organizers. “Of course, with the stakes being this high, we’re expecting people to raise the bar – and we hope Arma 3 players will be there with us, to boost morale, and enjoy the fruits of the contestants’ hard labor.†In addition to the €500,000 in cash prizes, Bohemia Interactive is also proud to announce a unique collaboration with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), who will be handing out the Health Care in Danger Special Award. Given to the entry which covers the topic of ‘health care in danger’ the best, the winner(s) will go on a one-week trip to an ICRC mission in a foreign country, organized by the ICRC. While the application period is scheduled to open in 2014, people are already welcome to start working on their project. The closing date for submissions is October 28, 2014, after which a jury of Bohemia Interactive representatives and other industry professionals will begin to evaluate the finalists in each category (10 in the Total Modification/Multiplayer Game Mode/Addon categories, 20 in the Singleplayer Game Mode category). The winners will be announced on January 15, 2015. More details, including how people can cast their vote and support their favorite projects, are to be announced at a later date. “With the launch of the first Arma game in 2001, we’ve laid the foundation for our series’ long-standing history in user-content and modifications. It has led us to enjoy many amazing creations, among which is the popular DAYZ modâ€, said Bohemia Interactive’s CEO Marek Spanel. “Support for mod-making has always been a priority, and with Arma 3, our goal is to take it to the next level. The Make Arma Not War contest, as well as Arma 3’s integration of the Steam Workshop, the updated EULAs, and our refreshed Arma 3 tool suite, is all part of this effort. We can’t wait to see what comes from it!†The rules for the contest, which also includes information on dates, prizes, and categories, can be found on www.makearmanotwar.com. The Make Arma Not War website will be updated regularly, starting with additional instructions on how to apply in the beginning of next year. Last but not least, to stay up to date with the latest developments, people can sign up for the Make Arma Not War newsletter. Important announcements regarding the contest will also be communicated via the official Arma 3 social channels (Facebook, Twitter).
