MATR1X 9 Posted July 19, 2014 (edited) Yeah that was the first thing I checked, was already running 4.5 before installing TADST v2.6. No dice. Edited July 19, 2014 by MATR1X grammar
tophe 69 Posted July 19, 2014 Thanks MATR1X. I think I know what it might be. I'll at least put an exception handler in there...
JamesTheClarke 40 Posted July 19, 2014 (edited) Hi Tophe, My Arma group recently switched to your tool and overall it is just fantastic. We've been enjoying it far more than having to go through the clunky Gaming Deluxe Webtool. However we keep running into one persistent issue, the AI skill we defined via F3 Framework seems to be overwritten by TADST somehow. We tried all kinds of different AI skill setting via TADST including setting all parameters to 0.00 to no avail. When the same mission is played in the editor or in a privately hosted MP session the desired F3 Framework AI settings kick in. So something is definitely going on from the TADST side. You got any idea? Is there a way of disabling all TADST influence on AI skill? If you need any of our config files to determine the cause of the issue feel free to ask. Thanks in advance for your work and help. Edited July 19, 2014 by JamesClarke
Consum 10 Posted July 19, 2014 2Tophe Please add the parameter settings - steamQueryPort= Without this parameter, the second server is not running in arma2
semiconductor 309 Posted July 19, 2014 [*]Fixed: Removed Reporting IP functions, since it is deprecated.Since 127.0.0.1 option is no longer available, is there a way to create "localhost" server, without reporting it to Steam? :) It was a very convenient way to test missions, especially because you don't have to wait until your server is listed by Gamespy/Steam and don't clutter up serverlist with useless server. Then you make your custom settings to the files. Then you click "launch as is", and launch. This will not overwrite your configs.

Hey mate, thanks a lot for helping a fellow out, this solved my issue. Now F3 doesn't get overwritten anymore and can do it's job perfectly.
limitz 10 Posted July 21, 2014 Hello Tophe, I'm having trouble with the tool. It only shows up in LAN. I've port forwarded on my firewall, and router all the necessary ports. I've also disabled my firewall, but still to no avail it will not show up in Arma 3 Internet server browser, only LAN. Please come back to me when you've read this to suggest any work around this issue. My router is a Billion 7300N Thanks, LimitzVFX
LeeManatee 4 Posted July 21, 2014 Greetings, i would like to know how to use server scripts panel to auto restart server on crash or set time and is there a way to use TADST for healess client?
dar 12 Posted July 23, 2014 (edited) Hey guys, Having trouble setting up dedicated servers (LAN) pretty much since gamespy is down. It still works great for A2CO, but when it comes to A3, every server I start up (I'm only using TADST) will crash when I join on it. At first it crashed with a fail-message "Out of memory" and some numbers. So I adjusted the maxMem parameters for A3 and the server. So I got rid of the error popup but since then ist still crashes ("arma3server.exe stopped working")as soon as I enter the sever-password and wanna join it. The logs say nothing useful. At least not the ones I found (Arma 3/TADST/myprofile). Says something about a minidump file being created in the last line. Appdata logs are useless as well. I'm using TADST 2.6 Arma 3 is up to date, main branch. Mods or without mods doesn't matter, I tested various configs. Any clue why that is? EDIT: Nevermind, guys. I solved it. Had to delete all former version TADST files and create new profiles. Edited July 23, 2014 by Dar
JohnnyBravo420 10 Posted July 23, 2014 (edited) Hi guys, I hope this is the appropriate thread for this question. No matter what I seem to do, my server only shows up in the LAN listing. (In the game browser. In the steam server browser it doesn't even show up anywhere at all.) I have port forwarded the necessary ports, and even some extra ports just to be sure- as i have read extensively on the matter but can't seem to find a solution. (Yes, both through firewall and router) The server seems to boot up fine, and creates a host etc. But no one can join, and it is also impossible to join via the steam friend function. I have tried different ports, but all to no avail. I am currently using an ethernet cable in stead of wifi- but I have been able to host very succesfully with this setup before, so it must be something to do with the 1.22 patch/gamespy server shutdown! Please help me and those who are experiencing the same trouble, as it is very frustrating and confusing- it would be much appreciated! Extra details: Using TADST 2.6 Have tested with and without mods/addons Using GamePort 2302 Using Steamport 2304 (sometimes 8766 but still ends up in LAN) Edited July 23, 2014 by JohnnyBravo420
Harzach 2517 Posted July 23, 2014 Hey guys, Having trouble setting up dedicated servers (LAN) pretty much since gamespy is down. It still works great for A2CO... It's the opposite for me - TADST won't see the "Expansion" folder, so I can't launch CO, only A2 or OA.

JohnnyBravo420 10 Posted July 24, 2014 Thanks for the answer limitz, but it doesn't seem to work. Everything is forwarded. By the way, when I go to the LAN tab in-game, it says: LAN (port 2302). Am I not using the correct port for it to show up on the internet listings? As if it's telling me "this port is for lan games" or something? Which would be weird as it seems everyone else is hosting on this port. I also ran "ipconfig" in the cmd box, heres what I got. May any of this be causing the problem? Windows IP config: DNS suffix search list: LAN IP routing enabled: No WINS proxy enabled: No connection specific DNS suffix: LAN really pulling my hair out on this one, it's never been so tricky before. limitz 10 Posted July 24, 2014 My problem was, was that my I.P on my computer (not public) was not static, so whenever i turned off my computer it would give me a new i.p and i couldn't port forward to the right computer. Just look at your dchp table on your router by typing in your public i.p address in the web browser
dar 12 Posted July 28, 2014 Me again. Launching servers for LAN games is no problem at all but they can't be seen by anybody on the internet. I forwarded all ports (2302, 8766) for my Router and Firewall. I also tried it with disabled firewall. But my guys just can't find my server on the internet server browser. All this worked fine with 2.4 and before Gamespy Shutdown.

Rath 10 Posted July 29, 2014 Under the mods tab I am seeing labled _commonRedist, Curator, Kart and launcher. Do I need these enabled? I don't enable them and everything works fine - although I think they load anyways regardless of whether they are checked or not.
n_icomach 312 Posted July 29, 2014 I don't enable them and everything works fine - although I think they load anyways regardless of whether they are checked or not. Thank you. I kind of figured that but needed to confirm. Our servers seem to crash clients constantly for no reason.

dar 12 Posted July 30, 2014 (edited) Now my A2CO servers also won't show up in the server browsers of my friends. 2 Weeks ago it worked fine. Did something happen lately, like Gamespy shutting down again? I get "no challenge value recieved from masterserver" after some time, too when I try to host a server the old fashioned way. Srsly guys is any network specialist around here that can tell us what happened? I sure as hell did change nothing on my internet config, my firewall config or my router config but from one day to the next, all the private server reporting stopped working it seems. Jackson Snow 10 Posted July 31, 2014 Should the "Difficulty" tab instead have the new AI skill settings (as detailed in this post) instead of the old ones? I don't entirely understand the system of AI settings...
DaViSFiT 21 Posted July 31, 2014 I have also big problems. I try to use port 2362 / 2363 and when i start server he gets often port 2374? 1 server is on 2332, i see him. the second server on 2362 (even when he starts "normal") i cant see since the last 3 days anymore. ports are open! :(
MATR1X 9 Posted August 4, 2014 1.63 Arrowhead 1.63 Steam Patch Help Windows 2012 R2 (or other) Firewall - Allow an app or feature through Windows Firewall. - Add Steam/A2OA and A3 Server (.exe)s to the list. - If needed for Private/Public and Domain. - In Inbound Rules for each added. Right click, Properties, Advanced, Edge Traversal. Allow Edge Traversal, Apply, Ok. TADST v2.6 Settings Create a new profile or use an existing one. Even if you only have one game server instance, do this to check and confirm it launches, opens the port and you can connect and join to it. This example is specifically for multiple 1.63 ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead Servers, which has worked for us. Server #1: TADST Launcher Options. Set all options as normal as you have done with other tadst/arma patch versions. Set server name, server file (.exe), admin password, difficulty etc, etc first. Then save. Do not check (tick) launch as is yet if you do not have a TADST_config.cfg in the saved profile folder. When you do then you can edit it, as is needed. Now, set: Port: 2302 Steam Port: 2304 Save and launch to create the required TADST_config.cfg, if you don't already have one. Now you can go and edit the file manually. I recommend using Notepad ++ This has already been saved with\for the ports edited above. Add these lines underneath - steamPort = 2304; So the text in the file will now look like this. steamPort = 2304; steamqueryport = 2303; <- NEW reportingIP = "master.bistudio.com"; <- NEW hostName = "My Server"; password = ""; passwordAdmin = "MyServerPassword"; logFile = "logfile_console.log"; There will be more underneath, but you should get the idea. This contains the extra lines needed. <- NEW - Do not add this! Save TADST_config.cfg with the additions you have just made. Now go back to your TADST, check (tick) "Launch as is" and save. Now launch and connect. If that doesn't work, maybe try leaving Steam open on the server. We created a Steam account for our dedicated server and leave it open anyways. For multiple servers, say another Arrowhead, And in the TADST/profile for this instance, the next one could be: Port: 2312 Steam Port: 2314 Then in the TADST_config.cfg for this one. steamPort = 2314; steamqueryport = 2313; <- NEW reportingIP = "master.bistudio.com"; <- NEW hostName = "My Server #2"; password = ""; passwordAdmin = "MyServerPassword2"; logFile = "logfile_console.log"; Save file, then in Launcher, check (tick) launch as is and save again. And so on. And for connection via battleWarden, inside the Battleye folder for each profile should be a Bans.txt and a BEServer.cfg. Just create a text document, rename it to BEServer.cfg. The edit it and add this. RConPassword MyServerPassword <- "MyServerPassword" being your password of choice. The same as admin password in TADST Launcher makes it simple!
