Thank you for the time. After extensive testing and consulting with other people who Zeus, I have an issue that has been proven to be on Client side, that is on my end? And I have no idea how to solve this or if this is a recurring issue for others. https://i.gyazo.com/b3404dc9fdfbc3a201398c0e884f7f72.png As I am commanding units, I have manage to locate through help from others what the exact issue is: Whenever I am trying to change the settings in this window and on the go, it is like the window is separated by the upper half and the lower half and this is what happens. I set the unit to search and destroy or any other type, it toggles the rest of the options off and to the far left. It does this by itself. And if I try to change the options below, it toggles the type above back to Move, effectively making it so that I can only do one or the other, resulting in whenever me setting the troops to search and destroy - they start walking and acting casual. They refuse to open fire or acknowledge they are being picked off one by one. They will keep walking until they die. This is a big issue for me who Zeus for a community and no matter what, we have been unable to find a solution. When other people do the same thing, it works for them so it should be a client side issue? Help appreciated! :)

Move Unit to NearestObjects of Certain Type, Select 0
aie-boshell posted a topic in ARMA 3 - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Hello, I need a script to allow me to move a unit to the nearest object of a certain type. I believe the answer is nameofunit move {nearestobject [position nameofunit, "land_pencilred_f"]} I tried this with "land_pencilred_f" being the classname of the objects that I'd like my unit to move to the nearest pencil to his current location. No luck so far but any help is much appreciated :-) -
Group name not recognised (type string, expected group)
lawman_actual posted a topic in ARMA 3 - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
A recurring problem that i seem to run into is I don't know how to use group names as group names when writing scripts. Let me explain: In the eden editor, I have set the name of a group; by opening the interface for the group (double click on the icon above group leader) and entering something in the 'callsign' field. However, if I now go to write a script that requires the name of that group, i can't seem to format it in such a way that the command will accept the name I have inputted. For example, here is a snippet from the mission: _group = "R Rustam 1 - Alpha"; _leader = leader _group; _passangers = _group - _leader; _leader assignAsDriver qrf_w1; {_x assignAsCargo qrf_w1} forEach _passangers; _group orderGetIn true; What i can't get to work is the leader command, because no matter how I format the group name it doesn't seem to want to accept it. I believe the following has been tried without success: _group = "R Rustam 1 - Alpha"; _group = "Rustam 1 - Alpha"; _group = R Rustam 1 - Alpha; _group = Rustam 1 - Alpha; -
I seem to be having a little trouble assessing exactly what type of thing a unit has fired using the fired event handler. Basically I want to know if the unit is shooting a gun, shooting a launcher or throwing an item. So far I'm working with something like this, coming from the FIRED event handler: _unit = _this select 0; _weapon = _this select 1; _muzzle = _this select 2; _mode = _this select 3; _ammo = _this select 4; _magazine = _this select 5; _projectile = _this select 6; _vehicle = _this select 7; _muzzleActual = (_unit weaponAccessories currentMuzzle _unit) select 0; And then: _typeOfProjectile = (typeOf _projectile); if (_typeOfProjectile isKindOf ["Grenade",configFile >> "GrenadeCore"]) then {hint "Grenade Thrown"}; _typeOfProjectile = (typeOf _projectile); if (_typeOfProjectile isKindOf ["BulletBase",configFile >> "BulletCore"]) then {hint "Gun Fired"}; _typeOfProjectile = (typeOf _projectile); if (_typeOfProjectile isKindOf ["MissileBase",configFile >> "MissileCore"]) then {hint "Launcher Fired"}; I'm aware i'm probably not using these right; I was just messing around with using either strings or configFile until it stopped giving me errors. The grenade one works just fine, but I'm not getting notified if I fire a launcher or shoot a gun. It might be that it's better to assess the weapon or the magazine or whatever, but the furthest I managed to get so far used this approach. Thanks in advance Law

Hi, I would like to know, how to get information about building type - such as military, industrial, civilian etc. I can read the building class (name) - but is there any function that returns what type it is? Or is it coded in building name? _nBuilding = nearestBuilding player; hint str typeOf _nBuilding; thnx

Type Number, expected Control: error
lawman_actual posted a topic in ARMA 3 - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
I'm trying to set a checkbox as unchecked, but I get the error stating "type, number. Expected, control" I've checked the control idc and it matches what i've typed in the script...so I don't know how to get that "number" recognised as an idc. {_x ctrlSetChecked false;} forEach [2801,2802,2803]; I've also had a similar thing before where I was storing group names in an array, but was later unable to issue a command using that recalled group name because it was a "string" as opposed to a "group", even though tests showed that the group name matched the string exactly. Thanks, Law -
