    POOK SAM PACK (May 2022)

    Hi Pook, Been messing with the SAM pack this afternoon. Trying see if we can adopt either the HAWK, NASRAM or Patriot as our Base defence (Much prettier that the Vamilla Tank with guns). I've had some mixed results... All units placed in the editor (I know the sites scripts won't work in Zeus, as discussed above). When spawning in enemy aircraft the CRAM seems very effective. Able to track and defeat pretty much anything within 1KIM or so. But the Main missile systems seem unable to track or engage until you fly right over the launcher (within 1KM). What am I doing wrong ? I've read the guide and am above 200m etc. I can see the SAM Guidance radar rotate and lock on then the following errors fire. Now it seems to do that for all the Blufor Nato sites. Not tried the Opfor ones yet. I also had an odd circumstance where I placed downt he Hawk site and one of the loose Point defence AA guys was an AAF soldier, but Opfor ? He was eventually engaged and killed by the CRAM

    Perhaps the clever stuff needs packaging into a module that can be dropped by Zeus next to the hand made battery and then linked in game somehow. Absolutely no idea if that would work, but I share your frustration with why Zeus has to be so different to the normal editor.
  8. I Really like the idea of Civi versions. A) as a ferry option for Tanoa island hoppers, and B ) Perhaps a rusted Pirate version... Again nice mission objectives.

    Well reading the above it does sound like Pook's systems are not working correctly when placed in Zeus. So if you're testing them in that environment it could be the reason your getting poor result ?

    Some of these posts smack of missile fandom. I never knew there was such a thing. Look it up chaps. No missile is 100% effective modern stuff is POH around 85 to 90% based on real world results. That includes all the most modern kit including the much vaunted s300 and 400 systems - and that's Before you add the variable of jamming, flaring/chaffing, evasive manoeuvres I.e. A pilot that know what he's doing and blind good fortune. So no missile system is perfect - it just can't be. However much you are a fan :-)

    R3vo is there anyway to force ASL for level flight as opposed to Following an AGL pattern ? I'm trying to get overflights on Clafghan and you can imagine it's a nightmare with the huge altitude changes (forgive me if that's already documented, didn't see it on any of the options tabs when I looked) Cheers SJ Edit: oops realised my iPhone had misspelled "above sea level" vs "above ground level".     I'd second the use of Tanoa assets... i.e. palms. I think that many people were saying the same about inconvenience and having to own the DLC when Arrowhead DLC suddenly became available... 6 months later you were considered nuts if you didn't have that. Have to move with the times in my opinion and Tanoa assets are fantastic and would really finish off your map without compromising FPS. They are usable now without being able to "de-pbo" the EBO... The Vietnam Unsung team are already using them on their maps as referenced by Hero. I assume you just need to find the config classname and replace your trees with that reference. No need to unpack anything... Anyway, I enjoy seeing this evolve. SJ

    It's only needed by the mission maker. The mission itself is not dependant. This is a tool to help create it.

    Aye. Wasn't trying to suggest it shouldn't be included - can't wait to see and hear it looming over. But was genuinely interested in whether any of the experts knew if the real thing was back flying :-)
  17. Hey silola you know what that looks good to my fussy eyes. Perhaps not as dynamically rich as your original but must be 80-90% there. Top job. I run Solano's real light mod as well so I'm super excited to see this finalised. Will look amazing !

    Unbelievably loud apparently.... Proper dinosaur. They were grounded in early 2016 (I think) anyone know if they've been cleared for flight again?
  19. Just wanted to say Thanks Solano... I toned down my saturation a little and reset gamma back to 1.0 and it's GREAT with V7. Cheers SJ

    Ours too !! We're still missing some key equipment e.g. Older series LAW tubes. Milan, CVRT platforms etc. But decent kit and a lovely SLR is a good start ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. It's likely there are cross references between the pbos to make development simpler and the files smaller.
