Hello developers and community, since June 14th '16 we have that new Vehicle in Vehicle Transport feature (in the development branch) and because of that I want to give it a try to revive an old topic. With the Helicopters DLC (2014) we received the Mi-290 Taru for the CSAT and the brilliant Sling Loading feature for all types of choppers. Many people (me either) really got excited and we had these interchangeable pod function for the Mi-290 Taru in our minds. We thought about some logistical enhancement to prepare and collect an ammo pod with the Mi-290 Taru and drop it off near our troops in the battlefield. Same with the mobile medical pod, the open and closed troops pod etc. But it never happens: The argument was "[...] a limitation of the engine that is too complicated to overcome. [...]" To compensate the lack of interchangeable pod functions we received eight different types of the Mi-290 Taru (Ammo, Bench, Cargo, Fuel, Medical, Repair, Transport and the naked variant without any pod) with static pods. The problem is, if you want to drop off a medical pod, you have to leave the whole chopper in the area. Some guys would now say: "Hey you just can sling load these pods, stop whining around." But there is a difference of sling loading an object or to have directly connected it to the Mi-290 Taru. The magic word simply is "inertia". Just try to figure out the difference of flying the Mi-290 Taru (Ammo) or flying the Mi-290 with a sling loaded Taru Ammo Pod, especially if you have to fly sharp turns or if you want to fast land these choppers. I want to come straight to the point: If it is able to transport vehicles in other vehicles, wouldn't it be possible to see a proper transporting of objects like the Taru Pods too? I am imagine following scenario: - fly with the Mi-290 Taru above a pod - sling load that pod - pull up that pod, so the pod gets directly connected to the Mi-290 Taru (yes loadmaster, I am looking directly in your face) - fly to your destination and land or hover above the target area - release and lower that pod from the Mi-290 Taru - disconnect the sling load strings from the pod - fly back to base to prepare a new pod for the transport. Feel free to discuss this topic.
  2. I am not sure if this is a weapons model bug and if it was already reported. If you put a weapon on the ground in the Eden Editor, they don't have (show) a magazine. If you check the equipment storage (right click -> Attributes) there should be a magazine. If you walk to the (visually) empty weapon and go to the inventory (do not grab the weapon), you can also see, that there is a magazine (but not shown in the weapon). There are only two weapon models, which have their magazin loaded: MAR-10 .338 & Rahim 7.62 mm
  3. Same for the Tanoa map. There are extreme loud wind noises (louder than chopper engine sounds) at some places (e.g. at the edge of the volcano crater).
  4. I am not sure, what happened, but it seems, that the issue got solved over night (for me as an European). Battleye doesn't block the NPClient64.dll anymore and I can use my face tracking software in combination with my HOTAS setup again.
  5. Hello there, I have the same problem with FaceTrackNoIR. I can't use my face tracking software anymore because Battleye is blocking the NPClient64.dll. It worked the last two month flawlessly but now I am not able to use it anymore in combination with my new HOTAS setup. I already have written a message to the Battleye support and hope that this issue might get solved. If not, Opentrack and FaceTrackNoIR users are expelled from the game from now on. But I can't spell for TrackIR users and hope, one of these guys can tell, if TrackIR is still working.

    I have found a minor issue with the To-201 Shikra. After the cockpit has closed you can see three mirrors infront of you (left, middle and right). The middle mirror isn't showing a mirrored image of yourself and the plane . This image has to be horizontal mirrored. The left and the right mirrors are working as expected. Images of the issue

    Hey there, Have you tried to verify the integrity of your game cache with Steam? Maybe there are some corrupt files which cause the trouble.
  11. That's definitely a point but we should not forget that we still have the zoom function (right mouse by default) if there are problems with the readability of the MFDs. But never mind, let's get back to the topic and maybe discuss the FoV topic in another thread.

Or we will see some FoV (field of view) slider in the future and people could decide according to their display setup (4:3, 16:9, 16:10, 21:9, VR HMDs - just dreaming), how much they want to see on their screen edges. For now, pressing two times the Numpad Minus key is a dirty solution because everytime it changes to the default FoV if you get in/out a vehicle or static weapon.
  13. I second that. Auto-FOV is a bad choice. Sometimes you just can't read the displays in cockpits if you fly or drive with maximum speed. A bad solution of simulating speed.

    64-bit Executables Feedback

    I for myself have very good performance in the game (not have tested Georgetown yet) since the upgrade to 64-bit. I am only using following parameter settings: 64-bit.exe, -skipintro and -nosplash and left everything else untouched (default). Even in AI heavy missions (f.e. recent official "Combat Patrol" mission) the performance in Kavala was between 30-40 fps and pretty good on my end. My specifications: GPU: GTX 580 3GB VRAM CPU: i7 3770K (oc 4.00 Ghz) RAM: (3x4) 12 GB 1666 Mhz OS: Win10
  15. Hello, why (and where) do one buy a 15 GB SSD? The Apex update has many core features that can't easily be deactivated like all the additional mods. I guess you should buy a new SSD 120/250/500GB and won't have to complain about such stuff anymore.
  16. This is strange. I for myself haven't experienced any issues with the key bindings after the update. I am using Win10 and all launcher settings (profile path etc.) are default (excluding "-nosplash" and "-skipintro").

    Zeus Player UID

    As far as I know it doesn't matter what kind of slot you are using. That is why you are using usernames in the "Variable Field" I have tried that procedure with some buddies of mine and it worked. But I haven't tried it recently. Just give it a try and please write a reply.

    Hello I already given an answer to a similar thread in March 2016: https://forums.bistudio.com/topic/189108-zeus-with-unrestricted-abilities/#entry2997091 If you want to create a multiplayer mission where you are the only one who can call Zeus you have to do following steps: 1. place a unit (F1) 2. place a "Game Master" module (F5 -> Zeus -> Game Master) and write "#adminLogged" (without quotation marks) into the "Name" field 3. press preview and press the Zeus key (Z by default) If you want a specific unit to be able to call Zeus: 1. place a unit (F1) and write "cunners" (or any other name) into the "Variable Name" field 2. place a "Game Master" module (F5 -> Zeus -> Game Master) and write "cunners" (without quotation marks) into the "Name" field 3. press preview and press the Zeus key (Z by default) Best regards

    Filter Out Servers

    I wasn't able to get it work with the ingame browser. I did not like the external launcher browser at first too. But now I think it is pretty comfortable, even if it takes a little bit longer to connect to some server. By the way, I have uploaded a picture in my first post.

    Filter Out Servers

    It is possible to blacklist these missions. In the filter settings you just have to type -exile -life -whatyoudontlike and these kind of servers won't show up. It will looks like this: As you can see, I've filtered all servers that use Tanoa and blacklisted exile and life servers. It works very well. Best regards and have fun.

    Tanks DLC Feedback

    Hello there, Then I will give my two cents: I guess we need some proper vehicle interiors for the upcoming Tanks DLC. Something like we can see in Virtual Battlespace 3: Next thing, I would like to have a proper damage system. Something like we had in Operation Flashpoint aka Arma: Cold War Assault back in the days. If I am not totally wrong each track of the tank could be damaged independently and you had some trouble to move the tank with a single damaged track. Something like that would be really great.     Altis map glitched

    Hey there, even on the lowest settings possible it does not look like this. There seems to be another problem. It looks like that all kind of assets (buildings, trees, random objects) are missing. I hope the fizzyeh will reply if the above steps helped.
