McDonnell Douglas F-4E Phantom II

Converted to Arma2 by Southy, based totally on Footmunch's original OFP addon

Features a later version F-4E 'Wild Weasel'

Arma II Alpha 1 Release 06/02/2010

In this first release I've stuck with the original weapons scripts(Looking to newer versons will be using the standard BIS proxies and even the IAWS systems)

I should point out all the addons I'm converting are compatible with the RKSL flare counter measure systems as they will not come with a standalone countermeasure set.

Firstly, I will point out the only thing I do is convert existing addons, all the hard work was always done by the original addon makers, I have simply tried where possible to convert them for Arma2.

I do this basically on my own with the help of a few community members for either textures or scripting help.

This is basically a hobby of mine and I do this in my spare time, all the addons mentioned have got prior permission from the original addon makers.

I know a few people will not like these addons as they are in the most part based on OFP addons, people will moan the fact the models are wrong or just old etc, thats fine I'm cool with that, until arma2 quality replacement are produced I see no reason not to convert my personal favourite OFP addons.

If you think you might be easily upset by a OFP port to Arma2 please feel free to not download it etc.

looks nice but please please remove panel lines from normals. They are not so thick in real life.

Noticed some of the weapons are available with and without Manual Fire. Suggest adding this for the cannon and rockets too if possible. Apart from that it's very nice to fly, good job. Bit of OFP nostalgia too. :)

It nice seeing those OFP screens and all the weapon loadouts, the only thing different is I gave the F4 cluster bombs instead of napalm :)

The addon includes Photoshop files for new textures, if you want to make any new ones.

If you want a a German version you could de-pbo the addon and change the r_usblack or r_usgrey and just rename the german roundel to that and re-create the addon.

Thanks, but I use a high quality roundels and details from the RC Network (site for radio controlled models) template in CDR, WMF or AI format.

Your texturelines are very good. My templates very the same files (tailp etc) that paint for the plane but only smaller in 256. It's paste perfectly into your templates and looks good!

very nice f-4, thanks for the conversion,

just a small thing: does any1 else think the pilot's view is not quite in the middle of the cockpit? it seems to be to one side...
