dragonbaron 10 Posted February 5, 2010 @Sickboy: No problem. Thank you for the update! @fakename2: No, it's the key with the Windows logo.
CarlGustaffa 4 Posted February 5, 2010 No that's your right mouse button key. Left and right windows keys should look identical if you have it. I don't, so I had to rebind it to my End key.
HateDread 13 Posted February 5, 2010 Since we're talking about the config files already... I've added my name to the clientside config, in userconfig/ACE, and in the @ACE folder as well, but I don't get any options in my scrolling action menu to put in earplugs, wear goggles, etc. The name I put in was what I play as - does it have to be the default one that is assigned, derived from my Computer Name? Cheers.
cross 1 Posted February 5, 2010 YAS users, you should be OK with the userconfig files in the repo. You'll get "old version of client config" error but should be OK until next update. @Sickboy...will the config files be in the @ACE\store\userconfig from now on ? Need to know as our batch file automatically copies them over to proper @Arma2\userconfig\ACE folder.

Roger Cross, we hope that the included DO_NOT_EDIT file will aid people when picking which userconfig files to edit from now on :) Considering moving Keys and MPMissions there too, as they don't get loaded from the modfolders anyway, and would make sense in the Store folder. Will announce it in the future. Wanted to take this opportunity to thank you / KH again, for your continued YAS services and support!

cross 1 Posted February 5, 2010 @Sickboy Cheers.. Also, did you re-update after your update-post? or am I missing the "store" folder because I use the command line and did not update the 6updater by running the GUI ?

Rommel 2 Posted February 5, 2010 Is the ACE team planning to tweak close range AI dispersion? I feel like their medium and long range accuracy is perfect, but sometimes I just have to feel a little embarrassed for the Russian Spetsnaz who can't hit when I'm standing in the middle of a road 30m away, trying to figure out who is shooting at me. It lets me survive while doing the stupidest things. With vanilla CQB aiming and reaction time it was sometimes possible to run in a circle around enemies, and now they're even worse. Try increasing your AI precision where you are playing. Optimal value is around ~0.4.
HateDread 13 Posted February 5, 2010 Eeer.. do you have the items youre trying to use actually in your inventory? Yes, of course I do :P I get the equipment out of the box, and then no action is added to the menu, so I never use them. Any ideas?
sickboy 13 Posted February 5, 2010 @Sickboy Cheers.. Also, did you re-update after your update-post? or am I missing the "store" folder because I use the command line and did not update the 6updater by running the GUI ? Aye, but only pushed in the store with userconfig folder, that bumped the repos version but not the addon version/build, so no incompatibilities or version issues :)

dmarkwick 261 Posted February 5, 2010 Each time I use the updater, I get asked a couple of questions like this: You have requested to uninstall the gem:rack-1.0.1 actionpack-2.3.5 depends on [rack <~> 1.0.0>] If you remove this gems, one or more dependencies will not be met. Continue with Uninstall? [yn] I have no idea what this means, or, more accurately, I have no idea whether it's important, so I always answer no. Is this correct? DRoberts69 10 Posted February 6, 2010 ive just downloaded six updater and installed and i followed the video showing you how to do it exactly but i always get this message when i click execute in the six updater main index once all the options are the same as on the video. It says "The program cant start because cyggcc_s-1.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem" Ite first off i have no idea what this means but all the same i reinstalled the six updater but it just happened again so i have no idea. Help would be much appreciated.
SpyderPB6 10 Posted February 6, 2010 @DeMarkwick Try using the "Console" not the "GUI". It wont ask you for that or bring up the web server. But if you do use GUI, simply select N every time it asks you.
fakename2 10 Posted February 6, 2010 OK, so I was making a really stupid mistake after all. So, how do I rebind these keys? They aren't in the main game controls options. And while we're on the area of controls, how do I use tri-pods and mount weapons?
PTV-Jobo 820 Posted February 6, 2010 OK, so I was making a really stupid mistake after all. So, how do I rebind these keys? They aren't in the main game controls options. And while we're on the area of controls, how do I use tri-pods and mount weapons? These kinda of questions have been dealt with. Please take the time to familiarize yourself with the information found: HERE and HERE which answer all of your questions. It's usually a good idea to check the first page/post for links, etc. ;)

Calgar 10 Posted February 6, 2010 :pet2: Loved this for Arma 1, figured the six updater would be something along the lines of an SVN or something, which i set up in 3 seconds previously. I was wrong. Can't get Six updater to work, Got the 7.z files, put them in their place. first i got errors everywhere, none of which i understand, then i get blank page instead of host webbrowser thingy, then my will power faded completely. uninstalled the lot. i'll stick to the old fashion way of getting mods... click download from my friends at Armaholic. They take good care of us simpletons :o But, thanks for the beta pack releases guys. i dont mind having to dl big files.

noubernou 77 Posted February 6, 2010 How the hell do i download this shit??? Ive been stuck going to old files then finally to new files and yet through all that time downloading and searching all over the internet there seems to be no solid way on how to download the damn mod this shit is fucking annoying pardon my language but im just so fusterated by all this running around back and forth shit First off, calm down. Don't act like a jerk. Second, using Six updater should literally be these following steps: 1. Download Six Updater 2. Install Six Updater 3. Run Six Updater 4. Wait for your web browser to load the Six Updater page. 5. Look for button that says execute. 6. Click button that says execute. 7. Command Prompt window should open up. 8. Wait for it to download CBA, ACE, ACEX, ACE_SM, and ACE_PLA 9. If it doesn't make a short cut for you in your arma 2 installation folder then make one yourself to arma2.exe and add the following line to it: -mod=@CBA;@ACE;@ACEX;@ACEX_SM;@ACEX_PLA If any of this failed before. Unistall/delete the Six Updater, and the @CBA, @ACE, @ACEX, @ACE_SM, @ACE_PLA folder from your ArmA2 installation directory. Try again following the exact steps I wrote above. If ALL of this fails. Wait the 2 weeks till the 1.0 comes out. It will be a traditional install. ---------- Post added at 07:24 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:23 PM ---------- :pet2: Loved this for Arma 1, figured the six updater would be something along the lines of an SVN or something, which i set up in 3 seconds previously.
