Am I the only one who thinks the SIX uploader is needlessly complicated? Why not just use SVN?

All the guides I read for it don't really tell me what is going on.

Got it using Yoma's - thanks to Kelly's Heroes for making a practical option for downloading.

Gives you info on how to get the gasmasks/goggles working. Once you have them in your gear, you then use the scroll wheel to use them as an object.

Sight adjustment works fine on most of the 'sniper' rifles. Press shift + v to bring up the menu for adjusting them. I've found that other mods really interfere with this, and can easily stop the function. Haven't managed to find whether windage is working yet (supposedly defaults to shift + k?). Found a couple of the new US weapons defaulted to putting 6 laser designator batteries in your equipment instead of their ammunition type, lol :j:.

The torches and weapon rests are fantastic, and the HuntIR works perfectly, although you have to wait even longer than ACE1 before the reader will find the unit after launch. Finally, the G36 has CQB sights! Whole thing feels pretty stable. A lot of fun will be had in the coming days.

is there a OPFOR side or IND side i only found BLUFOR side some inf. veh. air.

QUALITY IS SUPERB only thing that bugs me chatter is gone how do bring that back

I do understand that you still have to learn how to work with six updater which i did, but do you guys need Rapidshare links? to download mod, it`s gona be only to folders ACE and ACEX, about 1.23 Gb, so let me know

Hi again : )

- Mission Editing Question

1. When i load the ACE mission in the editor i can use things like Grenade Options/CQB Sights and all those other goodies.

But when i create a mission i cannot use any of those things? Is there anything specific i need to add onto the map to enable these features?

How to change the new splash screen (Welcome to the shit) back to vanilla ARMA? I really don't want to have to stare at that everytime I play.

Check the userconfig/ACE folder it's in the clientside.hpp. It's been mentioned a ton.

OPFOR and others will probably come. So far it's just this:

Does anybody know why the night vision goggles are so dark? Is there something that can be adjusted?

Page up and page down adjust the brightness of nvg (finally).

Pipped again (how did I know it would happen:rolleyes:)

Thx. But again its very complicated isnt it. I remember that Operation Frenchpoint all the way back in OFP hade goggles to use to not get effected by dust from helicopters and you didnt have to do it in a config back then. It wasnt even in a mod but just in the addon. I know it was a feature on the soldier and not a object. But there most be a simpler way than to open configs and add names??

Oki in documentation it says shift + num 0. So it works fine for me now.

I did try to use six updater history. But i could not even find out where to download it. So i used Yoma. Got it down (Tip: Let those who know how to build applications like that do that and focus on making the mod) all god and well. And absolutely noting works. Crew served weapons, weapon resting, sight adjustment, rifles, launchers and so on. Nothing at all.

Kind of a kick to the groin area. All i get is a lot of errors.

Finally got the MG crew systems to work -I needed to use the ACE MG :o

...and not the standard m2.

We really need an ACE Murray's Guide righta bout now!

Key binding worked once I got that sorted.

Are you able to think of a solution to the updater overwriting ace_keys every time you use it?

Also can I will make one negative comment: the default keys for ACE have always been ridiculous - for example PgUp and PgDn etc. are already in use elsewhere in ArmA2, and I had hoped this would be corrected, but no matter - it is a small distraction as you can change them.

Possible bugs (Native to Vanilla?): On completely destroying a tyre on the Stryker (nothing else) the crew will bail. Also if you stand near enough to the stryker that you should be in cover (even crouched and prone I think), it is able to shoot through itself and kill you.

See it like this.

Option 1:

Download a mod.

Start game and pick up item and dont know how to use it since you dont get a option to use it.

Search for solution since nothing have been mentioned in documentation.

Find and open config. Search for chapter and then add line with name in that chapter.

Start game and pick up item and get option to select it.

Option 2:

Download addon

Start game and pick up item and get option to select it.

have you moved your userconfig folder from \ArmA2\@ACE into \ArmA2\?

you need to create a new folder inside the moved userconig called ACE, and drop all the .hpp files in there

final path for those hpp files should be:

\ArmA2\userconfig\ACE\

IE:

F:\ArmA 2\userconfig\ACE\ace_clientside_config.hpp

F:\ArmA 2\userconfig\ACE\ace_keys.hpp

F:\ArmA 2\userconfig\ACE\ACE_serverconfig.hpp

F:\ArmA 2\userconfig\ACE\ACE_Tracking.hpp

guys, unless you learn the updater and use it , you won't get any future updates. you will still need to go through the whole process and do the download from scratch even if you had downloaded it before as a .7z, so, might as well get over it once and for all, sort it out and end of problems. These guys work for free so let's not play customer and demand things like we paid for it. These guys made it this way for a good reason and although it took me whole night to sort it out, I know I need to accept it if I want to enjoy its pleasures. Necessary evil.

Those of you feeling strongly that they are doing wrong then you should check out other mods elsewhere, you didn't pay for ACE mod anyways.
