how do i put the download on pause, shut down the computer and resume again later?

Initial installations shouldnt be broken as you'll probably have to restart, but you can try.

CTRL+C in the Updater window, should shut it down.

After some reading its get very simple on how to use the Six Updater.If some one dosent got it yet, give a try on the video.

For non Engilsh-OS users:

if you cant open Web intarface http://localhost:1633try, try this step

1,Right click DOS window's Title bar

2,press T (or select second from bottom)

3,chose preset code page value to 437 (red circle)

then restart Six updater

Maybe Sickboy you should put this as you call it "lazy way" in the first post other than a link to quickstart, I call it most logical and user friendly way (other than direct mirror) to be honest.

I´ve tried figuring the updater out, but I´ve failed so far. I watched the videos and read the Installation guides, but I can´t seem to piece this together. Am I missing something?

One of the installer help pages says that ace logins are provided on a personal basis. Will I need to wait until the thing goes from beta to final, or am I simply putting in the wrong data into the updater?

Also, when checking the "servers" site on the updater page, it remains empty.

Any help would be appreciate. Sorry if I´m inconveniencing you.

I followed the video, run the program as admin, but when i start downloading (everything set the same as in the video) it opens a console, does very few things (downloads nothing) and then says "READY! Please press enter to close"

The web browser then reads:

Returned Message:

Found config! Found action!

A window should open displaying the update process progress

This was all much easier with just good 'ol zip files or .exe installers

When an uptade is available,just downloading necessary files,instead of downloading the whole pack is brilliant.

Hi, I have downloaded the mod and want to ask you some questions.

I have read on the wiki that there is a ACE user config.

There are a number of masks and eyewear you can use during gameplay. Using this feature requires some setup in the ACE user config.

Where can I find this user config ? It's a just a cfg or a real setup menu ?

I don't play with zqsd, can I change ACE shortcuts ? Maybe it's in the same file or setup menu ?

You can unpack it into your ARMA dir. Then everything should work. If you want to use the updater afterwards (because ACE2 may get updated on a daily base because it's still beta) it'll recognize the files you already have and will only DL the new ones.

I highly suggest everyone to do it this way. DON'T use the updater for the initial DL of the files, but use one of the (very fast) mirrors instead. It'll save you and others a lot of time.

I was getting quite frustrated with the updater until i read what it was telling me and deleted six-updater.pid in the program files.

Now it works like a charm.

I have to say, thanks for all the hard work, i've been anticapating this mod since it was announced.
