unknow_mario 10 Posted May 22, 2010 The buildings are not any more destructible then they are now*... They just changed the Chernarus ones to desert colored, where the destruct stuff looks better. xD*Going off of all the previews and screenshots no, in Chernarus not all buildings were destructible and enterable and in A2 I never saw many buildings such as those of previews

Alex72 1 Posted May 22, 2010 I question whether the BIS announced officially demo? (Except that the site says that the demo coming soon) arma2.com is BIS official ARMA game site so if it says so there you can count on that there will be a demo sooner or later. Laqueesha 474 Posted May 22, 2010 In 1988, after the fall of the monarchy power between monarchists and socialists tribal groups erupted a struggle for supremacy of Takistan. Both factions were supported respectively by the superpowers Russia and United States, which sought to secure strategic control over the country's rich resources, particularly oil reserves and mining precious minerals. In 1992, thanks to the huge Soviet military and arms supplies from the East, the Socialists took over. However, large tribal groups remained monarchists. Oil resources available were quickly exploited to expand and strengthen the state police and the armed forces Takistan. The production of ballistic missiles and Scud B carrier-rocket secret projects and research and development of chemical weapons led to an increase in military escorts to increase the military power of Takistan and at the same time consolidating the government. On April 17, 2012 royalist tribes apparently with the help of intelligence agents in the CIA provoked considerable damage to oil production. Coordinated a raid on oil fields strategic forces put three hard blows to the regime: the loss of a year of production, destruction of 68% of wells and a drastic reduction of resources with which to maintain control over the country. Power structures began to disintegrate: rumors were spreading discontent and subversive acts occurred. In a desperate attempt to preserve its authority, the Supreme Council socialist threatened to launch a chemical attack if the neighboring country of Karzeghistan had "immediately returned to his people" Sharig the plateau, a region rich in oil that had been usurped by the British the time of the monarchy Takistan. On June 1, 2012, days after the ultimatum, the forces of the alliance established bases in the territories controlled by rebels and launched the so-called Operation Arrowhead. Their purpose was to prevent possible attacks with ballistic missiles and nipped in the bud Karzeghistan of aggression, even before he groped any humanitarian initiative or policy. In this situation, two armies and 24 hours in which only you can make a difference. Am I reading this correctly? The Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, how can they be sending arms in 1992? Anyways, that's a small thing. It's looking good! :D

It's looking good! :D My guess is it's a slightly alternate universe, where some events are the same and some aren't, and some that are the same are shifted in time. I mean, based on the names of the countries alone and the fact that it is set in the future, it should be obvious that this is the case.
Laqueesha 474 Posted May 22, 2010 (edited) My guess is it's a slightly alternate universe, where some events are the same and some aren't, and some that are the same are shifted in time.I mean, based on the names of the countries alone and the fact that it is set in the future, it should be obvious that this is the case. Agreed, future events are set in an alternate universe, but important historical events like that wouldn't be different. I mean, Germany invaded Poland in 1939, not 1979, right? Anyways, I'm reading too much into this. :D It's a seperate story set on Chernarus probably because the U.S. realised they had left some unfinished business. So it's perfectly feasible if Ed Winters is a pilot in OA, as long as he doesn't die, to make his comeback in EW Even if that is the case, why would Ed Winter be flying Apaches? In Eagle Wing, it is revealed that Ed Winter is a Lieutenant in the United States Navy. The U.S. Navy doesn't fly Apaches, or any helicopter gunship of any kind. ;) G4 ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead Developer Walkthrough http://g4tv.com/videos/46054/ARMA-2-Operation-Arrowhead-Developer-Walkthrough/ Well I thought it's same as GT one but it's new one... tho he still showing similar stuff basically but still :P The editor looks great, but I can hardly understand what Mr. Prazak is saying without subtitles. :( Edited May 22, 2010 by Laqueesha
-Snafu- 78 Posted May 22, 2010 That's most likely because most of the countries you've described (with the exception of South Africa and some Caribbean countries) are Commonwealth realms. ;) Oh I know and you're right, but the connection to the 'Mother Country' doesn't hold as much sway as it did up until the 1960s. You can also through the Republic of Ireland into the mix; that's a big one I missed out. An accent or dialect of that of an individual from a Commonwealth realm. I figured that's what you meant I've just never heard the phrase before. :) Oh I know from personal experience, mate. Believe me. I've met people in the United States military from all over the world. Many, or most, enlist to obtain U.S. citizenship and become Americans. :D Interesting but we are going a wee bit OT here. :p

That guy 10 Posted May 22, 2010 TAKE THAT SOCIALIST SCUM! :p bis manages another game were we kill commies. not only commies, but ARAB commies :p cool vid regarding ed winter, that whole campaign and the premise behind it was not really cannon, or realistic in the slightest. the navy dont fly attack choppers, and there are not "SF" attack wings, and they sure would not send in a single chopper with no support on such a dangerous mission. its purpose was to tell a tale of the end of the world, not be an accurate representation of modern air support :D you are overthinking oh yeah, that german box art beats the crap outa the US.
