Serbia must be a dreary place..... Much like Chernarus.

well, not dreary, its more colorfull thats for sure. but climate is much the same (although we usually have snow in winter), also backstory is kind of mixure of kosovo and south osetia wars, so... villages and people are alike too, especially in the southern more rural area... here on north, there is no much resemblance, its more european.

At the moment unplayable for me too, I´m from Spain i had the game two weeks ago... everydays looks in the oficial web looking for new path that solves my problems, but nothing.

When is not a CTD is a texture corruption or a unlimit "recibing" who blocks the pc... really i havent see a bug at the moment :) to can see a bug is necesary to play the game :j:

So, i will wait to a new path to fix my problems... but think the game was not ready for sale... BI... -1

My sys:

E8400 C2D 3,2GHz

4GB RAM

ATI 3870X2 512x2MB VRAM

XP 32 SP3

Unplayable at 1680x1050 with everything at lowest ¿?

I would like a full refund of my purchasing price on steam. This game is less than playable and was buggy from the git go. I gave it a try anyways and have already contacted bis to get my money back.

Well, good luck with that...

Well I crash to desktop every 10-20 mins normally.

I'm one of those lucky people running a 'high spec' rig, which it seems is about the worst thing for playing Arma 2.

On one hand I'm really pissed that BIS felt so little for it's customers that it released a game in Arma's current state of development (or lack of it)!

On the other, I can respect that businesses are not normally run by the creative guys that become obsessed, slaveing over their creations.

They're run by accountants and 'management' specialists, who I would expect would be pressured by the financial side to get this game out, and on the market before OFP:Dragon Rising came along and took a bite out of profits.

I'm really enjoying playing the short bursts that I get and am really looking forward to a patch, which I'm sure will come, to sort this out.

I have total faith that the game will be fixed as I'm sure that the guys who created this game are just as frustrated that their 'baby' is receiving so much bad attitude from unhappy people.

The one real gripe I have, and this is the one which could, and probably will, stop me buying anymore of Bohemia Interactives software in the future is there total and utter lack of communication.

If I owned a company and my customer relations dept were as bad as this, I'd fire the lot of them. Period.

Most people on here, who have serious issues running the game, would be happier and less frustrated if someone came along every now and then and just came out with lines like 'We understand your having problem xxxxxx and we're investigating it as we speak. We hope to be able to give you more information when we understand the cause etc. etc.'

But no, total silence.

I'm not asking for promises of a fix, or dates when it'll be, just that you have acknowledged my problems, and your looking into them.

That's all, not really that much to ask is it?

Anyways, that's my view and how satisfied I am.

I love this poll, a pole asking if you are satisfied with a game in the troubleshooting section. Kinda like going up to Saddam and asking him if he's happy how Desert Storm 2 went.

Still, I love that pic.

Love it!

One of the best games I've ever played.

Already have my first MP mission in the can (almost).

Really, would you rather BIS responded to every gripe, every CTD etc? I'll wager half the problems (if not more) are down to the user, substandard hardware etc.

Now, are there problems attributable to A2? Most assuredly, but I would rather this small, independant developer worked on fixing them instead of massaging my ego.

PS : "Total silence" is a blatant falsehood. There are plenty of comments from the Devs, obviously they can't respond to every individual complaint.

I love ArmA2, but unfortunately, I will think twice next time before I buy any product from BIS in the future.

Well said. Should have just went for the demo but I hear it runs better because of a smaller map size. Not sure if thats true but if it is, then that's a nice bait and switch tactic.

Great game! however performance is terrible.. and online play is pathetic.. constant lag and people warping around etc etc

game is great if there is no lag in online play ( maps with not too much AI )

I LOVE Arma2 and it certainly makes my other games look bad.

I will buy BIS games again, but maybe 6-12 months after they're released.

Mouse lag ruins the game totally. Unplayable as infanty unless you have a monster PC that can run game 100+FPS constantly.

You havent fixed your mouse lag yet? Did you set the Pre Render limit lower? I did this test as well (even though i dont feel i have mouse lag) and its like playing BF2. If that plus all the other things doesnt work for you: A. Your mouse is broken, B. Your computer is broken, C. You never tested all the settings to remove mouse lag, D. Im out of options dude...

All the options you can do has helped everyone i know to get smoother mouse movements - even though NO ONE thaught they had mouse lag! But now they have more responsive movements wich they all say "aah ok i dont care... Didnt feel bad before either".

Check your hardware, and start change some settings around mate.

This poll comes too short with different neutral answers. Related to hardware problems I would vote very good, no problems so far. Talking about game optimation is a different point, since I do not have the newest hardware. But the game is still running very acceptable on high settings and a view distance of 3000m. The "fun factor" which this game simulates is absolutely there. Myself as a de facto pacifist and non-combatant who never experienced any army drill, not even war, can feel the steady perception of a on going conflict between different forces in a rebelious war zone. So, the immersion is also there.

I've been a P.C gamer since Wolfenstein 3d and Doom so a long time. Usually buy 12 - 15 games every year so I reckon I'm experienced enough to make a valid judgement. Now I've never ran a top range rig, but always medium to high. My current rig plays everything I throw at it, not always maxed out but perfectly playable and looks good. The problem with Arma 2 as a lot of people have already said is unless you have an exceptional high end rig it's unplayable. Yes you can turn everything to low and get 20 FPS (still no where near playable) but the problem is that Arma 2 looks pants when set that low. Lets be honest the graphics are O.K but nothing exceptional (have you seen the foliage close up, yuk!) So I applaud the devs for their ambition if it gets fixed this could be a great game but as an out of the box release this is appalling. I went into my Game store a few days ago and the P.C games rack is now about 5% of display. Games released like this are the reason why.

Arma 2 is great compared to Arma 1. Bis did make a lot of improvements...over the engine and the AI. Hell the AI can straff, lean, take cover and lean around corners...that huge but not enough..;)

I have been playing(still playing) OFP ever since i played OFP Awesome Demo. back the 2001 and must say OFP was the greatest game ever..;) and i thks BIS for that. No other game have been in my HDD so long.

Arma 1 however was a "huge" disaster, Many thks for the community for making great Addons to make the game playable.

For Arma 2 i even bought a new PC and gave my P4 to my dad..:D

My new specs:

Q9550

Asus Striker 2 formula

Leadtek GTX-260

SuperB PSU

2 GB RaM (so far.....)

Arma 2 is a great game...:yay: (or else it would be a "big" problem :computer:)

I guess that people who have played OFP/Arma would find Arma 2 a great game. And Arma 2 do need a lot of patches...

As many of you...i'm waiting for OFP-2 too....

When its going good it can be some of the best tactical fun on a PC i have ever had, but then there is the issues we all deal with that can take the shine off a great moment in the game. ( most ppl with ctds should really chk ther PSUs)

if it was peoples PSU's it wouldn't be a software CTD would it? it would be a system reset, things stopping working, things burning out.

People check their PSU's usually when they are doing a build.(obviously an unbranded cheapo nasty PSU isnt going to be upto the job)

All you gain by having a 1000w or such is more electricity bill

Well, honestly i've tried to like it. But the people look creepy, in a zombielike way. AI is doing rather funny, but mostly unfunny things.

But my biggest disappointment is the campaign, it seems chopped up. Conversations are actually embarrassingly badly, so I got the feeling that I payed 44,95 euro for an editor for now.

Maybe I'll try it again later when the mods have arrived in force, if not OFP:DR makes me realize that I should never have left that series ;)

Great game - (if I could experience it long enough without these damn CTD's in multiplayer) - just let down at the moment by frequest crashes..

I dislike two major facts.

One is this HDR effect when I am in a helicopter. My squad looks all washed up. I know they are trying to simulate the natural reaction of our eyes in darkness but they took it too far. I have been in dimly lit places before and I haven't noticed GLOWING FACES!

The other is that I usually play with my friends over LAN which is in my house. I have four pcs for that reason. My main pc is powerful enough and runs the game no problem.

The other three are not SO good which means that my friends will suffer a bit. And I don't think they will be willing to spend 50euros for a game that plays bad.

Apart from those two, I am really happy! And patches will only make it better so, I am a happy man.

Sorry to have to correct you but that is not the case. A 1000W power supply can supply up to that much power but will only output what the hardware asks it for so having a larger power supply does not mean a larger bill unless the system uses more power. Plug in a 2000W power supply in a system that uses only 500W and your electricity use is 500W, same as in a 1000W power supply.
